Chapter 11 D-Day
The first day went by, and it passed. The second day which was also the last rolled by, and it also past. Then the Last day, the D-day came.
"Well Sil, it's today. Let's head to the roof so we'll get a good view."
"Yeah." Sil responded as they left their room and went to the roof.
From the roof, they could see a lot of the city, except for the other parts that had some complexes blocking the view. It was around 8:00 am, those who came out to wait for the apocalypse were outside, while majority remained indoors.
"Hey bro, I was gonna ask. Why did you bring so much meat? We are not carnivorous animals you know?"
"Shut up. It's mostly dried meat anyway. If whatever is coming cuts out the market from us, at least we'll have enough meat to last us for several months. I'm just thinking ahead."
"Sureee."
.
.
"Today is the day. I can see you two are prepared." A man said as he looked at two young men standing before him. This man was the current leader of the Gennan order, Arnold Burchard.
Between the brothers, Marcel was the older one while Nathan was the younger brother. Marcel was 34 years old, and Nathan was 25. Disregarding their age difference, both look almost like twins, except for the fact that one is visibly older than the other, embodying the full features of their father.
"It will be hectic, but you two are prepared, and will surely be able to survive, this I'm sure. If not for nothing, for the single fact that you are my own blood and flesh."
Just as the man was about to say something else, a familiar voice rang in their ears.
-People of Earth. The day has come. Ready yourselves.
-Those with the most potential and chance for survival will be chosen as earth's warriors.
-...
It was the voice they had heard a few days before. Just like before, it was like someone spoke directly to their minds, but they could still hear the voice with their ears.
At that exact moment, all around the world, a golden light started appearing around certain individuals. Those who the golden light shone upon couldn't move past a certain distance from where they stood, as the golden light that shown around them seem to be restricting their movements.
This caused an up roar all over the world. Family members burst out in tears, and people collapsing everywhere. Those who tried to break the through the golden light, both from within and out, all failed.
-In 3 minutes, the chosen warriors will be transported to a different realm.
The two brothers, Marcel and Nathan were surrounded by a bright golden light as they stood before their father.
"The prophecy has finally come father." Marcel said, with a stern face that resembled his father's, only difference being that he was younger.
"It is so. The messenger said three minutes, so listen carefully." Their father, Arnold said, as his eyes narrowed.
"Your goal is to survive and come out on top. Do not show mercy to anyone. Where you are going to is not earth, be ruthless, lest you lose your life. If you ever encounter anyone from the Willow order, kill them. Our brothers from Gent will support you, so whenever you meet, be accommodating. The rest I believe you know well."
"Yes father." Both answer in unison.
"Father, about those from Willow, do we really need to treat all of them in the same way?" Nathan asked as he's brows pushed together a bit, showing seriousness, or perhaps worry.
"You still hold feelings towards that Willow girl? She will be your downfall Nathan. Don't say I didn't warn you." Arnold said.
"I should have killed her back then" Words escaped under his breath before he spoke out. "You can not let her get between you and our goal. That will be betrayal. Do you understand?"
"Yes father." He said with voice weak and a little saddened.
"Good. Farewell my sons, may the path open up for you."
.
.
Elsewhere on a rooftop, Dustin and Sil were standing on the roof top waiting for when the apocalypse would start, when they heard a familiar voice in their ears.
The golden light had come over Dustin and two others that were also standing on the roofs of two other buildings respectively.
"Wah!! Bro what dafaq!? What's this thing around you? Is it a sign that you have been chosen?" Sil asked, with surprise in his tone.
"It seems so. Heh." Unlike Sil, Dustin didn't seem to be surprised at all. Instead, he maintained a calm state and looked around their neibourhood to see if there was someone else who had been chosen.
The golden light was quite bright, so he noticed the two who were on other building tops right away, but he couldn't find any other person. While looking over the visible plane with Sil at his back, then took in a deep breath. "3 minutes huh?"
"Sil, listen." He said as he turned back to face Sil.
"I know that you are smart. For fuck's sake, you're turning twenty soon, heh."
"Can't you give a good speech without ruining the moment? I agree I'm smart, but you are dumb."
"You bitch. Anyway, I'll leave this guy here." Dustin said as he summoned the Jaguar he tamed earlier, from the system space.
"Wahh!!" Sil jumped with his frail sickly body, in complete terror. He knew he's brother's limits, so seeing a tiger scared him.
"Calm down! You spineless human. I've tamed the big guy, so he won't hurt ya. Sheesh."
"When did you become able to tame a dog, not to talk of a tiger! Or, is that a Jaguar?" Sil said while still maintaining his distance.
'This guy's actually quite knowledgeable.' "Don't worry and come closer. You'll make him think you hate him. He's harmless."
"How did you know that? You can talk to animals now?"
"Yeah, something like that."
"What!?"
Sil moved closer, but not too close.
Dustin explained to him some things that concerned how he was going to survive in the apocalypse, and where he kept some necessities and important stuff which he had hidden away in case of robbers and buglers. He also gave out all the commands he needed the Jaguar to follow while he wasn't around. Also, as a safety measure, Sil was to stand near the door, in case Dustin's taming came undone after he left.
They finished their goodbyes in time, just before the voice returned.
-The chosen ones will now be transported to a different realm in five seconds.
As it said that, the timer started immediately.

As the timer reached 1, the light surrounding those that had been chosen shone brightly for a moment, completely engulfing those within it. After the light disappeared, those within it were no more. They had gone somewhere alien, where their lives would be under constant danger and tests, all for the fate of humanity.
Arnold sent he's sons off with a final nod as they disappeared, while at the same time, a drop of tear rolled down one eye as Sil watched his brother disappear. Sil's eye brows frowned as they closed the gap between them.
"Goodbye brother. You will survive. I know it."
