Chapter 32
Chapter 32
Anderson replied without the slightest hesitation: "You look good."
Chloe frowned: "Tell the truth."
Anderson looked at her, somewhat puzzled: "That is the truth."
The teenager's brows furrowed slightly, seeming unable to understand the meaning behind Chloe's words.
Chloe stared at him for a while, then gave up, and enthusiastically looked towards the Elf Race chief:
"Actually, I've always thought she looks very good, but didn't dare to go find her to play together."
Vampires like beautiful things, people are the same.
The Elf Race chief's name was Katherine. If she was the lone, holy moon, then Chloe was the alluring, dangerous red rose.
The two were evenly matched, but in Anderson's eyes, his little miss still looked a bit better.
They didn't lower their voices at all when speaking, and Katherine heard very easily.
She clenched her fingers, took out an airsoft gun, and walked to Chloe, her expression rather cold: "Compete with me."
Her tone carried the arrogance inherent to the Elf Race.
But Chloe didn't feel offended at all. Her eyes even lit up slightly as she smiled: "Sure."
Then she took the airsoft gun that Anderson had been fiddling with: "Let's go."
The two of them went to the shooting range.
Daniel, busy as he was, glanced at the two of them, then voluntarily retreated to the side.
Katherine was loading bullets into the airsoft gun, her voice like freshly melted spring snow, clear and cold:
"During the previous stealth training, your marksmanship was very good."
Chloe's dark red eyes fell on her silver-white hair. She nodded: "Yes, I think so too."
Katherine: ".....Let's compete."
She probably had never seen someone with thicker skin than Chloe.
How could she compliment herself with such a straight face?
Chloe raised the corners of her lips, her entire being radiating an aura of excitement: "It would be my honor."
The two of them stood facing the targets, separated by a distance. They raised the airsoft guns in their hands, and pulled the trigger almost simultaneously.
Bullseye.
The Elf Race had keen senses by nature, and were skilled with bows and arrows as well as shooting. As for Chloe, her proficiency in marksmanship was honed through round after round of inhuman training.
For a time, it was hard to determine a winner.
The accuracy over here was astounding. Every shot hit dead center of the target. Their hands held the airsoft guns without ever putting them down, shooting at an extremely fast pace. Daniel even wondered if they were aiming at the targets at all.
This speed... was it really something cubs their age could achieve?
Daniel secretly clicked his tongue in wonder. Finally, he stopped peeking at them and honestly started practicing on his own.
The shooting sounds of the airsoft guns weren't very loud, but in this spacious training room, they were especially noticeable.
The two young cubs stood ramrod straight, expressions resolute.
Of course, only Katherine was resolute.
It didn't take long for Chloe to start feeling bored.
No way, how much longer were they going to compete? What was the prize for this competition?
Although she was very happy to compete with the beauty next to her, standing here for so long was still boring.
After shooting another bullet, Chloe turned to look at Katherine and whistled, the kind of rogue whistle often heard from street punks:
"Beauty, want to take a break?"
Katherine pressed her lips tightly together, ignoring her.
And so, Chloe reluctantly fired another two shots or so: "If you want to play with me, I'll make especially delicious strawberry cake. Come to my dorm, I'll make it for you to eat, okay?"
Her tone was like coaxing a child.
But actually, all of this was nonsense. When could Chloe make cake? The only one who could make cake was Anderson.
Katherine fiercely knitted her brows twice: "What are you doing?"
Chloe blinked her big, innocent eyes: "Making cake, of course."
Katherine: "....."
She put the airsoft gun away, changing the topic: "Your shooting is very powerful."
Chloe raised an eyebrow: "Of course, shall we go play next?"
Katherine gave her a complex look: "I didn't come here to play with you."
Upon hearing this, Chloe was visibly somewhat disappointed, but she soon cheered up:
"It's fine, I can invite you to come play."
Daniel on the side couldn't help but cut in: "You still have to supervise my shooting."
Chloe looked at him, her gaze noticeably disdainful: "You're so old already. You still need someone to watch you train?"
Daniel: "......"
He angrily fired another two shots.
Just then, Anderson stood up from his seat: "Time for class, it's the Head Instructor's lesson."
Upon his words, the other three people paused in unison.
No one dared provoke Ren Yunying.
Daniel was the first to abandon his airsoft gun and rush out.
Chloe could only give up teasing the beauty. She followed Anderson towards the training grounds.
Ren Yunying's classes were never indoors. They had always been on the training grounds.
Their cohort of new students stood in neat rows. Once again, Ren Yunying pushed them onto the track.
She had on a refreshing military uniform, a whistle hanging around her neck: "Warm up with a 5 kilometer run before class. Any objections?"
The crowd: "....."
Who would dare object?
Naturally, there were none.
Ren Yunying nodded satisfactorily: "Then it's good. Now, start running!"
The whistle sounded. Everyone dashed forward at full speed.
This time, no one paid attention to team formations. They all ran freely, the team a complete mess, but the speed was still fast.
Chloe and Anderson were at the front of the pack, followed closely by Qin Huaibei and Daniel. The four of them ran at the very front, with only Katherine lagging behind.
Halfway through the run, Chloe always couldn't resist looking back to catch a glimpse of that beauty. After turning back an unknown number of times, Anderson beside her suddenly sped up again.
Chloe was startled, and quickly gave chase, no longer able to look back.
After a lap, a few of them were somewhat out of breath.
Ren Yunying looked at them while holding a stopwatch, nodding satisfactorily: "Not bad, even faster speed."
How could they not be faster? Anderson didn't know what madness had gotten into him today, exerting all his strength dashing forward. Chloe naturally refused to fall behind, her legs churning swiftly. Qin Huaibei and Daniel behind them could only stare at their trailing dust.
After everyone finished running, Ren Yunying gathered and had them stand at attention. She told them that they would be learning hand-to-hand combat this lesson.
Ren Yunying stood before everyone: "The No. 1 Military Academy has its own unique combat techniques. I will teach them one by one to you all today. From now on, if anyone fails to utilize the methods I teach, they will be subject to flogging punishment."
As she spoke, her gaze landed on Chloe in warning:
"Especially you."
