Chapter 85 Training III
Dustin just could not believe what was before his eyes, never would he have thought that the conscience of the system would returning anytime soon. He knew it would return, but he would have never thought it to be now.
According to the system, when he entered the room where Eir was, it was abruptly cut off from contacting Dustin.
...'No, I was not removed from your body; it was more like I couldn't access you or even the integral part of the system functions during that time.' The system gave an answer to one of Dustin's questions.
From what the system said, Dustin could understand what exactly must have happened. Eir mentioned that the space they were in was something of a separate dimension, more like a pocket dimension that was grounded into the current one, and Eir also mention that it was a special one he took time o create. The man is a freaking god level being, or at least almost god level being. Dustin could imagine it being relatively easy for him to do such a thing.
That aside, there was something Dustin made couldn't help but notice, and it was the system's wordings. The way it described what happened when answering his last question, it was clear that his system wasn't as simple as he thought it was. He knew that his system was special right from time, after all he got it even before he got into Na'ash, and his was 1000% greater than the one others possessed. The problem was he never pictured that the sentient part of his system would not actually be part of the system? 'I'm not sure, but it is possible like that. For now though, that can wait. It's not like I will get answers if I ask anyway.'
It wasn't like he went on to have an extend conversation about what happened while the system was out trying to 'catch up'. That was just useless. The first thing after the air about why the system had been offline all this time was cleared was a report about Dustin's wellbeing. Sort of.
The reason why Dustin has been eating the raw demon meat was to use the energy produced from it to strengthen his body, which was the source of the constitution stat initially. The energy from the meat is supposed to make him stronger overall, and even enhance his health and other things to an extent. This idea in itself was an ingenious idea by Eir, and this wasn't counting other possibilities and improvements Dustin could get from this process. In as much as there were many benefits, right at that moment, Dustin was nowhere near many of these benefits at all.
After the system analyzed Dustin's body, it found that there were some problems with it processing the raw and violent energy gotten from the meat, and it was not assimilating well with his own energy and body. Though this caused Dustin to worry a bit, because who wouldn't, his worries were quickly forgotten, gone as fast as they came. Finally, the system was back and all these troubling things could be taken care of easily. Really, Dustin had to thank the existence that bestowed upon him the system.
As for the fixing and correcting of the mishaps in his system, Dustin left it to the system and just focused on training for now. Seeing as Eir was trying to make him fucking Saitama, he didn't really have the time to be thinking about things that were already being taken care of. Good thing this wasn't the world of One Punch Man, if not he would be fucked as he would have lost his hair after all the training, and God knows Dustin did not want to expose the contortions hidden under that bushy black hair.
Dustin could really swear that Eir had been peaking outside of this realm into some otaku's bedroom and watching anime alongside that otaku. For the basic training, he had to do sit ups, push ups, squats, running/jogging was reserved for when he could withstand more weight, and Eir even added some advanced forms of these simple exercises. With the difficulty he had to keep up with, Dustin was sure this whole thing would stretch very well across a month, at the very least.
The problem of food was dealt with easily. Unlike the first time when he had to stand up, this time he ate just once a day, and really, the energy provided was enough to carry him through the entire day of doing this sort of training. It took Dustin around two months of constant training, failing and repeating the same routine over and over again before he was able to pull off a hundred reps of each of the exercises without pause in between reps. TOTALLY DRAINING.
'Really, if it wasn't for the meat and the magic, I would have been a walking corpses of bones by now, if not dead.'
"I must say, you did above what I expected this time, you really outperformed yourself." Eir said. He clearly wasn't expecting Dustin to achieve this goal so soon. "We can start the next phase of the training, but it will be hard.." Before Eir could continue, Dustin buds in.
"How hard?" Dustin said, sounding a little smug. After everything he had experienced, he couldn't imagine what would be more painful.
"Hehe, well.. enough to make what you have experienced so far child's play." Eir replied with what Dustin could swear was a smirk. Really, one can't fault Dustin for thinking this was some ritual ceremony to indoctrinate a new masochist.
With this though, EIr presented Dustin with two choices. He could start the next phase of training right away, or he could wait for something and train himself to be a bit stronger before he starts. Given these options, it was quite clear what Dustin chose..
"There's no way I'm throwing myself into a world of hurt if there's a way to lessen the pain, NOPE. I'll continue with this current routine for a while, and when I'm ready, we'll begin the next phase." Dustin said.
Now that the robe only felt like a few kg to Dustin, he was finally subjected to the infamous 10km run... Well, not really, but he now added some jugging to his exercises. The robe still did a good job of shifting weight so that exercising was tougher, but in the end it was worth it. Dustin couldn't wait for when he took it off and felt the difference, really... He could already imagine himself powering up like Goku after that.
"Heh.."
