Chapter 389: War Against the Beast Army (4)

Kenneth noticed a powerful presence in the beast army's rear position. He immediately notified the Nascent Soul Esper beside him and told him to speed up.

"They are on their way here!" Kenneth narrowed his eyes. He thought that there was only one Nascent Soul beast in the beast army, but there were actually two! Furthermore, the pressure of their aura was so overwhelming. He even felt like it was almost similar to the Suliman Family's patriarch, Arnold Suliman.

"Sir Kenneth, did you sense that as well?" Muttered the esper behind him.

"Mn. They are almost here. Prepare for battle!" Kenneth shouted as he took out his weapon, a long silver sword with a dragon head on the handle.

They looked increasingly nervous as the two powerful auras moved closer to them.

"They are strong! Should we ask the others for support?"

Kenneth frowned as he thought for a moment.

There were only two enemies, but their power was significantly higher compared to them. From his initial estimate, the two incoming savage beasts were almost at the peak of the Nascent Soul realm. Meanwhile, they were a few stages weaker. Although the difference in cultivation was only by a few stages, this small difference was like an impassable chasm.

"We can't disturb Sir Charles. He needs to be there to lead the army. Just summon all the Nascent Soul Esper from Northern Trance. We can't handle those two by ourselves." Kenneth muttered.

"Alright."

"Tell them to hurry over."

"Yes!"

While they were contacting their allies, Kenneth finally saw the faces of their enemies. One was an old man with a muscular physique, while the other was a middle-aged man with golden hair.

The strong aura they emitted made him suffocated. 'How powerful!' He screamed in his heart.

"These are the humans that he wanted us to dispose of? How weak! Gargan, stay here and don't make a move. I can handle these two by myself." The golden-haired man muttered to the old man beside him while staring at Kenneth with contempt. He didn't place them in his eyes at all.

Kenneth didn't even dare to refute it. He was afraid, but he didn't retreat.

"Just look at them. They are even afraid to speak. Hahaha!" Argent laughed in disdain. He enjoyed the feeling of playing with his prey. Seeing the fear in their eyes always excites him. This time was no different.

Kenneth took a deep breath. The insult made him furious. "Savage beasts are not welcomed here! You still have time to retreat! Once our human experts arrive, you guys will have nowhere to run!" He uttered with a cold gaze. Although he was afraid of the golden-haired man and the muscular old man, how could he remain indifferent to their taunts?

Argent's face turned dark upon hearing his words. "So you know how to speak, huh?"

"Hahaha! I like this human! He has some backbone, unlike someone I know who is just all bark." Gargan laughed in amusement.

His words made Argent even more furious.

In that instant, Argent suddenly made his move. He pounced toward Kenneth and shot a beam of light in the shape of a sword.

Kenneth was horrified. The power behind this attack was so intense that even the residual force was already causing the wind to twist and turn. He hurriedly activated a movement technique to evade.

Whoosh!

Booom!

The mountain behind him was cut in half and it collapsed!

Hiss!

Kenneth was stunned by its power. Luckily, he managed to evade on time.

However, Argent didn't stop there. He released a series of attacks on Kenneth, not even giving a room to breathe!

"Die, you lowly human!" Argent shouted furiously.

Kenneth evaded the spells thrown at him, but because there was a huge difference in strength, he still ended up getting struck a few times. 'Sh*t! This guy is too strong! I don't think I can hold him back for long!' The wounds on his body were increasing and his movements started to slow down.

"You can't kill him with me here!" Shouted the Esper who was with him.

At this moment, the Esper dragged the severely injured Kenneth into a safe spot, but he was also struck by a spell in the process. It left him with a gruesome injury on his back, but he acted like it was nothing.

"Have you contacted them?" Kenneth asked while stabilizing himself in midair.

"Yes. They will be here soon!" The man replied.

"Good! We just need to hold out until they get here. Follow me!" Kenneth grabbed his sword and took the initiative to attack. The other expert immediately followed him.

"Argent, how much time do you need to deal with those insects?" Gargan was starting to get impatient.

"Hmph! I am only playing around with them. It's too boring to stay with that bastard, Kazak. I might as well play with these little insects." Argent muttered in annoyance.

"Don't waste too much time. We still need to enter the city. Kazak might punish you if you continue to prolong this battle."

"I know! I know! Stop nagging!" Argent waved his hand and launched a series of attacks. This time, he has used all his strength.

"This isn't enough to kill us!" Kenneth shouted as he released his own combo of attacks.

Bang! Bang!

Their fierce battle sent shockwaves across the battlefield. Some weaker soldiers and savage beasts were even thrown away because of the fearsome winds.

"Sir Kenneth, we're here to help you!" A booming voice echoed behind them, making Kenneth and the other Esper smile in relief. If they arrived a minute later, they would be left with nothing but corpses.

"You guys arrived in time! Help us deal with that beast!" Kenneth shouted while pointing his sword at Argent.

This act infuriated Argent. "How dare you point your sword at me?! Now die!"

With the arrival of three more espers, Gargan had no choice but to step in. Although Argent was powerful, he didn't want any accident to happen.
