Chapter 106: A Reason for Caution

Chapter 106: A Reason for Caution

There is still a limit to how strong Zeke is and, fighting five generals in their [Primal State] definitely includes this. But it is not because he can't finish them all off. In fact, he can win against them but, the aftermath of the fight would probably be too devastating that most of Zeke's quests would fail and, if there's anything that Zeke does not like, it's failed missions in games.

"This'll take too much toll on me." Zeke said out loud, preparing a spell to end the fight immediately without causing more damage to the surroundings.

He [Conjured] monsters right in front of the generals who have just activated their [Primal State]. The summoned creatures touched the generals but, received no response.

From the intel gathered by Zeke, he knows that there is a five second delay before someone could move after transforming to their [Primal State]. They are invulnerable within this time but, it doesn't mean that nothing could be done to them.

"Mass Link Transportation." Zeke said which, immediately released a lot of mana from him. The five generals disappeared immediately and, in their place are trees found on the forest where Zeke stayed at on his first year.

"Phew, that's exhausting." He uttered, slouching to the ground and getting the desired results.

The skill he just used is something he bought for good measure. There have been a lot of instances where, enemies of the highest caliber fought against him. Most of the time, these creatures were lured toward him, making him face dangers with each and every turn. And if there's one thing that Zeke understood from these encounters, it's that it isn't always necessary to finish them off. Especially if they have a time limit set with their life or their transformation.

Within the time spent by Zeke hiding, he was able to gather more information on things. One of these is about the [Chimeras] which actually had limited lives. Had he known this earlier on and, if only he had a way to transport them, then he wouldn't have gone through the hassle of fighting the unfairly strong beasts.

Furthermore, even king Gallio's ultimate form has a time limit. If Zeke had the transportation skill back then, he would've been able to drain the time limit of Gallio's transformation. With all these regrets being carried over by Zeke to his next body, he made sure that he'd obtain a skill of this sort.

Thus, Zeke bought [Mass Link Transportation]. At a costly price of [50] skill points, the spell swaps any physical entity, be it living or non-living, with another entity from another area which could also be either living or non-living.

[Mass Link Transportation] does not have a limit on where it could bring the opponent. But this needs to satisfy three conditions.

[First Condition: The destination must be one which the caster has physically gone to before.]

[Second Condition: A mark must be made on both targets of the spell. Mana would be imbued onto the item, registering the spell to work on swapping the locations of those marked.

[Third Condition: Depending on the range and the total power of the enemy, the amount of mana to be used differs. Hence if Zeke has a low mana pool, the skill won't work. Especially with five individuals who scales on the same power level as Gallio himself.

"It's not my style but, this is the safest way to do things." Zeke said to himself, collecting all the loot automatically with another skill called [Winner Takes All].

With all these being done and dealt with, he came back to the farm. Amare can only laugh at the spectacle she just saw. She explained the whole thing to the other elites who felt their efforts go to waste.

"He did what?" Gawain said.

"I swear, the enemies suddenly turned into a bunch of trees." Amare said, wanting to convince even herself of this fact.

"Are you sure that you can still see things clearly?" Curio stated.

"Yeah I mean, we're all in a pretty bad shape. You must've been seeing things." Mordred continued.

But before Amare could give a response, Zeke was already standing right in front of them, raising his hand and saying:

"Sup."

There was a short moment of surprise of course. But with the fight that just happened, They've somehow made the assumption that - the silver haired elf is an ally.

"Seriously? You're not done healing until now?" He continued, walking straight towards Quinn.

"Wait!" Jake said, holding up his javelin to stop him. Zeke smiled at this and, waited for what the human would say.

"I've got no idea who you are but, if you try anything funny" Zeke didn't even let Jake finish his sentence. His years of hiding inside a cave has made him a bit impatient and so, just for fun, he released mana so menacing that Jake's arm lost its strength altogether.

"Careful where you point that spear. I'm not as kind as I seem." Zeke replied, returning to his carefree nature and saying that he'll heal Quinn.

"I thought you guys had everything covered. But at the rate you are going, this one will die." He said, pointing at Quinn.

"And this one will probably turn into a villain." He continued, pointing at Kaguya. He could clearly see the dark mana surrounding the human and, with his knowledge on mana, too much darkness will never produce anything good.

He took off his coat and, rolled up his sleeves. He then proceeded to emitting two different types of mana one on each of his hands. Everyone witnessed how elegant the process all seems.

Right at that moment, the elites have cleared all doubts on their minds. They wanted to ask who he is right away but, as soon as he finished healing Quinn and Kaguya, the farmers suddenly popped up out of nowhere. They flocked over Zeke and the elites, giving them an overflowing amount of appreciation.

A few hours passed after this and, the demons did all they could to attend to the needs of their saviors. Meanwhile, Zeke stayed on another house. One which is far away from all the others - refusing to sleep under the same roof as the group.

"I'd love it if you don't disturb me for a whole day." He said to the town elder, an instruction which the elder gladly followed. It is, after all, a small price to pay for all the help which Zeke offered them. Although, he hasn't even introduced himself nor the reasons as to why he came to their aide.

Meanwhile, the battered elites stayed quietly within their cabin. Aside from the fact that most of them are recovering from some serious damage, members such as Quinn have begun forming doubts on their heads. About how impossible the goal actually is and, about the probability of them even living through it.

The training with the main deities proved to be difficult of course. They have also been warned about all the dangers that they will face. But, with all the powers they gained, the elites seem to have forgotten that they are still human.

Even the superheroes from comic books have their weaknesses and, even the gods from myths could fall. They forgot this, just like how Achilles forgot his own mortality. And they paid the price for it dearly.

With a half dead Kaguya, an almost paralyzed Quinn, and the defender Vostok having most of his bones broken. And, most importantly, a wounded ego which may ever be regained. And on all their heads, there is a single thought circulating.

"We need to get stronger."

Meanwhile, within his own cabin, Zeke did his best to survive the backlash of all the power he released. He screamed in pain and agony, trashed the house all around but, nobody ever felt this nor heard it because Zeke has placed a special barrier within the house, preventing any damage to be done and, for any noise to be heard outside.

He clawed the floor and punched the ground over and over again. He screamed so hard that it would seem as if his vocal cords would snap any moment. Sweat came profusely and, all the mana formulas he stored within his own body began going haywire. But even more dangerous is the amount of heat he felt.

It was as if his body was burning altogether and he hated it so much. He hated the so called [Blessing] which he received and, he hated how the [Gamer's Body] was never acquired again. He hated the agonizing amount of pain and how he needed to endure it each and every time.

"I'm not going to give up. Nor will I lose ever again." He said to himself, slowly regaining all his senses and bearing with the feeling of all his body parts feeling like they'd be torn apart. Slowly, he collected mana, breathed more deeply and, tried his best to heal through all the damage.

Even with all the powers Zeke has acquired, he is still mortal. Even with Keith's body, one which has been blessed by both physical prowess and talent for mana control, Zeke needs to be careful. Through the years, he placed so much strain on it by pushing it over the limits countless times. He succeeded of course but, never managed to find the perfect balance to all his strength.

If he went a bit longer against the army, he would've been in such an unstable state that, his vessel would probably explode destroying the whole of the Demon Continent in the process. Of course, Zeke could escape through [Soul Transfer] but, that'd mean he'll return to square one.

"I'm not going to tolerate this any longer than I've already done." He said, mediating for the whole remainder of that day.
