Chapter 110 Shock Of A Lifetime I
*BAAANNNNNNNGGGGGGG!!!!
'That's!!..'
.
.
'Did I almost lose my life just now?'
'Did I accidentally use too much strength just now?' Dustin thought to himself.
"I'm sorry about that, I seemed to have gotten a bit exited just now." Said, Dustin, as he helped the man up.
'A bit?' Thought the man.
"It's no problem, damn! You're really stro…" He didn't finish his statement when a voice cut through the dust.
"What's going on!"
"Ahh, we seemed to have caused the leader worry."
Seeing the scene before him, the guild master understood the situation. "MARCUS!! YOU IDIOT!" He held.
It seemed like this Marcus was a regular trouble maker.
The man, who Marcus identified to be the Guild Leader came towards them. He seemed well built and had an imposing aura around him.
Marcus took it upon himself to explain the situation, and after that, the Leader's interest was piqued. He never expected someone would be so strong and yet so young.
'These people sure are strange. In my days you'd have to train for years.' The guild Leader said in his mind.
He had heard that there were these strange people around, but hadn't actually gotten to see one himself. The people of the land called them adventurers and such names, but the ones that were said to defy the natural flow of things, he had not seen up until now.
"Interesting. Is she also here with you?" The leader asked.
"Yes, we came together." Dustin answered.
"Forgive my manners, my name is Mastif, I am the guild master." The man said, after stretching a hand out towards the Dustin.
'Are you a dog?' Dustin thought.
Both Dustin and Marcus couldn't help but notice that he was been treated in a way that was not normal.
"I was actually carrying out the magic test for a special client." Mastif said. Dustin had mentioned that Rea was a magic oriented person, so she had no business with this physique assessment.
Mastif however, noted to Dustin that he would still needs to take the magic test even though he ws a fighter. Even though mages and those of similar fields didn't engage in physical aspects, fighters still used mana to perform their various arts.
Since the guild master was still in his office after assessing the special guest, the equipment for testing magic was naturally in his office. He led everyone there except Marcus, who remained at the training fields.
As they entered the guild master's office, the first thing they noticed was a window to the left, that had a view of the entire city, since it was actually a story building.
Mastif wasted no time and brought Rea before the measuring device. It stood by the side of the spacious room like a giant clock.
"All you need to do is place your hands wherever, around this section, and it will begin." Mastif said.
Rea did just that and placed her hand on the measuring device. It took about three seconds, and after that time, blue wisps appeared from her body and rampaged around quietly without affecting the surrounding much. At most, it caused an effect of a calm breeze blowing.
This was all part of the process, and at that moment, the sensitive ones downstairs immediately caught wind of what was happening, after all, it was quite a rare occasion.
"Looks like Miss Rea is a C rank, and since you are a mage, that's a C rank mage." Mastif said, with a smile on his face.
Hearing this, although Dustin did not show it, he was quite surprised. If he were to grade Rea based on real world performance, she would be D rank at most. 'Maybe she just needs to do more practice and get more experience.' Dustin thought.
It was also important to know how to use your strength and how to draw it out. As far as Dustin was concerned, she had never shown the might of anything above D rank. To think she couldn't even draw out her own strength to it's actual potential. He still had a lot of work to do.
"Your turn now, walk up to the measuring device and place your hand on it, you don't have to do anything, the device will work it out itself." Mastif said, looking at Dustin, then the measuring device.
The writing that had appeared on the device's body slowly faded away and disappeared.
Dustin walked up to the device and placed his hand on it.
'With the strength he showed earlier, he should be and A rank, maybe even peak A rank.' Mastif thought to himself. As these two had come to register under his guild, it was good that they were powerful.
VOOOM ZOOOONNGGG
'Noise? From the measuring plate?' Thought, Mastif. This was a first.
Before he could process the situation, wisps started appearing from dusting, only that this time these were not wisps, they resembled wild and angry dragon tendrils!
"Wh-what is this situation?" The guild leader, Mastif, asked himself.
This time, even those who were insensitive felt their minds and bodies suppressed by a great force. A monster had surely appeared in the guild building, and a ferocious one at that.
Dustin quickly removed his hand from the device, and drew back his aura that had spread allover.
'System, what's this? Am I actually that strong?'
=…=
Slowly, the aura dissipated, and everything returned to normal. The atmosphere that seemed to have turned rocky and stiff slowly let out, and before those in the room could even say anything, multiple people came barging into the guild master's office. The moment the door was pushed open, the unconscious body of the receptionist who came along with the guild master and the two fell to the ground. She wasn't as strong mentally as the others in the room, so she was severely affected.
Dustin swept his eyes towards Rea, but thankfully she didn't seem all that affected, he was relieved. If he had to look after her, it would just be bothersome.
"Guild master, what was that we felt a moment ago?!" Everyone asked.
Although the might of the aura they felt held no killing intent, it was very threatening and fierce.
"Hehe, well lads, you are looking at an S rank individual before you. Better show respect." The guild master said.
All eyes fell upon Dustin in an instant, and suddenly the wolves became meek sheep.
That day, Dustin left the guild building and achieved quite the level of fame, and his name was sure to spread that night. The new S rank in town.
Long after Dustin and Rea had left, the guild master still had the measuring device in his office, looking at it now, he was convinced.
'His power, it may even be above what he showed today.'
"I've never heard of the measuring device cracking after a test. There's no way this one is just old."
