Chapter 31 - Maria(2)
Chapter 31
Since Maria had only 51 Primal stones, she could either buy a mental healing pill or a dantian healing pill. She thought for a long time about what to buy.
After a long thought process, she finally decided what to buy. "Owner, I want to buy the dantian healing pill," She told Aakesh and pushed the pouch containing the stones with a heartbroken look.
The dantian healing pill cost 50 Primal stones, which were almost all of her savings. If the pill didn't work, she would lose too much not to be worried about the consequence.
"First-grade inferior dantian healing pill," Aakesh, instead of taking the pouch, expressionlessly corrected her.
"Huh!" Maria couldn't help but exclaim in wonderment at his response.
Seeing Aakesh not taking the pouch, she begrudgingly said, "Owner, I want to buy a first-grade inferior dantian healing pill."
"Good!" Aakesh said and moved toward the shelf to take out the pill.
"Owner, I have a question before you sell the pill to me," Maria spoke, stopping Aakesh in his actions.
"Go ahead," Aakesh responded.
"What if the pill doesn't work?"
"You'll get the pill for free and a hundred times the price of the pill as compensation," Aakesh responded expressionlessly as the system had already told him about it. He then took out the pill and handed it to Maria.
Maria gently and slowly took the pill as if it was the most important thing for her. After she took the pill, Aakesh snapped his fingers, and the next moment, the pouch containing Primal stones disappeared from the store.
The sudden disappearance of the pouch stunned Maria. She looked at Aakesh with a horrified expression. Only those who have achieved Void Forging can manipulate space. A Void forging expert at the same level as their king and acting as a store owner, she felt like her head would explode.
"Senior, are you a Void Forging expert?" Maria respectfully asked Aakesh. Her tone, completely different from before.
Aakesh confusedly looked at her and asked, "Why would you think so?"
"Senior, you just manipulated space."
"Oh, is that something special?" Aakesh curiously asked.
Maria didn't know what to answer to this. Many people will die for having the ability to manipulate space, and here, senior is insulting it as if it isn't anything special.
"I am not a Void Forging expert. You have bought your product. You can leave now," Seeing Maria silent, Aakesh spoke and told her to leave.
After hearing Aakesh, Maria didn't wait for a moment. She bowed to him and left the store.
"What an irritating woman!" Lily complained after Maria left the store.
"She just wanted to touch you. You're so cute after all," Aakesh said as he picked her up from his head.
"Hmph, I could snap her head off in a single swipe," Lily scoffed. He only smiled in response to her statement.
[Ding.]
[Congratulation, Host, for selling your first product in the store. 1% of the selling cost of the product has been submitted to your inventory. You can use that money on anything.]
[Host, see your screen for the quest.]
[Mission objective: Sell products to ten customers,
Requirement: You need to have multiple customers if you want to have a famous store. Sell ten products to your customers in a week,
Mission reward: A new product and addition in the pill varieties,
Failure punishment: Sales commission will be reduced to 0.5% of the product's price.]
Aakesh heard continuous announcements after that from the system. In the morning, the system told him that he would receive a commission of 1% for every product he sold. His commission will grow as he completes more quests in the future.
He then read the quests the system gave him. "10 customers in one week," After reading the mission objective, he mumbled.
Aakesh was able to accomplish the quest without much difficulty; the only problem was time. He still thought that it could take centuries for a newer customer to arrive in the store.

After leaving the store, Maria hurried to the hotel she stayed in. She wanted to eat the pill as soon as possible. After seeing Aakesh manipulating space, she had no doubts about the authenticity of the pill. Even though he refused that he wasn't a Void Forging expert, she believed he was just being modest.
After reaching the hotel, she rushed to the room she booked and closed the door after entering. She threw her clothes away and sat down naked in a meditative pose. There was no need to get naked, but she didn't want to ruin her clothes since she had become dirt poor now.
After taking out the pill from her space ring, she gazed at it intensely as if it were her most cherished possession. She inhaled and exhaled breath to calm her mind down. When her mind became serene without thinking of anything, she put the pill in her mouth.
In no time, the pill melted in her tongue and transformed into energy. The energy then made its way toward her dantian as if it was sentient without any help from Maria. She also let it do all the work and only witnessed the process.
The energy traveled through her vocal cord to her heart, and finally, it reached her dantian. Dantian was located on the base of her spine. Her dantian was blue in color, signifying her ability to manipulate the element of water.
The energy didn't bombard itself onto her dantian. It slowly started seeping inside it. After a few seconds, the last bit of energy successfully seeped onto her dantian, ending the process.
Maria waited for a few minutes to see any effect, but nothing changed in her dantian. She then tried to cultivate, but she stopped after feeling intense pain from it.
Her shoulder slumped down, seeing no results from the pill. A drop of tear streaked down her left cheek, but before it could leave her face, she wiped it and tried to smile.
"You can't cry. You've to stay strong," Maria whispered to motivate herself after the failure. She then stood up and went up to the mirror.
Maria had pale skin and a face pretty enough to be a queen. She frowned at her reflection, seeing a scar from her left breast to her private parts.. She couldn't help but remember the story behind the hideous scar.
