Chapter 79: [Before the Climax!]
[Location: Underground West Area!]
-Slash!
-Slash!
-Dash!
-Slash!
[Skill: Weapon Maker's Gamble: Dice!]
-Slash! X 24!
Invar used another one of his skills as he cut down another Royal Guard, slicing him into pieces. Though the other 6 were already behind him, covering his escape as they tried to get a single fatal slash at his body.
[Skill: Weapon Maker's Creation: 360 degree Wind Slash!]
And then counter attacking them, he drew a circular slash all around him. A few of them who were agility based, dodged easily, while others who were defense based, blocked his attack before taking a step back.
"Warrior. Who are you?" The one who was dead, came back to life as he moved in for a slash, but Invar easily dodged him with a sidestep, before cutting him in two vertical halves. Invar closed his eyes, as he then took a deep breath, getting a bit of his stamina back, before he turned around to find the other royal guards once again moving in for another fight.
'Seems like I would need to show a bit more than this if I need to last long,' Invar thought as he calculated the time left for the event to end. This madness should hopefully end by that time.
"The name is Invar. I am here to judge you filthy monsters who wear the skin of humans," he answered them, making them all smile as one of them spoke,
"So you are one of those justice guys who believes that human lives are of equal value, huh? No wonder you were glaring at us all the time. Good. It would be fun to break you."
That man spoke as his eyes then slightly red, before a strange aura surrounded his body. Patterns began covering his body and weapon, as he pointed his sword towards Invar.
-Whoosh!
-Clang!
Reaching close to Invar, his blade reached Invar's neck, but it was parried at the last moment as Invar looked at him without much emotion in his eyes.
"I guess I was wrong for even slightly hoping that you were different from those bastards from before," Invar spoke as he then gripped the two swords tightly before he activated one of the skills of the sword he was using.
[Sword Skill: Blood Revitalize!
Grade: D
Effects: For all the attacks done as damage by the Blood sword, 20% will be stored as Blood Mana! Blood Mana can be used to either increase your own damage or to heal all your wounds, and bring your body back to peak conditions!]
The others saw his body healing within an instant, making their eyes widen as they realized that they can't take him lightly anymore. Otherwise, the fight would just keep going on indefinitely. Even though they were immortal, their powers weren't unlimited. They need to finish this before it reaches the point where they can't handle it anymore.
Hence, they used their special skills as well, going berserk as they prepared for the next round against Invar, who was seemingly getting tired as the time was passing.
…
[Location: Near the South Gate of the Castle!]
'This is fucking too much. Fuck the ritual. I will fucking kill these bastards,' Amia who was tired after getting killed a dozen times, was at the edge of her wits as she decided that she would now end this madness.
"[Light of Life!] [Shadow Of Life]," her eyes turned red as a golden aura began floating around her. All those who were attacking took a step back, while the ranged one like Mark and other archers increased their attacks even more.
Though the more they attacked, the more their attacks were being absorbed by the golden energy that seemed to be fighting the dark eerie energy coming from the saintess.
"The heck?!"
"Is it the second phase of the boss?"
"Are the points going to increase? I really hope so!"
"Shit! There are only 30 minutes left for the event to be over!"
The players were upset that her transformation might consume a lot of time. It wasn't something they wanted right now when the time they had was so limited.
"The energies are colliding," Alice said as she [Copied!] the two skills in her weapon. Her eyes tried understanding the mana collison that she was witnessing, though the way the Saintess body was breaking and making, it would be quite impossible for Alice. The only reason the saintess was able to do so was because she didn't need to worry about dying in this situation.
"[Mana Merge: Rhythmic Echoes!]" Amia shouted as those two energies started revolving around her at a rapid speed. Even though they were opposite nature, when rotated at fast speed, she could somehow amplify their effects and control them to some extent.
"DODGE!"
"DUCK!"
"BE CAREFUL!!"
Alice, Percy and Luke, who understood what was going to be followed, shouted loudly, while dodging the following blades of light and darkness coming in their direction.
