Chapter 1970 - Shadowmoon Insignia

Chapter 1970: Shadowmoon Insignia

Although the first Boss was difficult, it wasn’t so hard that it stumped them for days on end.

The most important part of the Boss battle was the timing of when to break the Boss’ Tide Shield. After Tide Shield had been used, all damage output players had to immediately cast their HP regenerating skills and cooperate with the healers to ensure that the team had at least 10,000 HP.

This would give them enough time to break through the shield.

After the Boss’ death, the Maelstrom’s Fury was dropped. This was a good one-handed weapon for magic professions that had excellent attributes.

However, the Halberd of Desolation completed overshadowed that item. The Halberd of Desolation was a two-handed, long weapon that had even better attributes. Moreover, it was a cooler-looking item.

The fact that this Boss had dropped two items meant that it probably hadn’t been killed before.

On the way from the first Boss to the second, there were some flying monsters that the long-ranged damage output players had to attack after the tanks had pulled them down.

The second Boss was Supremus.

He appeared at the Illidian Training Ground outside the Black Temple and was guarding the gate to the Black Temple.

Supremus was a very simple Boss and was similar to one of the four guards in the battle against Prince Kael’thas. Due to the long Berserk time of the Boss, Sky Moon appropriately decided to increase the Fire Resistance of the team members. Most teams discovered that the damage caused by the volcano was a direct reason for their team being wiped when attempting this Instance Dungeon.

This entire Boss battle was fought in two repeated stages. The first required two tanks and the second involved kiting the Boss around. These stages would be repeated until the Boss died.

In the first stage, the two tanks had high HP and the damage output players could deal the most damage. The second stages existed primarily to evade the volcanos’ damage.

The Boss would summon small volcanoes which erupted with blue flames that dealt 4500 fire damage to the players around them. They dealt with this by casting movement speed buffs and paying attention to where the volcanoes were being summoned.

However, they could not run too far away, so they made sure to keep circling an area.

There was no problem with Aggro at this stage, even with the damage output players going all out. Even if the Boss suddenly changed targets, the new target could use an invulnerability skill to temporarily save themselves. The main way that the Boss killed players was through the volcanoes in the second stage. Overcoming this was just a matter of practice. When the second stage came, they just had to pay extra attention to the Aggro. Hunters could cast a timely Misdirection to avoid drawing aggro.

After the Boss died, a Syphon of the Nathrezim was dropped.

This exquisite hammer was taken away by Sakura Memories for very few points. After the Dual Talent Specialisation was introduced, Sakura Memories now focused on providing buffs and healing. When more healing was required, she would often make an appearance. If they had enough mana, she could cast a fairly strong healing chain.

Band of the Abyssal Lord!

This defensive ring was good for both the Main Tanks, Wandering and Azure Sea Breeze, that were present. Despite the fact that they appeared to have been quarrelling all day, they were actually quite close.

It was actually fairly difficult to guess who would get the equipment.

Legionkiller!

This was a Hunter’s crossbow with fantastic attributes.

Remnant Dream had collected enough equipment from both Bosses that the others didn’t have much to say in response to her taking it. All they could ask was for the lucky little girl to not loot her own equipment all the time.

The third Boss was Shade of Akama.

Akama was the leader of Ashtongue Deathsworn. This organisation was composed of broken Draenei. They appeared to support Illidan, but actually secretly planned to remove them. The Shade of Akama was part of Akama’s soul that had been separated by Illidan’s spell. This part was absolutely loyal to Illidan.

In short, Akama was now just a poor and pitiful creature.

They had to talk to Akama before they could activate the Boss. The overall process of the battle was to kill the guide and the wizard before they could free the Shade to fight it.

Before the Shade of Akama broke free from its bonds, various monsters from the Ashtongue army would rush into battle to interfere.

When the Shade of Akama was unleased, he would rush towards Akama in a fierce confrontation.

No one could distract it.

After the Shade of Akama had been unleashed, Lu Li and the others needed to dispose of the other low HP monsters and then try to control the Shade. The whole group was fired up and poured out all of their attacks.

The Shade of Akama’s attack strength was very high. Under an offense like this, Akama could only survive for one minute. The Shade of Akama had to be killed before this time was up.

Fortunately, they received some help from Akama. Akama’s attacks on the Shade would apply a poison that increased damage taken by the Shade by 5%, and this could be stacked indefinitely.

This Boss dropped three Epic items, and they were all Plate Armors.

For the fourth Boss, Lu Li chose to fight Gurtogg Bloodboil.

The defeated Magtheridon was put in Hellfire Citadel by Illidan. Instead of killing Magtheridon, Illidan took his blood to make a Fel Orc that would serve him.

Demon’s blood was like a drug for Orcs. It made them berserk, hyperactive and more cruel. This crazed status effect often brought many negative effects too. Many Orcs became restless and went insane. Some died immediately because they could not handle the strong stimulus. Only a small portion of Orcs could keep a clear head while gaining the powers of a demon.

Gurtogg Crackhammer was a hard worker at the furnaces.

His father used to be a well-known solider in the Orc Horde. Gurtogg had worshipped his father. He had dreamed on more than one occasion of leading a small army to fight on the battlefield against the enemy.

However, after waking up, he would remember that he was just a manual labourer.

Gurtogg longed for strength.

Only Demon’s Blood could give him the strength he wanted.

However, a humble labourer like him might not ever be a candidate to become a Fel Orc in his lifetime.

So one night, he went into the laboratories where Fel Orcs were made.

The laboratories were full of jars of blood. Most of it had been taken from Magtheridon. There was some well-known blood and some unknown demon blood. There were also some mysterious potions. Although these were all labelled, Gurtogg couldn’t read them.

Since this was a unique opportunity, he drank all the liquids that he could find.

He didn’t know what would happen. He just felt his skin burn and an energy swell up inside him that he couldn’t expel. He felt like he was about to explode and saliva dripped from his mouth. There was a cloud of smoke coming from where he was standing and his consciousness was fading.

He looked up and found his father standing in front of him, but a human officer nearby raised his blade and cut his father in half.

Gurtogg made a low growl and threw himself at the human officer. Blood was flowing from his eyes, staining them red.

However, this was just a hallucination. He moved through it, hit his head against the wall and fainted.

Three days later, Gurtogg was sent to Illidan’s Stronghold, the Black Temple, as the most successful Fel Orc sample. They put thick armor on him which was engraved with a few words:

“Gurtogg Bloodboil”!

This Boss dropped the Blood-Cursed Shoulderpads, the Staff of Immaculate Recovery and the Shadowmoon Insignia.

The Blood-Cursed Shoulderpads were a piece of magic equipment. The Staff of Immaculate Recovery was a valuable healing staff and the Shadowmoon Insignia was a defensive ornament ranked among the top defensive ornaments in this patch.
