Chapter 107: [Mark: Side Quest Complete!]
[Adrian's POV!]
"You are back?" Mark spoke as I used that teleportation ability of the weapon to get back to him. I undid my [Illusion!], as I looked at everything around me, most of the things were already settled. The NPCs were free. The Bandits were dead.
"Yeah. Too chilly out there," I answered as I recalled that shadow guy once again before shaking my head as I looked at the situation around me.
We were at the center of the town, standing around a grandfire. There were a dozen NPCs anda a few more Players who were talking among themselves about the bandit players that were currently kept tied there, and a few more burned in that grand fire.
"We were discussing what to do with the other bandits, but since it wasn't my place to interfere, I let these players and NPCs make the decision," Mark spoke as he sighed while standing at a distance from there.
"Were you the one who dealt the most damage?" I asked as I wanted to confirm something, though gave a slight paused look at me before he sighed and answered," yes. I did the most damage."
"And how was the response of those NPCs?" I asked another question.
"They were scared of me. Even now they are wary of me," he answers, though it seemed as if he were expecting that already.
"Is that so?" I muttered as I put my hand on my chin while I looked at the map for the other NPCs and players around here. There wasn't much of what's left, but there were still about a 1000 or more people total here.
"Alan," I called that guy who got us here, and observing me, his eyes were surprised for a moment before he moved closer to me.
"Crowley, you are back?" He asked with a slight smile and I nodded before speaking,"call me Crow. Tell me, who is the leader of the NPCs? And who is the one with the most power among the Players?"
His eyes went to Mark for a moment before I sighed and corrected him,"not Mark. Among you lot."
His eyes went 'Ah!' Before he spoke,"that would be Gilthunder. He is currently talking with the son of the Mayor of the Town."
"Call both of them here," I spoke as I looked at him with a serious look before he nodded and went towards the group of NPCs that were talking among themselves. Calling out two specific people from that group, he brought them towards me and Mark.
Mark observed me with a curious look, while I waited for them to reach me.
"Who are you? Sir Mark. Is he with you?" The guy, Gilthunder, spoke as he observed me from top to bottom. He had a bit of golden hair with black stripes, while he seemed to be more of an arrogant type of guy, who had grown cautious after getting a bitter crushing defeat.
"Big brother Mark. Can we trust him?" The mayor's son, a guy barely 16, asked as he looked at me with a lot of caution. Though looking at how he had support from the other NPCs that surrounded us, it seemed like he was trusted by the NPCs a lot.
Good. This would do. chapter-hosted-on-MVLeMpYr
"First, let's heal everyone who is injured," I spoke out as I looked at everyone around here.
[The One!]
It took about a 1000 energy to heal everyone but with this everyone present was easily healed to their max health. Their fatigue, depression, anxiety, everything was cured. A couple of NPCs, who had some form of severe disease, were also completely cured in an instant.
"What?"
"What is going on?!"
"My-My Curse? It's gone! I am finally free!!!!"
"I don't feel pain anymore!! Hahaha! I am cured!"
Didn't take even a few seconds as everyone was rejoicing at the sudden event, while I looked at the Mayor's son, and that player, Gilthunder, for a few moments. And then sighing, I spoke out,
"With this, hopefully you would be ready to listen to me, right?"
Their eyes looked at me as if I were an Angel or something. I thought they would be weirded out or scared for someone to have this kind of absurd power, but I guess, people can surprise you with positivity?
Although…
"What the heck are you?" Mark spoke as he looked at me with an odd expression.
"…"
Why are you the one weirded out of all the people?
Ignoring him, I then looked at the Mayor's son as I spoke," rebuild the city and set a path towards the east, as far as possible, reaching the boundary of this world. I know this would take some time, but it's necessary if you want to survive the changes that the world is going to go through."
"Are you… a messenger of God?" The mayor's son asked as his eyes widened in realization, while I sighed before wondering for a few seconds. In a way, I would probably be the savior of your God… but that could be taken as blasphemy so let's not say that.
"You can say that I know her," I answered ambiguously, which made them widen their smiles before they nodded rapidly.
To be honest, it wasn't a random bullshit that I said but a necessary path if I want to connect the two worlds to the safe zone. Not directly, I mean, but through trades and other stuff.
With the help of the Admin, I was able to locate the direction of that Rift that connects this place to the safe zone, but by some stroke of fate, it was in a deeper forest area where civilisation rarely thrived.
'About 4000 Km east from here,' I recalculated that distance before sighing as it would take ages to build a road to that place. Though if they happen to find more traces of cities and such, they should be able to increase their speed as well.
"If possible, create a path that can be used for trade. Also, if you find any major or minor cities on the way, and any form of civilization, then try to set a camp there and expand that camp enough for a 1000 people to thrive. You don't have to do it all at once, but try to do it as fast as possible," I said without much expectation.
But then again we were in a fantasy world so who knows they might finish the task much faster?
The Mayor Nodded before he took my permission and left from there. I then turned to Gilthunder and asked,
"What are you guys going to do? Seems to me that you got a pretty big group to handle."
He turned silent for a moment before speaking," I want to finish the tutorial and go back home. Though all we got was to protect the city, so I think we are going to do that for now. Since your city got destroyed… did you receive anything from that quest?"
So they got a similar quest, huh?
"To be honest, our city is fine. Just that we both were bored so we set out to see the outside world and hunt some monsters while at it," I smiled as I answered him. His eyes widened before a smile appeared on his face as he relaxed.
"Thank God. I thought we would too face some strong monsters and die. If guys like you had to run, one can only think of the strength of the monsters," he gave out a dry chuckle before we laughed as well.
Well. I guess, it was obvious to have that line of thought.
"Anyways, we will be going back now. I don't know much about it, but if you can find an NPC named Alice, and a lost dog called Bark, then I think you might get a hidden quest or something. Should keep you occupied for the moment," I gave him a hint as I saw the [Hidden Quests] of this place.
They were good quests that would be helpful for his group, but mostly they were useless for me, so I called a pass on them. Anyways, looking at Mark who seemed more mature than before, I guess we call it a fruitful adventure.
"Shall we go back now?" I asked Mark and he nodded. He was tired as well, and perhaps wanted a break from this 'adventuring' we were doing.
"Are you guys leaving? Can we go as well?"
"Please! We want to go with you!"
The two kids spoke out as they reached closer to us. Were they listening to our conversation? Probably. I turned towards them, as I patted their head before squatting to their eye level.
"You guys are needed here more than with us. Plus, given how we do our thing, you can get in danger a lot," I spoke as their eyes turned sad. Though I sighed before speaking,
"How about this? I will come meet you in Tutorial and help you find a place in one of my groups? If you can survive this tutorial, I believe you should be able to get strong enough to be a part as well. And even if you are not, I will provide you a place which you can call home."
Their smiles returned as they looked at me with joy and hope.
"Really?!!" They both spoke at once before I nodded at them.
"Now. Let' me give you both a gift… though keep it a secret, okay?" I spoke as I looked at the 9 skills they both had in total. Each of them were D-Grade at best and E-Grade at worst.
[Would you like to make the total changes for 17 Million GM Points?]
And spending some extra points, I pushed all of those skills to [B-Grade] each. It's a liability, and I might get targeted later on as someone who was capable of increasing other people's skills. Though…
'I can easily turn all the rumors towards the [Skill: Deconstructor!], that would increase my overall fame,' I smiled as I looked at my Advertiesm- I mean the kids.
"Let's go now," Mark asked and I nodded before speaking," all right. See you guys later," before we moved back towards the city where Alice and the others were.
