Chapter 41 - 41. Thank You Is Not Necessary
"Ah, it's already morning," Le Fang ling winced her eyebrows as she looked at the sky which was slowly getting brighter. When Le Fang ling had finally stepped out from the residence of Elder Lin, it was already break of the dawn.
The golden rays of the sun permeated through the darkness of night, creating the beautiful scenery she was seeing at the moment.
The white fluffy clouds covered the whole sky and could be seen travelling all over the blue sky, occasionally halting at a spot as if in a traffic.
Fresh and cool air whistled by as if it was welcoming a bright day, and hopefully a good one. With them they brought flower's fragrance, filling the whole environment with sweet smelling scent of cherry Blossom.
From where she stood, she could see the snowcapped mountains that glistened like precious diamonds on the vast blue sky.
She looked around her, the land that was covered by beautiful cherry Blossom trees and white snow which looked equally exquisite.
While Le Fang ling was mesmerized by what she was seeing, the thin cold breeze which was cold enough to send shiver down her spine passed by her and she could not help but tightly hug her body. She rubbed her arms and continued to walk slowly after An Cheng.
"It's cold…" She exclaimed, startled a little but the coldness she was feeling at the moment did not even compare to the big chunk of ice inside her which was large enough to drown even titanic itself or so she thought.
From what she had seen in her dream a few moments ago, Le Fangling saw and experienced the things her predecessor did.
Along with the memories of real Le Fang ling, all her emotions came rushing inside her. She could not differentiate whether the pain she was feeling or the deep sense of loss and even the desperation she felt belonged to the real owner or if she was just a mere imposter empathizing with it.
The trauma of the moment when she saw her only family dying on her lap remained deep etched inside her heart and she could not shake it off.
'Calm down.' She pinched herself in her arm.
Her emotions were in word, simply messed up at the moment and not even the divine scenery before her could make her forget and soothe her heart completely.
She craved for warmth to soothe her heart.
"Here, you can wear this for now."
A kind voice whispered to her from out of nowhere making her wake up to the reality. She turned to look beside her and saw An Cheng standing there with her hand holding out a dark green cloak.
Since she was a bit absent minded, Le Fang ling was in confusion as to what to do and so she just stood there staring at the cloak and the warm face of her senior sister.
An Cheng: "..."
"Sheesh, are you a kid? Never wore a cloak before?" An Cheng clicked her tongue showing her displeasure but hastily draped a cloak on top of her which she had taken out from her space ring.
She had stopped to wait for Le Fang ling to finish her sightseeing of the morning environment which bewitched almost everyone.
Seeing Le Fang ling shiver she recalled the fact that her junior sister was a new disciple and she needed time to adapt to the climate and weather here.
"Hehe, there you go. Now warm and cozy." She gave a light chuckle as she looked at the bundled up Le Fang ling.
A light blush appeared in her face when she saw Le Fangling staring at her with a surprised and warm flushed expression.
She snatched back her hand in an awkwardly and placed them behind her back, her fingers fiddling with each other in nervousness.
"Thank y.." Le Fang ling tightly held the cloak around her and looked at An Cheng with her turquoise eyes full of gratitude.
"Ahemm..you don't have to thank me." An Cheng turned away her and started to walk. "Thank you in unnecessary, they are just words."
'Empty words.' She added inwardly.
"I am doing what I want to." An Cheng shrugged her shoulder.
"I just don't want you to freeze to death before I make some things clear with you." An Cheng turned back and gave her a domineering look as if she was looking down at Le Fang ling.
Le Fang ling would have believed that she was indeed being looked down at by her but the slight flush on her cheeks and anxious eyes as she tried to play the bully part blew away her guise of playing the strict senior.
"Yes, yes I understand." Le Fang ling smiled a little and nodded her head.
'I might as well play along with her.' She thought as she followed after An Cheng who was still scolding her or more like struggling to scold her.
Elder Lin who was standing at the door looking at them bicker with each other narrowed her eyes as if she was sizing up something.
.
"Humph, you better don't think I am going to go easy on you." She pointed her fingers at Le Fang ling and stated.
"Yes, I understand." Le Fangling acted pitiful and spoke in a scared tone.
"Good." An Cheng nodded her head in satisfaction and started walking towards the outer court of the Cherry Blossom Pavilion to show her the living quarters she was going to use.
'At least she is finally smiling!' An Cheng was happy in her heart when she saw light return back to her beautiful eyes.
When she saw Le Fang ling after the session with Elder Lin, although she was smiling and talking, her eyes looked as good as dead, as if she was looking and living in another world.
She did not know what happened inside the room when she was alone with Elder Lin and she knew it was not her place to poke her nose in yet she could not help but try to learn more about things connected to Le Fang ling.
Was it her simple obsession or her deep rooted hatred that was trying to make her feel attached to Le Fang ling? She did not know.
After An Cheng stopped talking, both of them fell in to deep silence. One could only hear the light chirping of the birds that were getting up early to catch the worms and the crickets.
"You..are you alright now?" An Cheng broke the silence first of all.
"Yes, Elder Lin unblocked all of my blocked meridians." Le Fang ling nodded her head happily. She could feel the smooth flow of qi in her body.
Although there was another complication, she was going to have to hide it from An Cheng for the time being.
"Good, I thought something must have happened when I..well never mind, if you are good to go that's all that matters." An Cheng stopped her questioning. She did not want to seem like a busy body that loved gossiping.
"En." Le Fang ling nodded her head at her remark.
After a while, An Cheng stopped walking and so did Le Fang ling. Raising her head she looked at An Cheng and then her eyes travelled to the place she was pointing out.
"Alright, here we are! At your living quarter.." An Cheng gestured towards small but well-made cottages and smiled.
