Chapter 153 - The Dilemma: Sleeping Beauty Vs The Fair Warrior
"I am pretty sure this is just a replay of what happened before," Le fang Ling strongly supported this assumption of hers. "This might be the way how the deities pass down the power they had cultivated; a crazy but surefire way to keep the power increasing and under control."
It was still daytime but here, in this scene, the moon was shining brightly in the sky indicating that it was still nighttime here. This also confirmed her assumption of this being a replay of past events much better.
"H-host, I think we better go back now," Nagina said with a slightly weak voice. "If this really is just a play of the past, we might have to think of something else." Nagina's voice resounded in her head that was currently filled with countless thoughts about this.
"I think we should," Le fang Ling agreed with her. All this while, her eyes were fixated on the girl with the tanned chocolaty skin. There was something different about the girl they saw before and the girl standing in front of her. In the pale moonlight, she looked ghastly.
While this girl had a crazy aura around her, which was insanely weird and chilling, the girl from before who appeared at the Vermillion bird peak gave a different vibe. She was much more composed and gave a humanlike feeling.
Yet, from how things had progressed so far, it was safe to say the girl was currently dead and the one in charge of the body was the earth element deity. There was no doubt about it.
But, considering her previous assumption of that girl being someone from earth who had a system, there was a high chance that her soul was not dead but was momentarily suppressed by the immense soul force of the earth deity.
"So, the girl ain't dead yet, she is there somewhere and she managed to take back her body." After thinking for a bit, this was the conclusion that she came to. And if this argument was the truth then Le fang ling could only imagine how powerful the girl might be.
She finally heaved a sigh of relief when she saw a few pieces that could fit into solving the puzzle.
"Let's leave, Nagina." Le Fang Ling said as he looked one last time at the face of the girl that seemed to be staring at them. "We are done here."
**
Back at the Vermillion Bird Peak, Le Fang Ling gradually opened her eyes as she disconnected herself from the resonated condition of their brain waves. She was breathing a bit heavily; her chest could be seen heaving up and down. As for her forehead and palm: they were a bit wet with sweat.
'I am back here,' she heaved out a sigh of relief again upon seeing the familiar surroundings. The blinding daylight was far better than the creepy darkness of the great tiger palace. The same scene which she had felt bored of watching felt warm and welcoming to her after seeing the great tiger palace.
Nagina moved, bringing Le Fang Ling back to reality. She shifted her attention to her lap where she was holding Nagina. Sensing the gazes on her, the snake she was holding in her arms trembled a bit before falling silent.
"Little girl!" An excited voice called out to her all of sudden. Before she could react to the sound, she saw something falling at her.
Feng Po Po that had been eagerly waiting for them jumped up from her seat and threw her body towards Le fang Ling. Since she had used a charm to lighten her body, Le Fang Ling did not fall despite being crushed by the big lady.
As for Feng Po Po, waiting for them to return had been like waiting for them to come out of a death cave.
"You are finally back!" She cried out as she wrapped her arms around the girl. Seeing her eyes finally open was a cue for her to finally feel relieved. "You don't know how worry-"
"Shh," Le Fang Ling hushed her while motioning to her arms. Feng Po Po noticed her gaze and she too looked down at her lap. Nagina was lying there motionless.
A bit horrified, Feng Po Po, widened her eyes in shock. This was the first time she had seen this snake girl keeping silent in the time she had been with them.
Le fang ling used her divine sense to see if there was anything wrong with her. Although Nagina was a system that came with a guaranteed life, she still felt the necessity to check her now.
"It's alright, she is just a bit exhausted and drained of her qi," Le fang Ling said after checking her. She was no doctor but she could see what was wrong with her. Pushing herself beyond the limit had made her exhaust her mental strength as well.
"Did she use too much of her qi?" Feng Po Po asked after she too was one checking Nagina. "Her meridians have an incredibly low circulation of qi."
Le Fang Ling nodded her head. "I know," she said as she patted the sleeping creature on her lap. If it had been any other time, Nagina could have easily used the qi that was stored in her dantian with ease. After all, her qi had never been hers alone. It was there as per said by Nagina.
'She is too weak so she shut down herself to cut off the use of energy until she charges back to her natural condition,' Le Fang Ling frowned in unease as she looked at Nagina. 'That stupid girl, she should just suck me dry off the spiritual energy I have!'
With the talisman sealing off the abnormal absorption of qi from anything and everywhere, she had learned to control the qi in and around the body. But if she was to take it off, she was only going to suffer from the tremendous backlash of sealing it off for a long time. Until she was powerful enough to manipulate and control qi to the extreme point, she was not going to take it off.
"Stupid system, just be selfish, sheesh," Le Fang Ling shook her head. "You could have easily taken more but you only took the least you could." They were both trying to find the mystery behind the girl after all. She was pretty sure that Nagina did what she did as she felt useless and guilty about how she could not find anything about the girl when she ambushed them before.
"Stupid," she reprimanded Nagina in her heart. After keeping silent for a minute she finally exhaled a long sigh.
"Hey, is there any way to send qi to someone else's body?" Le Fang Ling asked as she raised her head to look at Feng Po po. She was still hovering around them with a concerned look on her face.
"Huh? Oh, away?" Feng Po Po seemed a bit lost as she had never heard this question ever. Usually, it was about how to take qi from someone else's body or how to steal qi from other's body. She had never heard of people giving their spiritual energy to someone else before.
"Yes," Le Fang Ling nodded her head. As of now, she had no idea as to when Nagina was going to stay shut down like this. "Anything?" Although she was trying to remain calm, a bit of agitation could be heard in her voice.
"I am not sure, little girl," Feng Po Po shook her head. "But I do think there is a way," Feng Po Po thought of something. Hearing that there was hope for it, le Fang Ling's eyes lit up. She waited for her to say the way.
"Ahem, listen to me well little girl," Feng Po Po coughed a bit to clear her throat. "Babies; they cannot do anything by themselves when they are young right?"
Le fang Ling nodded her head. She had been living in an orphanage and taking care of small babies back on the earth.
"You also do know how mothers feed their babies, right?" Feng Po Po said with a bit hesitant voice. "Or someone else feeds them the food they need, right?"
"Right again." Le Fang Ling nodded her head. Although it was getting more and more like a class for pregnant women, she continued paying attention to what was being said.
"Nagina, she is right now in a state where she is equivalent to a baby, right? Considering she cannot do anything and all she is doing is sleeping."
'She has just shut herself down, but oh well,' Le fang Ling waved off her thoughts. "You can say something like that,' she nodded her head.
"So my point is why don't you try to *feed* her the *energy* she needs?" Feng Po Po spread out her hands in front of her as she concluded her words. This was the only way she could think of apart from dual cultivation. It was pretty impossible to do since Nagina was unconscious.
"Cough," Le fang Ling could say no more as she looked at Feng po po; dumbfounded. "You mean feed her the qi?"
"Well, y-yes." Feng Po Po shamelessly nodded her head.
"Hmm, feed huh?" Le fang Ling could only think of one way to feed it. Well, it was more like transferring her qi to her, more than feeding.
"I think I know just what to do!" Le fang Ling stood up from her seat to go to her room or somewhere private. No sooner had she taken two steps, she halted with a start.
"Zheng Pao, from the Dead Cicada Village and An Cheng from Eternal Blossom Sect!"
"Get ready for the match!"
