The Female Cultivator In The World Of Men

Chapter 118 - The Beast In The Cave(1)

The red eyes of the creature glowed sinisterly in the dark cave as it advanced towards Le Fang Ling with a low grunt. In the bad lightning of the cave, Le Fang ling could vaguely make out the fangs that were sticking out of the mouth, with glistening drool that was hanging down from it.

"Rawrrr!!"

A loud growl echoed inside the cave once again as the beast got closer and closer to where she was standing.  The entire cave trembled at its footsteps. Even though she had managed to separate a space for her own use, she could still feel the fluctuation in the space due to the influence of the shockwaves of the beast rampaging around.

"Heh, is it a minotaur or what?" Le Fang Ling chuckled nervously when she saw a clearer image of the creature.

That was when the beast did something unexpected. The beast leaped up in the air and landed directly in front of her, only a few meters away from her. But considering it's immense size, it was easy to say that it was standing very close to her.

It blocked the small amount of light that was entering the cave.

Bam!!

The beast raised its hands and slammed down again. This time, it was faster and the force was much more than before.

"Oops, no time to think about this right now," she exclaimed as she dodged another punch that was slammed down at her.

On missing the hit once again, the beast was much more enraged than before. It was enraged at the fact that it was not landing a single hit on a small human that should have been weakened by its hypnotizing effect.

It could not accept that it was failing miserably at this point against a human whose strength was low to the point it could not even sense her power level.

It was outraged by all of this!!

"Rawrr!!"

Another heart and ear wrenching roar echoed in the cave. The roof trembled making a few rocks from the roof to fall down.

A rock as big as her head almost crashed down on her head but she managed to dodge it too. If it was not for the fact that she had kept her spiritual sense active and alert all this time, she was sure she would have been a pickle.

Or worse!

She did not want to experience the feeling of having her head smashed in again. That was simply unacceptable for her.

The roof of the cave continued to collapse and the tiny bits of the broken roof continued to rain down on Le fang Ling.

"…."

"Now, we have an unwanted shower…" she sighed at how bad the whole situation was getting. She wanted to get done with this as fast as she could.

She had a vague idea on what this whole situation was but she had no time to actually check it out. Her survival was the main mission right now.

"Let's see what this beast really is like," she mumbled to herself as she jumped  aside to dodge the falling stone. She was fast in her jumps and as someone who had inherited the memories of the previous host, she managed to easily replicate them.

After jumping around like a grasshopper, she had memorized the basic terrain of the place she was at. She more or less knew that she was going to break her bone or crack her skull if she was careless about this whole thing.

One wrong step and everything was going to go down in ditch!

So, she cautiously tried to approach the beast from any angle being as silent as she could. The beast could manipulate sound, and her making a slightest noise was more or less enough to give away her location.

She grabbed a few of stones from the floor and carried them just in case it might come handy.

She took a deep breathe to calm down herself before the beast got out of frenzy. She was doubtful of the beast and felt like it was a high level magical beast. It must not have evolved to the point of being intelligent as human beings but she knew that it was more or less enough to have a basic thinking and decision making capabilities.

She was not sure, it was plainly her deduction by taking into consideration the worst case scenario that could happen.

She jumped past the beast but did not dare get close to him.  She continued testing the water for some time until both of them started to get tired o it.

"COME AND FIGHT ME FAIR!!" The beast growled out loud when it was irritated by the pesky little fly that was bugging him.

"…."

Le fang ling temporarily stopped when she heard it speak. Her jaw dropped wide open at this unexpected turn of event.

"Nani?! You can actually talk?" She exclaimed her deep shock and surprise. She had thought the beast was indeed a mid level beast, somewhat powerful, so she had been careful with her approach.

But the reality was something else. The beast was high level enough to be able to speak human language. It was truly  a rare find and unexpected turn of events.

"OF COURSE!" The beast growled as it sent a shockwave towards where she was. It will be better to say where the source of her sound was coming from.

"….."

"Oops," Le fang ling barley managed to dodge that. All this time, she had only been dodging and jumping. Seeing that she was once again using her ability to create her own space to block off the sound waves and the shockwaves, the beast was enraged again. The beast was indeed an edge lord. She wondered if it was actually a young teenage beast hitting its puberty.

If that was the case, she could understand it all.

"I am here, come and get me big boy," Le fang ling called out in a smug tone at the beast. There was a slight mocking laughter in her voice. She was sure it was more than enough to provoke the big boy there.

And well, she was not wrong. The beast indeed heard the sarcastic laughter she had in her voice.

"YOU WILL PAY FOR THIS!!" It growled and started to attack her more aggressively. The attacks were faster and stronger than before but they were less precise and less accurate.

All of the attacks from the beast were all over the places.

"Heh, just that much was more than enough for you to lose your cool huh," she grinned as she decided it was time for counter attack before it unleashed all of its power. She was not arrogant to think that she could go head to head with a high level beast.

"Hiyah!" she jumped from the place she was standing and reached to the place where she remained at a blind spot of the beast.

She threw the stone she had picked form the ground on to the opposite end of the place she was at. She hoped that it acted as a diversion at the very least. Even a fraction of second was enough for her to execute what she was going to do.

Upon hearing the sound of stone falling, the beast was momentarily diverted from the real Le fang Ling. It immediately turned towards the place where the stone was falling.

'Heh, no wonder people say anger will eat you,'  she whispered under her breathe with a smirk on her face.

She stepped on a higher stone that was on the cave. She had prepared her wind blades already in her palm. Without wasting much of her time,  she immediately launched a barge of wind blades at the beast.

She already knew what the weak spots it had on the body from the brief contact she had with it. Well, she hoped that she was indeed right about it,  she could just hope and pray that she was right.

This time, as she attacked him with her wind blades, she made sure to focus on the quality than the quantity. Each tiny blade she produced was sharper and powerful than the one from before.

In a fraction of second, everything happened.

The beast cried out in pain as it finally felt the wind blades cutting through its skin where it was the weakest. That consisted mainly of the neck portion that was made up of thin skin unlike the other parts.

'It was a diversion?' It gnashed its fang when it realized that it had been deceived by the puny human.  It was diverted by a small piece of rock?!

"YOU!!" The beast growled at the top of its lungs as it dashed towards the place the wind blades had come from.

"SO I SEE YOU ARE ALSO ONE OF THOSE FAKERS HUH?" The voice of the beast echoed in the cave as it continued thrashing around the place.

"He probably means I am a cultivator trying to be an immortal?" Le fang Long thought when she heard the beast shouting at her.

It was really funny to hear a beast calling a human faker when it clearly was not the case. Or wait, maybe humans were faker after all.

'Shit, no time to think about philosophical things likes a mad man,' she immediately jumped from where she was as she threw more wind blades.

"Grrr!!!" the beast completely blocked all of the wind blades after all, it was still stinger than Le fang ling.

As if the luck had completely left her, she reached her time limit of  creating her own space. She could feel it depleting faster than  ice melting in summer.

Worse, the beast had arrived right next to her and was more than ready to show her what a knuckle sandwich looked like.

"Oh boy," she thought as she watched the shadow loom in towards her.
