Chapter 58 - Not An Enemy? Definitely A Friend!!
Elder Lin heard her speak buts he had nothing to say on this matter. She looked at Le Fang ling for a while before she continued doing whatever she was doing a moment ago.
She burned the talisman she was holding and kept it inside a porcelain bowl. She placed the bowl right on top of the bed and again started to do the same with other talisman she had prepared before hand.
She was infusing her qi in to the talisman from the stranger. Since they were really weird talisman, she had to be careful to not exhaust her qi just because of them.
If she was to remove the seal on her body without any further preparation like last time, then she wished not to imagine what could happen. Her body was like a ticking time bomb, one wrong move and the consequences were out of her imagination.
The talisman inside the bowl started to burn in bright yellowish green fire and the turned dark purplish. There was no ash, only the burnt paper and flame. Soon after a while, a white fume started to emit from the burnt paper, making Elder Lin heave out a sigh of relief.
Le Fang Ling waited for her to speak something but all she got was silence as the reply. But it was fine, she only had to wait a little bit for the seal to get removed and she could ask Nagina to give her all the stats that she wanted to know.
She turned her head sideways and looked at the locked door of the room. Right past this door, there were two people waiting for her.
'Well, Nagina is not exactly a person but she is important." She gave soft smile thinking about An Chneg and Nagina.
'I think it has already been 24 hours from the moment I asked her to cut off the notifications.' She thought about how she had asked her to only give her accumulative status of her attributes.
As she was watching, the color of the place she was at started to slowly lose their luster.
'Ehh? Is my eyes getting bad?' Le Fangling tried to focus her eyes at the door but in vain. The surrounding all around her slowly started getting blurred out until she could not figure out what was what.
"You should close your eyes and go to sleep." She could faintly hear the calm voice of Elder Lin as if it was coming from somewhere far away. She felt a soft palm on the top of her head which seemed to be sending her calming sensations.
"Don't worry about anything. I will see you soon." Elder Lin said once again as she continued to supply her own healing spiritual energy to her. She had placed herself inside a barrier so as not to be affected by the smoke from the burnt talisman.
Le Fangling nodded her head but she still had the urge to fight the intoxicating smell of the burnt paper. It made her feel like something was trying to awaken but was being subdued by even a greater force. But, never the less, she felt her eye lids getting heavier until she could not lift them up anymore.
Hearing the even breathing coming from below her, Elder Lin nodded her head in satisfaction when she realized she had finally fallen asleep.
"I am sorry to intrude in to your personal space but I hope you will not mind. You are too much of a riddle for me to understand." Elder Lin closed her eyes and took a deep breathe. She inserted a strand of her divine sense inside her sea of consciousness.
.
When Elder Lin opened her eyes after waiting for a while, she found herself in an area covered by a thick mist and fog. This place was the sea of consciousness of Le Fangling.
"This place is as same as.." Elder Lin had not finished speaking when she heard a cold voice behind her.
"What are you doing here?"
.
"If you have anything you want to ask me, you can ask." Nagina finally decided to take the first step to speak to An Cheng who had been staring at her for like past 10 minutes as if she was a weird specimen inside a museum..
"Don't just stare at me." Nagina who was also coiled on the floor along with An Chneg turned to face AN Cheng.
"Uh oh..right. I guess I was rude with all the staring I did." She blinked her eyes a bit surprised when those big round eyes turned to look at her without any warning before hand.
As if returning her greeting, Nagina did the same and blinked twice as she faced her.
'Eek…cute. Why didn't anyone tell me that magical beast that is yet to ascend to higher realm be as cute as her?' An Cheng reprimanded herself for not getting one for herself all this time.
Nagina said nothing but kept on staring at her as if waiting for her to speak since she was the one who started the conversation.
They were currently in the main hall of the Cherry Blossom pavilion of Elder Lin's residence. Since they could not go in with Le Fang Ling, they had decided to wait outside for them to be done with everything.
An Cheng was not really in mood to do anything since she was kind of worried about Le Fangling and Elder Lin. The night before, had been a mess with how both Le Fang Ling and Elder Lin looked like once they were done after the whole procedure.
She knew something must have gone wrong that time and there was no guarantee things were going to be right this time.
So, in this state of turmoil, all she could do was wait with Nagina, the weirdly cute beast that Le Fang Ling had,
Since Nagina was also an anomaly, she was not allowed to enter inside the medicine chamber with Le Fangling.
"Poor kid." She thought as she looked at the obediently coiled up snake that was sitting on the floor with her. After that, she was staring at her in daze until Nagina called out to her.
.
"Oh right, sorry about that heh." An Cheng grinned looking at Nagina.
"I couldn't help but stare at you since you are so cute." An Cheng did not hold back to shower her with compliments.
"I really like your scales, they shine like pearl." An Cheng looked at her white scales that reflected the pale light from the moon.
"It's fine. I don't mind being admired like that." Nagina knew th mount of charm she carried so she was not surprised to hear that An Cheng liked her skin.
"…" An Cheng was taken aback by her reply.
"You are sweet even when you are being narcissist." An Cheng tapped the top of Nagina's head with her fingers smiling.
"But that's not all you have to say right?" Nagina did not kind being touched by An Cheng so she let her pat her.
"You are smart." AN Cheng was once again caught by surprised by her level of intelligence even at this level. It was really hard to believe that she was not a magical beast with higher level of the cultivation base.
"I know I am." Nagina took pride in her ability to hold data and learn things by purely observing the situations. But like any normal people or living creatures, she too had to study and research things to understand them.
"Oho.." An Cheng was not angered or irritated with how Nagina gave her answer straightforwardly.
She kind of liked her more and more. She was happy there was not any rule that forbade keeping pet animals.
"Tell me more. About you and your owner. What kind of people are you?" An Cheng was invested in the conversation. She genuinely wanted to know more about Le Fang Ling, her true nature and if she was as bad as the other bastards from Le Family.
Nagina knew what she was thinking. Nagina wanted to make one more alley to their side who they could trust.
"An Cheng." Nagina called out her name. It surprised An Cheng when she heard her name coming out from Nagina.
"Ye-s, cough I mean yes." An Cheng replied to her.
"You know if someone is not your enemy, they are your friend." Nagina crawled to where An Cheng was and stopped right before her.
"Hmm.." An Cheng was curious about what this cutie was about to say when her words were this serious. She nodded her head at what she said and waited for her to continue.
"The fact that I possess higher intelligence.." Nagina let out a sigh.
"You cannot tell this to others. I am saying this to you because I know you are a trustworthy person." Nagina was not the best judge of people but she could see that she and her host could trust An Cheng.
"Ohh.." An Cheng raised her eyebrow and thought for a while.
"But what if I break that trust?" Her expression got serious as she stared at Nagina, her question bared at her like a naked sword.
