“I’m extremely grateful for your help, my Dwarven brothers. Thank you to both of you adventurers too.”
Varian, or Gorosh, finally decided to trust Lu Li and Water Fairy, who had been fighting alongside them all along.
Since since he trusted Water Fairy and Lu Li, he now treated them as one of his own.
According to how gladiators were and their habits, they did not turn their back on unknown people. They would always be wary. However, Gorosh alone walked to the Dwarves, seemingly protecting Lu Li and Water Fairy.
The Dwarves were holding onto their battle rams, so they could climb upon their rams and attack them at any moment.
“Varian! What are you doing?” the lead Dwarf, Thargas Anvilmar, removed his helmet and yelled. Dwarves were an extremely prideful group, let alone being the descendant of the King of the Mountains. Even upon meeting the Varian, Thargas wasn’t going to kneel before even the king of the Humans.
“You...know me?” Gorosh hadn’t remembered anything, but he already began questioning his identity.
If he was a normal gladiator, then these Defias thugs would not prevent him to seek the truth in Stormwind City. If what these Dwarves said was true, then it was extremely likely that his identity was involved in a large conspiracy.
Even as he was fighting as a slave, he knew that Stormwind City’s king was always in Stormwind City.
“Varian, son of Llane...This is incomprehensible.”
Thargas scanned the people with Varian and asked, “Do you think the world is at peace now? How can you only bring these weaklings with you?”
The Tauren chuckled. The Blood Elf remained expressionless. Lu Li muttered curses under his breath. Water Fairy eyes were pinpointed on Thargas’ throat, as if she wanted to slash it.
“I hope to have your protection and take me to Stormwind City,” Gorosh said.
If he really was the king of Stormwind City, then who was that in the city? There must have been a conspiracy a place. As he was the unyielding and unshaking side of Varian, he would never retreat.
“You have come at the wrong time, human. We have another mission. You all should look for a place to hide first,” Thargas said as he placed his helmet on his head.
His words always brought a tone of hate and contempt. They weren’t very pleasant.
However, getting rid of these people was for the best in this situation.
“If there is a battle, then we can help you. You haven’t introduced yourself.”
Gorosh quickly bandaged himself and waved his great two-handed sword around, showing off his immense strength and power.
“Thargas. Thargas Anvilmar. Who exactly are you?
“That’s not important. However, you can call me Gorosh. Let us fight together! Who is our enemy?” Gorosh asked.
“A group of scum. You probably have heard of Dun Modr...” Thargas said, with a hateful tone in his voice.
“I know him. Dun Modr is located in the southern marsh area between Lordaeron and Khaz Modan, at Thandol Span. Our people have travelled there before. They were rebuilding the area there before, and now it has once again been engulfed in flames?” The Druid, Broll Bearmantle asked curiously.
“Someone tried to destroy the Thandol Span. Those cowards from Dun Modr have all fled. The city has been invaded by the evil Dark Iron Dwarves.”
“So you want to take back the city, is that right? Gorosh asked.
“Yes. My life mission is to protective Thandol Span. No matter who and how many of them comes, they will have to face my hammer,” Thargas responded.
“Actually, I am also investigating this. We are from a group, but I cannot say who it is. However, what I can say, is that we’re definitely on your side,” Lu Li interjected, using this opportunity to explain why he was here.
“Oh, what have you found?” Gorosh was interested.
“Thandol Span is the only path that connects the marsh to the Arathi Highlands. It is an important strategic position to have. There must be a reason as to why the Dark Iron Dwarves have attacked this place,” Lu Li said.
“This is rubbish!” a Dwarf beside Thargas Anvilmar interrupted.
“Shut up, Hajima! Let him continue,” Thargas rebuked the Dwarf. Immediately, the Dwarf stopped talking and never opened his mouth again.
“We found that they are connected to Twilight’s Hammer,” Lu Li continued.
“Twilight’s Hammer!” Thargas Anvilmar’s boomed, “Me, along with others, have always just thought that they were just a bunch of crooked Dark Iron Dwarves. I didn’t expect that these Dwarves were cultists!”
“There are three people that we need to deal with – Calamoth Ashbeard, Golem Lord Argelmach and High Interrogator Gerstahn.”
Lu Li already knew this beforehand.
“I know about two of them, but who is Gerstahn?” Thargas Anvilmar asked angrily.
“She is one of the Twilight’s Hammer’s members. She is their interrogator. I planned to assassinate her, but she is quite powerful. Furthermore, she is under the heavy protection of many Dark Iron Dwarven warriors, so I have never been able to do so,” Lu Li replied.
“Okay. You are trustworthy. If you are not afraid of dying, then I invite you to battle with us at Thandol Span.”
Thargas Anvilmar finally trusted Lu Li and Water Fairy, and this guy who looked like Varian.
In the end, they were limited. It was already difficult to face the Dark Iron Dwarves, but there was also the Twilight Hammer too.
Thargas Anvilmar wasn’t interested in fighting for power, which was why he didn’t have the complete support of the Ironforge.
Lu Li and Water Fairy received a major quest called ‘The Battle of Thandol Span’. If everything went as expected, then the rewards would be quite impressive.
They received reinforcements from the Dwarves and set out immediately for Thandol Span. The guards were already fighting against the Dark Iron Dwarves.
Compared to the Defias Thugs that used pure numbers to overpower their enemies, these Dark Iron Dwarves that were brainwashed by the Twilight’s Hammer were much more dangerous. Furthermore, there were also three Wild Bosses leading them.
Lu Li didn’t change his tactics either. The Night Watch was already attacking the nest of the Defias thugs, which forced the thugs to flee and retreat.
Taking down an NPC also had its own rewards. Naturally, these rewards were quite abundant and the loot was also quite valuable.
