The Female Cultivator In The World Of Men

Chapter 25 - 25. Inner Court Disciple

"Err…Senior sister…" Le Fangling finally called out to An Cheng after internally debating for a while. They had been walking for a while on the mountainous path without any conversations.

Occasionally, there was sound of branches crackling on the places where they stepped, the only sound which intensified more in the silence.

"What is it?" An Cheng had regained back her sophisticated and stoic attitude from before and only replied to Le Fangling with out even bothering to look back. She was busy pondering about the incident from before.

"Senior sister, why does Elder Lin want to see me?" Le Fangling placed her question that had been bugging her for quite a while. Elder Lin was like a riddle that she could not understand.

Elder Lin was the first person she had ever met in this Sect personally. She was kind enough to take care of her when she was unconscious but then without any type of explanation she sent him to cut down a divine tree which was an impossible task.

And now, there was a senior disciple who had appeared under the order of Elder Lin to fetch her.

"I am a little bit lost here, on this matter." Le Fangling expressed her doubts.

It was only right that she was confused about what Elder Lin's true intention might be.

"She said you were going to be a cripple." An Cheng summarized whatever Elder Lin had told her and even gave out the distinct conclusion.

"Cripple as in that I might not even be able to cultivate ever again?" Le Fangling asked calmly.

"Yes." An Cheng nodded her head but she could not help but wonder why the reaction given by Le Fangling was way too calm despite the news being like a bomb.

Her response was a tad bit relaxed for someone who was just on the path to cultivation.

Le Fangling heard her say yes but did not speak anything. She knew better than anyone about the condition of her body and what could happen if she did not get timely treatment of it.

As of now, her only salvation was to find someone who could help her unblock her channels and help restore them, who just happens to be Elder Lin.

Coincidentally, Elder Lin was also looking for her making her wonder if Elder Lin also knew about her abnormal body.

An Cheng stopped on her steps abruptly when she thought of something. Le Fangling who was following behind her did not notice it and bumped head first on to her back.

"Hey…" Le Fangling who was startled back to reality was a little angry and almost shouted at An Cheng.

"I mean, senior sister…Why did you suddenly stop?" Le Fangling rubbed her forehead where she had collided on the back of An Cheng.

"You knew about it?" An Cheng gave a sharp turn and looked behind her.

"Know what?" Le Fangling asked with a little surprise. She knew way too many things to figure out what she was pointing out to.

"Do you possibly mean the problem regarding my meridians and channels?" Le Fangling guessed and seeing the agape look on An Cheng's face she knew she had hit the jackpot with it.

"Well…." Her voice trailed off while she tried to avert her eyes from the fierce gaze of An Cheng.

"I kind of knew there was something wrong with it..hehe.." Le Fangling scratched her head once more and gave out an awkward laughter.

"You…" An Cheng was speechless as she looked at the girl in front of her. It was not like she was worried about her or what not, but it was still reckless move on her part.

"You knew your vessels had a problem and yet you fought against me?" An Cheng wanted to shake the girl in front of her and wake her up from whatever dream she was having.

"Cultivation is not something so normal and simple and easy going as you think." An Cheng let out a sigh as she thought about her failures and recklessness which almost cost her whole of her cultivation and life.

"I…" Le Fangling was at loss of words to say to An Cheng.

'I kind of did not used my cultivation to fight against you…ahhh..wait, I did.' Le Fangling recalled the facts that the system used her spiritual energy to activate the skills which meant, basically she might have done that.

<It won't harm you if I am the one using it.> The voice of the system rang inside her head.

<So, you don't have to worry about it! I only use the spiritual energy. It's different from when you do it personally!>

'Got it..' Le Fangling nodded her head after confirming that working of the system was a little different.

And there was the situation with the purple energy that had dissipated after the short match was over. Le Fangling had tried to summon it once again while they had been walking but in vain.

"See, you can't even speak to defend yourself." An Cheng saw the silence of Le F angling as he showing white flag and acknowledging her mistakes.

"Tsk Tsk.." An Cheng clicked her tongue in disdain.

Le Fangling bit her lips and looked at An Cheng like a little lost lamb.

"I know I was wrong Senior sister." Le Fangling bowed down as she asked for forgiveness to the An Chneg.

"But I have a reason for doing this too." Le Fangling raised up her head and looked straight at her eyes.

"Oho? What reason?" An Cheng was a little curious but her eyes fell again on her torn clothes making her feel a little guilty.

"You can speak as we walk," An Cheng turned around and started walking. "We need to get you changed and also Elder Lin is still waiting for us."

"I wanted to see your strength." Le Fangling honestly said her reason for accepting the fight to An Cheng.

"Well, most of it was...I was just trying to take out my anger on those two people but after you arrived, I just wanted to see your strength…I knew it was selfish of me but.." Le Fangling paused before speaking again.

"But thank you very much for complying with my selfish desire." She gave a sincere smile to

"W-Well..wha-t do you think of me then?" An Cheng spoke without looking back at her but there was a slight tremble on her voice making her stutter.

"You are awesome, you look exactly like a fairy goddess when you are in air." Le Fangling excitedly described what she saw, felt and experienced when they faced off.

Le Fangling chattered non stop about her hair, her robes, her stance and everything that made her look like a beautiful painting out from an ancient book.

"Alright, I understand." An Cheng was a little red as she asked Le Fangling to stop speaking. All those praises and compliments…she could not take them.

"But I still haven't told you about you…mumphh.." Le Fangling suddenly stopped speaking and her voice turned to soft mumbles.

"Stop..Speak no more." An Cheng could not take it anymore and had directly placed her hands on her mouth to make her stop.

"Ehh Whh....?" Despite having her mouth blocked, Le Fangling tried to speak but only mumbled out a few words. Her eyes were filled with confusion as she stared at the pearly black eyes in front of her.

Since her mouth was blocked by her own hand, An Cheng could not understand what she was saying.

Even if she had understood what she was saying, she wouldn't have been able to understand it either way.

There was a warm and yet wet sensation on her hand, and it felt as if something was brushing her heart with a light feather yet there was an unknown bubbly sensation welling up with in her.

Staring back at the watery turquoise eyes filled with awe, An Cheng unconsciously blushed.

It was something strange, something she had not felt before and it made her feel uncomfortable.

She hurriedly snatched back her hand and turned around, making her back face Le Fangling.

"Y-You..don't go around.." An Cheng stuttered as she tried to scold Le Fangling but her words got muddled inside her head.

"Ohh, is this your quarter?" Le Fangling asked as she looked at a well maintained traditional styled house in front of them.

It was beautifully surrounded by few cherry blossom trees and with a water fountain on the side, the place looked like a beautiful rest house. The green bamboo that surrounded the whole place made it look even more serene.

"Huh.." An Cheng came back to reality when a hand landed on her arm and realized they had already reached her living quarter.

She looked at the hand that was grabbing her arm in excitement and a smile unconsciously left her mouth.

'What am I losing my cool for?' She reprimanded herself for having abnormal thinking about the situation from before.

'This girl..' She watched the surprised and impressed eyes of Le Fangling. 'She is too frank with her words..' She let out a sigh.

"Yes..This is my living quarter," An Cheng walked in front of her and stepped inside the compound of the house.

"Welcome, junior sister." She gave a polite bow and gestured towards the building.

"This is what an inner court disciple's quarter looks like.." An Cheng announced, her chest filled with pride.
