Chapter 82: She Should Hate Him
Chapter 82
Ling Yue couldn't stand Qin Lie anymore. She stomped on his foot fiercely and walked past him towards the exit. Earlier, she didn't change seats when the plane was about to take off, but now that it had landed, there was no way she was sitting with him.
Qin Lie watched Ling Yue's figure, helpless yet indulgent, as he smiled. As long as Ling Yue calmed down, he would gladly endure having both his feet stomped on.
Lan Ji caught up with Ling Yue and walked towards the cabin door with her. "Yue Yue, how did your talk with Qin Lie go?" His original seat was with Yue Yue, but Qin Lie found him and said he needed to talk to Yue Yue, asking to switch seats with him, and he agreed without hesitation.
Ling Yue gave Lan Ji a cold glance.
"Are you angry, Yue Yue?" Feeling Ling Yue's anger, Lan Ji felt a bit anxious.
Ling Yue snorted coldly and stepped forward. Shouldn't he have asked for her opinion before switching seats with Qin Lie?
Lan Ji caught up with Ling Yue. "Yue Yue, I was wrong. Can you forgive me this time? I promise there won't be a next time." Even if Qin Lie was his good friend, he wouldn't have agreed to switch seats if he knew it would make his sister angry. He just couldn't understand why his sister disliked Qin Lie so much, especially since they barely knew each other before.
"Not setting a precedent."
"Okay, I'll never make you angry again, and I won't switch seats no matter who asks me." Lan Ji raised three fingers to make his promise.
Ling Yue curved her lips.
Seeing Ling Yue smile, Lan Ji breathed a sigh of relief. "Yue Yue, I've already told Grandpa and Grandma. We'll leave for the Valley of Divine Doctors early tomorrow morning. They're so happy about it."
Thinking about her conversation with the two elderly people earlier, Ling Yue's heart softened a bit.
"Yue Yue." Tang Xin ran over and held Ling Yue's hand reluctantly. "I'm leaving now. When will you be free? Let's go shopping together?" After this time together, her relationship with Ling Yue had improved.
"I'm going to go back with Big Brother, so it might have to wait until school starts." Ling Yue said. As for the rough stones she took pictures of, someone from Myanmar would have them shipped over, which would probably take about a week to get to Jing City. By the time she came back from the Valley of Divine Doctors, they should be almost here.
"Okay then." Tang Xin sounded a bit disappointed. She wanted to go shopping with Ling Yue tomorrow.
"If I come back early, I'll call you."
"Great." Tang Xin smiled happily.
Qin Lie followed Ling Yue not too far away, watching her every move, with a hint of smile on his lips. If one day she could smile at him like that, it would be great.
Granny Xu knew that Ling Yue and Lan Ji were coming back today, so she had prepared a table full of good food.
Hearing the door open, Granny Xu hurriedly walked out of the house. "Young Master Lan Ji! Little Miss! You're back."
She walked up and reached out to take the bag from Ling Yue's hand.
"It's not heavy. I can carry it myself." Ling Yue smiled and refused.
"Then you two go back to the room, put away your luggage, wash your hands, and we can eat." Granny Xu smiled at the pair, realizing she forgot to buy drinks. "I'll go out and get a couple of bottles of drinks. What would you like?"
"Anything's fine," Ling Yue said, carrying her bag and heading inside.
Pushing the door open, the room was just as clean as when she left, showing Granny Xu's dedication to keeping it tidy every day.
Lan Ji placed the luggage down. Hearing a knock at the door, he opened it to find Qin Lie outside, somewhat surprised. "How come you're here?"
"I'm staying next door," Qin Lie gestured towards the adjacent courtyard.
Lan Ji's eyes flashed with understanding. He approached and whispered, "Are you really interested in my sister?"
"Yes," Qin Lie admitted frankly.
"But it seems like my sister isn't very fond of you," he intended to say 'it seems like my sister really dislikes you,' but considering this was Qin Lie's first time showing interest in a girl, he didn't want to be too blunt.
"I know," Qin Lie's gaze turned melancholic. If he could do it all over again, he would still make the same choice, just to protect Yue, even if she hated him, he wouldn't regret it.
Hearing footsteps, Qin Lie looked up.
Ling Yue had known Qin Lie was coming; she was a cultivator, naturally having better hearing than ordinary people.
"Yue, I'd like to talk to you," Qin Lie looked at Ling Yue, a hint of anticipation in his eyes.
"We have nothing to talk about," Ling Yue's tone was icy as she walked to the well to wash her hands.
Qin Lie stood next to Ling Yue, "Yue, I know you hate me, but can you give me a chance to explain?"
Ling Yue looked up at Qin Lie, frostiness coating her delicate face. "Qin Lie, no matter what happened in the past, I don't want any further involvement with you. Don't show up in front of me again, or I might not be able to stop myself from killing you."
"As long as you can forgive me, I'm willing to die by your hand," Qin Lie gazed earnestly at Ling Yue.
Clutching her fist, Ling Yue's hand tightened incessantly. She hated herself, why did her heart ache uncontrollably every time she saw him? She should be hating him instead.
Turning away, she left Qin Lie with a cold back.
Lan Ji walked up to Qin Lie, placing his hand on his shoulder. "What's going on between you and my sister?"
Qin Lie remained silent, removing Lan Ji's hand and walking away. He would come back for Yue at night.
Lan Ji glanced at the departing Qin Lie, then back at the house, shrugging before heading inside.
The Ling family had fallen on hard times lately. Ling Tianzheng made numerous calls, but no one was willing to help. Finally, through connections, he found out that Lan Ji was the one going against the Ling family.
After some inquiries, he found out that Lan Ji was somehow involved with Ling Yue.
Looking at the courtyard in front of him, Ling Tianzheng hesitated for a long time before deciding to knock on the door.
"Is that Ling Tianzheng?" Granny Xu returned with the drinks, spotting someone standing at her doorstep. As she got closer, she recognized Ling Tianzheng, somewhat surprised. Was he here to see the Little Miss?
Ling Tianzheng might be the father of Little Miss, but he had never fulfilled his duties as a father, so she harbored no fondness towards him.
Turning around, Ling Tianzheng saw Granny Xu, unsurprised. "I've come to check on Yue Yue."
Granny Xu approached with a cold demeanor and opened the door ahead.
Following Granny Xu into the courtyard, Ling Tianzheng found it small yet exuding an understated elegance, radiating warmth and comfort.
"Little Miss! Young Master Lan Ji!" Granny Xu paid no heed to Ling Tianzheng, proceeding into the house on her own accord.
Ling Tianzheng trailed behind Granny Xu and upon seeing Ling Yue inside, he froze. Her face had remarkably healed.
