The Guardians' Throne - The First Magic Swordsman

Chapter 488: Demon god (6)

After two hours of fighting, even Zaos was beginning to feel tired since he had to keep his guard up the whole time. While some corpses of the monsters could float, and he could use them to move around without using too much stamina, he couldn't use them as platforms for too long due to the height of his body, armor, and equipment…

Things got even more complicated when Zaos noticed that the ocean of blood was getting too wild… waves were starting to appear for some reason, and Zaos finally understood why after a while when he heard the sounds of things crashing in the distance. When he focused his eyes in that direction, Zaos saw a monster that seemed to be ten meters tall and forty meters tall swimming toward him… it was a much larger fish, and while that one didn't have a skeletal armor around its body, its massive size was enough to completely knock down the piles of rubble… if things keep going like that, Zaos and Drannor won't have many places to use and stay away from the ocean.

"Hahaha, they finally showed up," Elisius said. "I introduce you, the predator that stands at the top of the food chain of this world."

Drannor stopped fighting, and he approached Zaos when he noticed that massive monster… impossible fighting without using the power of their swords. So, he clenched his teeth in annoyance while he waited for one of Zaos' ideas.

"Calm down and catch your breath," Zaos said. "If you do it, you realize that you have many options here… Anyway, I will leave you alone for a while."

Before Drannor could say anything, the monster got close enough and opened its mouth to attack them. Zaos used Thunder Armor and then dashed toward the interior of the mouth of the creature, and once he was there, he sliced everything apart upward until he reached the brain of the beast. While that wasn't necessary, Zaos tried to look for some kind of weak spot on the heads of those creatures that failed to see until now, but he didn't find anything.

When Zaos heard the beast's mouth colliding with another pile of rubble, and its mouth began to close, he decided to escape. In the end, he left the beast before the exit could close and ran over the bloody ocean, and stopped at the top of another pile of rubble. A few seconds later, Zaos saw the beast submerging without moving… it seemed that he had caused enough damage. Still, he was almost certain that such a monster would return soon.

"Not bad, not bad," Elisius said. "However, you didn't kill it, and there are more incoming."

"Please, you can talk to me once you grow some balls," Zaos said. "I don't have time to waste with cowards."

Zaos was trying to keep his cool, but he could see other behemoth-like creatures approaching. While he didn't spend much time of his life in the ocean, he recalled a few things that he had seen there… Those massive monsters looked like the whales he had seen while he was traveling to Noemi's birthday. Even while some of the whales were quite peaceful, they still could cause a lot of trouble to ships.

"I should have brought some potions with me…" Zaos muttered and then looked toward Drannor, hoping that he would have some. His expectations betrayed him.

"Why would I have mana potions?" Drannor asked.

"In that case, you fight the small fries," Zaos said. "I will deal with the big guns."

Zaos jumped to the nearby pile of rubbles. They repeated that until he was far away enough to make the monsters feel comfortable in facing Drannor alone. As if they could sense his mana, the whale-like monsters moved toward Zaos. Unfortunately, they were smart enough not to collide against each other, so only one swam toward him, but in fact, Zaos was thankful for that.

When the beast collided against the pile of rubbles that Zaos was standing in, he jumped at the last minute and then landed on the head of the creature. While enhancing his sword with wing magic until it became electricity, he pierced the monster's head with his greatsword, making the beast tremble all over. After five seconds, the beast stopped shaking, and Zaos actually felt like he had killed the monster… maybe the electric current fried whatever its weak point was. Nevertheless, Zaos dashed toward the remaining whale, and the stupid beast helped him by doing the same. However, at the last minute, the monster submerged, and Zaos couldn't see any movement in the blood around him. However, after a couple of seconds, the beast emerged, ready to eat him alive.

Zaos let the monster do that, but he prevented the beast from closing its mouth by hitting the upper side of its mouth. The weapon easily pierced the flesh and eventually reached the brain. However, not fast enough before Zaos could leave the mouth and the monster submerged again.

Blood entered the monster's mouth and eventually made Zaos unable to see anything. Still, he could feel the movements of the beast, so he could tell the way out of that shithole… he endured until he felt the monster stop trembling. Then he pulled his sword and used wind magic to propel him to outside. After a couple of very unpleasant seconds, Zaos left the ocean completely covered in blood. He could only pray that such blood wouldn't make him sick or poison him…

"Did you enjoy your swim?" Elisius asked.

"You are boring, Elisius…" Zaos said and then sighed. "I was hoping for some epic battle between us, but I feel like sighing. Do you want to face me without mana that badly? I will gladly help you with that? Shall I wound my two legs as well? Maybe you will feel more comfortable if I am only able to fight by using headbutts. How utterly pathetic... "

The whole area began to tremble, and the ocean's temperature increased as well. It seemed that Zaos finally annoyed Elisius…
