The Fears Of A Billionaire

Chapter 84 - 84 Unmasking the Enemy

Chapter 84: Unmasking the Enemy

The wind from the helicopter blades roared in Dominic's ears as they soared through the sky, leaving the chaos of The Nexus behind. But despite the success of their escape, a heavy tension hung in the air.

They had the data. They had a chance. But they were still a long way from victory.

Alyssa wiped the blood from her arm where a bullet had grazed her. She met Dominic's eyes, her voice steady despite the exhaustion etched across her face. "What's our next move?"

Dominic stared out of the helicopter window, his mind racing. "We need to decrypt the data and expose The Unseen Hand. But we can't do it alone. We need someone who can help us spread this across the globe someone with reach and power."

Marcus, still catching his breath, raised an eyebrow. "You're talking about going public? That's going to make us enemy number one for a lot of powerful people."

Laura, sitting beside them, held up the hard drive they'd stolen, her face pale but determined. "This is our only leverage. But we can't trust just anyone with this information. The wrong hands, and it disappears forever."

Dominic nodded, his eyes hardening. "I know. Which is why we need to go straight to the top."

Alyssa frowned. "The top?"

He turned to her, a flicker of resolution in his gaze. "There's only one person who can blow this open and ensure the whole world sees it, Yasmin Khan."

Laura's eyes widened. "The investigative journalist? She's under the most intense scrutiny of any reporter. If anyone can make this global, it's her."

Alyssa folded her arms, still looking uncertain. "But reaching her won't be easy. She's been underground for months, avoiding Volkov's network and government pressure. If we can't find her"

"I know where she is," Dominic interrupted. "Or at least, I know someone who can get to her. But we'll have to act fast. If The Unseen Hand catches wind of this, they'll come for us before we can expose them."

Marcus glanced down at the city far below them, his face grim. "If we're going to do this, we'd better be ready for all-out war. Volkov's network will come down on us hard the moment they realize what we've got."

Dominic's jaw clenched. He knew the stakes. The forces they were up against were vast, interconnected, and willing to kill to keep their empire intact. But this was their only shot.

He leaned forward, addressing the team. "We go dark, find Yasmin, give her the data, and protect her until it's out. Once the world sees what's on here, Volkov and his allies won't be able to hide."

Alyssa met his gaze, nodding slowly. "We're with you."

Laura tapped into the satellite network from her laptop, her fingers moving quickly. "Give me a few minutes. I'll set up a secure line and get us coordinates to a safe location. We can make contact with Yasmin from there."

As the team worked in tense silence, the weight of what lay ahead pressed down on them all. They weren't just fighting Volkov now—they were taking on an entire hidden network of power players who had operated in the shadows for decades.

But Dominic knew one thing for certain: this was the moment they had been fighting for.

Two hours later, they touched down on the outskirts of Zurich, in a remote, forested area away from prying eyes. The team moved swiftly, transferring the equipment from the helicopter to an old, nondescript van Eleanor had arranged for them. They needed to stay mobile, hidden.

"Okay, I've got a location," Laura said, looking up from her screen. "Yasmin's in Prague. She's been operating out of an underground safe house used by whistleblowers and journalists. We can be there in a few hours."

Dominic took a deep breath, adrenaline still pulsing through him. "We'll head out now."

Alyssa pulled on her jacket, her eyes scanning the horizon for any sign of trouble. "Do you think Volkov suspects anything yet?"

"Not yet," Dominic replied. "But it won't take long. We need to stay ahead of him."

As they drove through the winding roads toward Prague, the tension inside the van was palpable. Everyone knew what was at stake. Everyone knew they were walking into the lion's den.

When they finally reached Prague, night had fallen, casting long shadows across the narrow streets. Laura led them through a maze of back alleys until they arrived at a small, unmarked door tucked between two abandoned buildings.

"This is it," she whispered.

Dominic knocked twice, then waited. His hand instinctively hovered near the concealed gun at his side, every nerve on edge. After a long moment, the door creaked open.

A woman with dark, intelligent eyes and short, cropped hair stood before them, her face hard but curious. Yasmin Khan. The woman who could blow this entire conspiracy wide open.

"You must be Dominic," Yasmin said, her voice calm but firm. "I've been expecting you."

Dominic nodded, stepping inside. "We have what you need. But we don't have much time. Volkov and his people will be coming for us soon.

Yasmin gestured for them to sit, her eyes never leaving Dominic's. "Show me."

Laura handed her the hard drive, and Yasmin quickly plugged it into her secure system. As the files began to load, her expression changed; shock, then grim understanding.

"This..." Yasmin breathed. "This is more than I imagined. If we get this out, if we expose this to the world..."

"They'll burn the world down before they let that happen," Dominic finished.

Yasmin's eyes narrowed, determination hardening in her gaze. "Then we'd better make sure they don't get the chance."

The room fell into a charged silence as the weight of what was to come settled over them all.

The Unseen Hand was about to be exposed.

But the real fight was only beginning.