The attack took out half the players out, while the others dodged hurriedly. If not for the sudden shout of the trio, barely a dozen would be able to survive that attack.
"Fuck!"
"What was that attack?!"
-Whoosh!
Amia then appeared right in front of Percy, trying to capture him, but he barely dodged using his fast speed. He looked around before dodging to a safer place. Percy's eyes turned blue, as he looked at Amia before he vanished from there.
-Whoosh!
And then appearing right behind her, as he moved for another attack. This time his attack contained a dozen times more power than last time.
-BOOOM!!!!
There was a loud bang, but the attack that Percy did had no effect on Amia, as she simply healed at least a hundred times faster than before. Percy then jumped back before the saintess could catch him, reaching back to the group.
The other players saw this exchange and they began carefully assessing the value of their lives in exchange for points. And in the end, most of them began stepping back as they ran away from there. It wasn't worth getting killed over when they could get some points from the guards who were much weaker than her.
"What now?" Alex asked as he looked at the Saintess's eyes dead set on them. She was practically glaring at them, and it didn't seem like she was going to leave them that easily.
"I-" Alice was about to speak but then someone else stepped forward.
"You guys go. I will hold her back until the event is over. I don't think that I can defeat her even once, but as far as holding goes… I think I can manage," Luke spoke as he smiled at the group before taking another step towards that Saintess.
"Let's go," Mark spoke without much emotion in his words, as he helped the vampire children before taking them away from the other direction. Alice followed behind him while Alex and Percy observed Luke for a moment.
"You are dumb for this," Percy spoke before moving forward while Alex sighed and spoke,"it's a stupid way to wash what you did in the tutorial. Well. Do whatever suits you."
And then Alex too walked away from there while Luke kept observing the saintess. Even though he had a dozen things he wanted to say, he decided to keep quiet while keeping the Saintess in check.
-Whoosh!
[Aura Art: First Step: Boundation!]
As the saintess was about to run after the group, Luke used his sword to create a heavy attack, pushing that saintess back. Her eyes widened as she looked at the area where Luke's attack had damaged her. Even though she should be healing faster, she wasn't anymore.
"Let's…. End this," Luke spoke with a slightly tired voice before focusing on the saintess once again.
[Aura Art: Second Step: Entrapment!]
…
[Location: Outside Prince's Room!]
-Clank! Clank! Clank!
-Swish!
[Blink!]
-Clank! Clank! Clank!
The fight between the prince and Evelin was at its peak. Even though nobody has used all of their moves, their fight was at a high pace with Evelin constantly shifting her stance between dodging and attacking.
Even though [camouflage!] was working pretty well against the prince, the moment she was attacking, the prince ended up reaching to her before attacking with all his might!
[Blink!]
-BOOOM!!!!
Evelin didn't have much problem dodging him even then, though the problem of keeping him around the room remained much the same. With each attack the prince was breaking down all the walls with barely a few remaining. And as the fight continued, she was now fighting against the prince in an open hall, a hundred meters away from the room, where he should have been.
'Just 20 minutes more,' Evelin saw the event timer before she sighed and continued her attack. The prince parried her arrows pretty much the same as before, though this time, rather than attacking her, he used all his might to hit the ground where she was standing.
'Shit!' She cursed as she understood what he wanted to do.
The floor broke down completely as the prince went down under, until he reached the ground floor.
"What?"
"What happened?"
"Shit! Is that the prince? Holy cow! He is worth 5000 Points!"
"He is mine!"
The players surrounding the prince were shocked to see him falling from the ceiling. Their eyes had a mixture of greed and fear in them. Even though they knew that this was a big target, they knew it probably meant that he was equally strong as well.
"Your Highness!"
"Prince Rehan!"
The sweet voice of two girls came, as they looked at the Prince who was standing a dozen steps away from him. The prince turned back, only to find that the twins were slowly regenerating from their death as their bodies were getting back into shape.
And finally the prince realized that it wasn't just a small assination from that girl as he had predicted from before.
His eye glared as he looked around at all the players, before he turned to the twins and asked,
"Luna. Mona. What is going on here?"
