The God Virus

Volume 2 - 86 Anyone?

So his only choice was to shake his head as he replied, "There is none, but let’s experiment on my cup for now, maybe there is something in it."

As there was no better alternative right now, Electro could only agree with Viper’s suggestion as she stated, "Okay, then let’s do your suggestion, but before that... for God sake...why are you acting like you’re feeling even better than me? Don’t you see you’re bleeding? Skin, go help Viper tend his cut off arm, and then... afterward, give the cup to one of our members so as to run all the possible experiments and tests on it."

Heeding the order, Skin helped Viper walk out as they left room toward the elevator.

It seemed this place was an underground floor with only the three of them inside this particular one.

Getting inside the elevator, they left to another floor which had the first aid and medical stuff.

But when the elevator’s door opened, after they took a couple of steps out of the elevator, what they witnessed shook them to their very core as they stood there completely frozen, watching the scene in front of them which was dreadful even to them who were professional assassins.

After a while of being shocked into an absolute daze, they finally started getting a grip of their senses.

The first one who spoke was the bleeding Viper who muttered with a shaky voice, "Wh...What did happen here? What... is going on?!"

On each floor of this hidden base of Heaven Assassination, there were around fifty people, now some of them were assassins while some were not, but all of them worked for their assassination organization and had specific duties like intelligence-gathering or doing some other matters.

And right now, what the two right-hand and left-hand men were witnessing in front of them was a complete silence, but this silence was not because the place was empty, no! On the contrary, the place was very much filled with people currently.

Seeing this scene in front of them they were both shaken very badly. Now, the reason as to why they were shaken wasn’t because this place which was usually noisy was currently absolutely silent, what shook them was that the people which filled the space of the floor were all currently... dead!

Seeing these many corpses made them unable to think straightly for a while, about what was going on exactly in front of them.

"I...I... What...?!" This was the only reply Skin could give him at the moment as his attention was completely on the scene of dead people in front of them.

Now, if these dead bodies were people who they didn’t know, they might not have reacted this intensely and at most, they would’ve been a little shocked by the number of the dead bodies which even they as assassins rarely saw, because they mostly only dealt with one target at a time.

What they were witnessing was fifty dead bodies of the people they were very familiar with, some of them were their underlings, while they viewed some of them as their juniors or brothers about whom they cared very deeply from the bottom of their hearts.

But now, they were suddenly witnessing their dead corpses, they even remembered talking to some of them just a while ago, but now they were dead and gone.

Finally, after getting a grip of themselves, both of their eyes started turning bloodshot, and while they both were gritting their teeth in strong hatred, Viper yelled, "WHOOO! WHO WOULD DARE DO SUCH A THING TO OUR MEN?!"

At the same time, Skin, who was burning in fury and hatred as well, as his eyes were about to bleed because of the anger that was apparent in them, punched the wall beside them with his right hand without saying anything, while still supporting Viper with his left hand.

The wall that was hit by all his might exploded, breaking into pieces in the location of the punch, making a hole in it.

But he still wasn’t saying anything at all as he just stared at the dead bodies in front of him with absolute coldness and fury in his eyes.

Viper, who by now could almost think logically suddenly had a notion passing through his mind which made his already pale face even paler as he anxiously mumbled, "Let’s go check the other floors." His voice was lower than his normal voice because by now, he had lost too much blood and was almost on the verge of collapsing, but what he cared about more even in this kind of situation was not his injured body, but that terrifying notion that had passed through his mind.

Right now, he only wanted to make sure his whimsical thought was wrong, he even prayed that it would be wrong.

Listening to his weak voice, Skin who was very furious came to himself a little, and became worried about Viper as he spoke, "Let’s take care of your injuries first, we will do that after you’re no longer bleeding."

After that, no longer listening to the weak Viper who was trying to reject this suggestion, he brought him to a room where five dead bodies lay in eternal sleep as he started taking care of Viper very professionally like a real doctor.

First, he took off the clean cloth by which Viper was putting pressure on his cut off hand and then started doing other necessary stuff, while also transferring him new and fresh blood.

Two hours later, Viper was finally good to go, and even some color had returned to his pale face.

"Let’s go check the other floors now." He spoke these words with a grave face, they had been here for two hours but no one came to this floor, this could only mean one thing and he understood what it was, but still unwilling to believe before seeing it with his own eyes, he tried to get up when Skin put his hand on his shoulder making him lay again.

"You rest, I’ll go check the other floors and then I’ll be back." Skin advised him while shaking his head.

But not listing to him at all, Viper rejected his good intentions as he replied with a louder tone, "No, it’s not the time to rest right now, and I have to see it with my own eyes!"

Listening to his words, Skin knew it would be in vain to try to persuade him anymore, so he respected his decision as he would’ve made the same decision in a situation like this.

Then, helping him stand on his feet, he started supporting him again as they left the floor into the elevator while walking among the dead bodies of their comrades and underlings as they gritted their teeth with all their might.

Then, visiting another floor with both hope and fear, they witnessed things that made them completely despair, because there was another floor filled with dead bodies in front of them.

This made them have a bad premonition of what if everyone had died, which made them filled with dread even thinking about it.
