The Greatest Sinner

Chapter 290 - The Tower's Furnishings

"Hmm, someone managed to escape?" Said Dorlus. According to his figures, the members of the Tear of Light should be fifteen, but there were fourteen heads on the table. To some extent, he was right, for three members of the Tears of Light, given Ein had managed to escape. True, none of them knew that only Ein remained alive.

"No one escaped. You were wrong." Evan said coldly. He wasn't going to talk about what really happened in those caves. Dorlus had given Evan unreliable information, and he was going to take advantage of it.

"What do you mean?" Dorlus asked.

Evan pointed at Sara's head and said, "First of all, there were not fifteen, but fourteen. But, there were only thirteen members of the Tear of Light, and they also had this girl with them. She's a member of Gold Glow and was at the stage - Two-Pointed Star with three flames."

Dorlus wondered. He hadn't expected that more than just the members of the Tear of Light would go after Meteorite Glass.

"I owe you an apology. It seems my informants were mistaken, I must say that this is extremely rare. I got you into a deadly situation because of me." Said Dorlus.

He could know nothing of what happened at Stone Seeds. Moreover, even though the information was wrong, Evan complied with his request and was even able to kill such a powerful mage.

"Okay, let's drop that point. I came here to sell all these items and give you the Meteorite Glass. I'll keep the flasks as well as the weapons you lent me. I hope there's no problem with that?" Said Evan.

Dorlus nodded and said, "Sure, I'll quickly assess all the items now."

Evan nodded.

After a couple of minutes, Dorlus handed Evan five million gold coins. That was the exact amount the items in the spatial rings, and Meteorite Glass were worth. Evan was pleased, 5 million gold coins was a lot of money.

"Dorlus, I have a favor to ask of you. I want to buy something unusual. I need it brought to my tower in three days. I'll have all the rooms set up by then." Evan said calmly.

"Have you decided to add something else to your enormous list? Sure, go ahead. I can get all kinds of tools and gadgets." Dorlus replied quickly.

"I need ..."

"Oh, interesting order you have, I'll do everything, no problem."

...

For the next three days, Evan set up the tower and the lab. Dorlus delivered everything he needed before Evan even went to get Meteorite Glass.

Evan furnished the rooms with various furniture, tools, decorations, and so on. All of the things were in the same rings. So even though Evan ordered so much stuff that it would be impossible to fit it into a four story house. Everything fit into a couple of rings. This way, it was very convenient to deliver and sell anything.

Evan had a lot of money, so he ordered the best and highest quality stuff. If nothing happened, he would stay in that tower for several years at least. The experiment would take a very long time, and it wasn't easy to create his own spell. So he paid ten million gold coins for all the materials. It was an incredible sum for which he could easily buy an entire village.

There were a total of two underground floors in the abandoned tower, not counting the top floor. Fortunately, they were large enough and ambitious enough. Several rooms Evan had set up for himself. There he would sleep, eat, and also train. Moreover, Evan ordered a huge amount of mana crystals and equipped several rooms for Creation.

A large number of rooms Evan set up for experiments. He even created a couple of operating rooms like Rave's and several rooms for people and cages for monsters.

In general, some of the underground floors Evan had set aside for his needs, and some for the lab and test subjects.

But, that was only part of it. Evan had to protect this tower from unexpected visitors. He didn't know how long he would have to stay at the Demonic Tree base.

Evan paid ten million gold coins for materials, tools, and furniture, but he gave twenty million for formations and spell scrolls. Evan decided to spare no expense and protect his main base as well as he could.

He bought hundreds of formations and was going to install them around his tower. It took quite a bit of time, but it wasn't difficult. They were ordinary but quality protective formations. Evan bought more than ten thousand stakes and gradually placed them around his perimeter, creating one formation after another.

There was practically no limit to the number of formations one could install. But, many mages didn't set the same formations because the efficiency dropped. But, Evan decided to ignore these rules. In his opinion, even if the efficiency decreased, it was not zero.

So even though he set up about three hundred formations, there were only fifty types of formations.

"Phew, that was hard, but even a mage at the - Three-Pointed Star stage will be hard to get in here now." Proclaimed Evan looking at the hundreds of barriers around his tower.

Whoooosh.

Suddenly Reykar appeared on Evan's shoulder and flew up. He sat on top of the tower and looked around.

"Looks like Reykar wanted to admire the view. By the way, I can do that too." Evan thought and cast Hell Vampire Wings.

Wings of blood appeared on his back, and Evan soared upward. He couldn't call the view beautiful and incredible. But, there was a charm to blizzards and snowy mountains.

"О? Looks like the Dorlus people are already here." Mumbled Evan as he looked at several vampires heading toward his tower.

The vampires were on horseback and dragging a wagon covered in black cloth behind them. A massive cage could be seen under the cloth.

Evan landed and greeted the vampires.

"Mr. Evan, Dorlus told us to deliver this to you." Said one of the vampires.

"Sure, thanks for the job." Said Evan and paid a million gold coins.

Whereupon, the other vampires, detached the cage from the wagon and carried it into Evan's tower.. He said goodbye to the vampires and closed the main gate, and headed for the cage.
