The Girl Who Married a Tycoon Husband After Disfigurement

Chapter 39: Fail Again

Chapter 39

As Jiang You pushed open the door and entered the lounge, he had just closed the door behind him when he sensed someone was there. He quickly turned around to see two tall men dressed in black standing in front of him. Alarmed, he took a few steps back. "Who are you?"

The men in black stared coldly at Jiang You, took out knives, and menacingly waved them. "Come with us, or don't blame us for being impolite." Although their goal was to eliminate Jiang You, acting here would be different from acting in the suburbs.

Jiang You stepped back again until his back was against the wall. He took out his phone. "If you don't leave, I'll call the police."

The men in black sneered coldly, playing with the knives in their hands. "You're welcome to try. Let's see if you can call the police faster than our knives reach you."

Jiang You clenched his fists, trying to calm himself down. "If you have any demands, just say them. As long as I can do it, I'll agree to anything, as long as you don't hurt me."

"Come with us."

"Just say what you want to say here." Jiang You's mind raced, looking for a way to escape. He glanced at the window nearby. The door was closed, leaving only the window as an escape route, but this was the second floor. Jumping would certainly cause injury, but it was his only hope now.

With that thought, he dashed towards the window.

Seeing this, the two men rushed at Jiang You. The area below the company was crowded. If Jiang You jumped out, it would certainly cause a commotion, and their mission today would fail. Thinking of how ruthless their superior could be in punishing them, the two men shuddered involuntarily.

Jiang You forced open the window, preparing to climb out, but the two men in black had already reached him, their knives thrusting towards his back.

Jiang You could even hear the sound of the knives slicing through the air. Was he really unable to escape?

At that moment, he heard two heavy thuds behind him.

Jiang You turned around, puzzled, and saw an unbelievable sight that made his mouth hang open. The two men in black were lying on the ground, their own knives stabbed into their bodies, blood gushing out.

It took Jiang You a while to come to his senses. He hurriedly took out his phone and called the police.

After the two men in black were taken away and Jiang You had given his statement at the police station, he still felt like he was in a dream as he left. He had narrowly escaped death twice today, and the circumstances of both escapes were quite bizarre.

Recalling what Ling Yue had told him earlier, he touched his forehead. "Could I really have a black mark on my forehead?"

He took out the talisman Ling Yue had given him and saw that two corners of the previously intact talisman had turned black. Connecting this to his two narrow escapes, Jiang You was deeply shaken. "This talisman really worked." His respect for Ling Yue grew, and he was once again convinced that she was no ordinary person. He had to get on good terms with her.

Yukihiko Oda received a call informing him that not only had his two subordinates failed their mission, but they had also stabbed themselves. Furious, smoke seemed to pour out of the seven orifices of his head.

"Damn it! I can't believe they can't even handle a small fry like Jiang You." Yukihiko Oda's face twisted as he paced around the room, thinking of ways to deal with Jiang You. But before that, he had to take care of his two injured men, lest they cause him trouble.

He walked to the desk, picked up the phone, and made a call, telling the person on the other end a few things. A satisfied smile appeared on his lips. As for Jiang You, he could let him live for two more days. Once the person Yukihiko found arrived, that would be Jiang You's death date.

Jiang You didn't sleep all night and got up before five o'clock. He carefully reviewed the contract he had drafted several times, triple-checking that there were no omissions, before finally putting it away in the drawer with relief.

He glanced at his watch and saw that it was only a little past seven o'clock. He shook his head helplessly. "Why is time passing so slowly?" He was eager to see Ling Yue and ask her if she had any more talismans that she could give him. After his two near-death experiences yesterday, he felt uneasy.

Finally, at 8:30 a.m., Jiang You arrived at the company entrance, craning his neck and eagerly awaiting Ling Yue's arrival. Before, he felt that a morning passed quickly, but today, he felt like time was dragging on endlessly.

At last, he spotted a familiar figure and broke into a happy smile, quickly walking over to greet Ling Yue. "You're finally here. Please, come in."
