The Greatest Sinner

Chapter 76 - Hardness And Bravery

Immediately after Fane's signal, Anika cast a spell. Ice crystals began to form around her, but Enni was not going to wait for her opponent to attack.

It wasn't even a second before the fight began, but Enni already began to attack. Her brass knuckles were enveloped in orange flames and she punched Anika in the stomach with all her might. Her attack was very fast and swift, she far outnumbered her opponent in physical strength.

Anika tried to somehow block the blow, but the moment she tried to do so she already felt a terrible pain in her stomach area.

Whoosh.

The force of the blow sent Anika flying back several meters before she could cast her spell. Enni wasn't going to let her do anything.

Whoosh.

The next moment the wind flowed around Enni's legs and her speed increased dramatically. This was the second spell of Amplification Magic she had cast in this fight.

Whoosh.

In a split second, she reached Anika and hit her with the right arm. That strike was enough to knock Anika out and end this fight.

However, Anika wasn't about to give up so quickly. She`d missed a powerful blow, but she hadn't lost yet.

Suddenly the amulet around her neck glowed brightly and a large blue magic circle appeared beneath her. The next moment thick ice spikes emerged from the circle. They surrounded Anika protecting her and attacking Enni at the same time.

Thanks to the use of the Magic Artifact, the spikes were many and each one was very large and sharp. They could easily pierce Enni and seriously injure her.

There was no way Enni had time to dodge. She didn't expect Anika to use such a powerful and massive spell so abruptly. She simply had nowhere to run, especially since she was in the air. She only had half a second to make a decision and she was able to make it.

Whoosh.

The girl folded her arms in front of her, the brass knuckles quickly extinguished, and a thick layer of wood began to appear across her arms from wrist to elbow. It was another of the Amplification Magic spells that Enni wielded.

The "Amplifiers" could not only make their weapons more powerful, they could also buff themselves in all kinds of ways. From the "Amplifiers" `point of view, Enni was an all-rounder. She had a spell to enhance her brass knuckles, to speed and to protect herself. No matter what happened, she was ready for anything.

Anika didn't expect Enni to have such a thing in her arsenal, but the ice crystals had dealt Enni damage anyway.

Crack.

Two thick and sharp crystals crashed into the wooden armor, but broke it quite easily. The crystals went through and stuck inside bringing Enni terrible pain.

"You, bitch!" Enni said loudly and one of her earrings glowed bright red. The brass knuckle on her right arm flared sharply, and her whole arm was in brutal flames.

Anika tried to dodge, but that was the end of it. She had no chance of finding a way out of this deplorable situation. The heat from the fire was so powerful that her ice crystals began to melt quickly, her skin to burn, by the way the same thing was happening to Enni.

Whoosh.

Suddenly a figure appeared in the arena to stop the fight.

"Quiet." Said Fane, stopping Enni's flaming fist with a single finger. The next moment the spell dissipated and both girls were safe.

To everyone's surprise, it wasn't the girl dressed in black who appeared in the arena, but Fane Cross himself. It wasn't his job, and he had no right to interfere or stop the fight, but he didn't care.

Naturally, no one was outraged by Fane's actions. Everyone was well aware that Anika had no chance and if the fight had not been stopped, both contestants would have been seriously injured.

The girl dressed in black should have intervened in the fight, but since Enni was performing, Fane decided to do a bit of self-will. In any case, he showed up when everything was already decided.

"Fane..." Enni spoke, looking at the head of her Family.

He smiled in response and disappeared. In an instant, he was in his place.

As always, after the battle was over, all the contestants were healed and the winner was announced.

Evan standing in the distance was pleased with the fight: <Huh, even though her hands were pierced with ice crystals she still continued to attack. This girl is a little crazy.

If she had been more careful, she wouldn't have turned herself under the attack, but then she wouldn't have won so quickly.

As he assessed Enni's performance, Evan reflected on the fact that he had never seen the strong magicians` fighting before. Sure, he had managed to see the Zak vs. Ermis fight, but only the finale. It wasn't enough to fully understand the power of magicians in this world.

<I wonder how Fane and Koen fight, watching their fight would be a very valuable and rewarding experience.>

Evan understood that for Koen and Fane there was no point in fighting as well as the other magicians. To see such battles he needed to go to a place where there were no rules and chaos was rampant.

<After the Academy of Magic, it`s necessary to take part in some sort of battle. Knowledge and experience in duels in the arena is certainly good, but it can't compare to the real battlefield and war. It's the only place where you can outdo yourself.>

While Evan was thinking about his future plans, there were other battles in the arena. He'd already seen enough, so all he had to do was wait either for something really interesting or his turn.

...

Thus many fights took place, and each of the participants entered the arena and fought. Anyway, in all that time there was no one to compare with Roland. He was still the main contender to win.

As for Roland his fight was just starting.

"Fien Vierdag and Roland Jellis, come on out into the arena and give us a show!" Fane said loudly.

At the same moment, the eyes of every spectator were fixed on the two young men entering the arena. It was a fight between some of the main favorites of this tournament.

Of course, more people thought that Roland would win, his fight made it clear to everyone how skilled and strong he was. But, Fien was also very strong. The voting ratio was about 70/30.

Marcel watched the arena intently. He was not naïve and was well aware that Fien had little chance. Moreover, his score was even more critical than that of the other spectators, 90/10.

He did not have a bad opinion of Fien's skills, for her age she was a genius. It's just that Roland was really monstrously strong and his actions were impossible to predict.

After Fane announced the participants in the fight, Fien immediately entered the arena. She had only her favorite snow-white rapier in her hands.

Just like last time Roland took his time. He came later and on seeing him, everyone was surprised. Last time he had performed unarmed, but now he was armed with a huge axe, which he placed on his shoulder and held with one hand.
