Chapter 104: [A Message!]
[Nora's POV!]
The story goes way beyond time. It was from an era wh the tower dwellers like us used to live on our own without any disturbances from outside.
At that time, there wer't any floors as such, but a world where we lived together in harmony. Honestly, there wer't ev roles like Admin and such. Just the fact there was a system that guided us to do a bunch of stuff here and there.
Ev though we were giv orders from the system, an tity that we didn't ev know anything about, we still followed its words without asking ev a single question.
And that was because of the rewards that it provided to us.
Time passed over as we reached a point where the existce of the tower started becoming more appart.
It all began with the division of our world into three. Namely upper floors, lower floors, and a subfloor that was somehow more refined than the others.
The first one to get more complicated was the subfloor, as it began breaking the barriers of the world, connecting itself to various dimsions and such. This sub floor was later known as the [Tutorial] of the tower where the players first descded.
The next one to form was the Lower Floor, which soon divided itself into 5 floors, which further divided into 5 sub floors, creating 5 lower floors in itself.
Each of those sub floors were th partially divided into two by a thin barrier that had strange functions for both the players and the tower dwellers.
Though, as someone who couldn't go past the first floor, I only heard the stories of what happed beyond the first floor. Still as someone who got in touch with players rather oft, I got a couple of information about higher floors anyway.
For example, how the atmosphere of the first 50 floors is completely differt from the next floors. Also, how each couple of floors was similar in ecology and just had differt rules.
It made me somewhat understand how the tower functioned.
But this guy… he was differt from the very start.
Others may know him as the first player in the history of the tower but I, the soul of the first floor, knew. Since I had a bit more connection to the tower than others I could sse it extremely clearly.
He was an outsider. He wasn't ev a player. Ev though he always acted as one, he was never a player. And he came at least a decade before the first players arrived.
For the brief amount of time he was on the first floor, he used to visit random places on the map, making small changes here and there. Obviously the tower ssed him, and he had to run after making the minor changes to the tower.
Though the fact he could interfere with the very system made me rather shocked. I was pretty cautious of him, but my husband was always happy wh he used to visit. He kind of always knew what my husband liked or hated.
Made me a bit jealous as he seemed to know my husband ev better than I do.
Anyways, I had heard that he has left the tutorial later. Though from a couple of reliable sources, I ev heard that he had died.
Hce, I was shocked to see him standing here right now, smiling so nonchalantly like that. And more importantly… Who is that girl with him? I feel a strange ergy coming off from her.
"You have brought an annoying one this time, kid. Tell me… Adam fucking Wesker… What exactly is your objective here this time?" I looked at Rosaliyah speaking as she observed the duo with a narrowed gaze.
'Does she know Adam?' I thought as I looked at her with a curious gaze.
"Come on Rosaliyah. Don't look at me like that. It's not like I killed you or something?" He spoke with a smile, making Rosaliyah give out a cold smile.
The atmosphere turned rather chilly as I saw Rosaliyah barely controlling herself from pounding Adam into pieces.
"Wait!" And that girl, I think her name was Heather, she gave a sudd narrowed look to Adam as she continued speaking,
"Didn't you once said that you had revived Lirawern's wife a couple of times? Don't tell me, you were the fucker who killed her in the first place?"
"…"
"…"
Both I and Heather looked at him blankly as he observed the chilly gaze of Rosaliyah and spoke,
"Skip the minor details, will you?"
Minor?
"ARE YOU FREAKING CRAZY??!!!! ENCHANTRESS WOULD FUCKING KILL US IF YOU KILL HER TOY'S ONLY WEAKNESS!!! ADAM!!!"
Heather freaked out as she looked at Adam with a narrowed gaze. I could feel the tsion rising here, as I gulped before Adam sighed and spoke,
"I had no choice all right. You must understand that it was the only way to protect the tower from breaking back th. Don't ask me the details cause the less people know about it the better."
Ev though he seemed to be pretty guine, why do I feel like he is lying? Hmmm… strange.
"And isn't she alive, right now? That's what matters in the d, doesn't it?" He added in the d.
"Dying isn't really the best feeling, you fucker," Rosaliyah spoke out, though she seemed to be a bit more calmer than before. The one who was the most troubled right now was Heather, the girl who came with Adam.
"Well. It's not like I have died. So I don't know about that," Adam spoke as he shrugged his shoulders a bit. My eyes narrowed as I once again felt something odd about his words. Or was it the way he was speaking?
'I don't know. It's not like he spoke anything out of common sse,' I sighed as I kept feeling strange every time he spoke. It was the same as wh he was with my husband.
"Adam… why are we here really? I am telling you, I don't want to do anything with Enchantresses," Heather seemed rather afraid of this 'Enchantress'. I wonder who she is?
"I am here to pass on something that would help you guys. Or to be precise, it will help him in his journey," he spoke as he took out a strange metallic ball out of his pocket. Throwing it at Rosaliyah, he the continued speaking,
"Give it to Crowley. He will know what to do with it."
A nostalgic smile was prest on his face.
"Why not give it by yourself?" Rosaliyah asked as she observed that ball. Though it seemed like she didn't find anything strange about that ball, she gave up trying to analyze it before keeping it in her pocket.
"Well. There is a limit to how much I am allowed to interfere. Ev though he doesn't really need my help, this should help him skip a couple of minor steps later on," Adam spoke before pondering a bit and th looking at Heather who had her eyes narrowed at him.
She th asked,
"Are you sure we should be doing this? I am telling you he will kill us later… Adam. For real."
"Don't worry too much about it. We are going to take care of that next. On that note, we will be taking our leave now," Adam spoke as he observed Rosaliyah and th looked at me.
"Nice to see you doing good Nora. Still loving the Strawberry Pie, I see," he smiled at me before looking at Rosaliyah and th speaking,
"As for the price for killing you 7 times in total, I will pay it with a single message from a certain God of Irrationality."
7 times? Damn!
"My wife. My darling. I hope you are doing well. I miss you," Adam spoke as he slowly walked outside, with Heather still having a doubtful expression on her face as she kept asking Adam various questions about a certain 'he' that I did not know of.
Though he seemed to be rather important giv how Heather was seemingly worried about 'him'.
"Hey Rosaliyah-" I was about to ask Rosaliyah a couple of questions but before I could do so, I saw Rosaliyah standing with a blank expression.
A couple of tears escaped her eyes, as she had her mouth op while she kept looking into the empty space in front of her.
Th a smile appeared on her face as she blushed while bringing her hand close to her heart. I recalled the message from Adam, which made me wonder… was it from her Husband?
"I miss you too, Lirawern," she mumbled slowly as her tire face turned red with embarrassmt before she covered it with her hands.
I wanted to ask her a couple of questions regarding everything that had just happed, but since she was tirely lost in her happy thoughts, I sighed before smiling as I th began cooking that strawberry pie again.
My eyes momtarily turned towards the empty space from where Adam left, before I sighed as a memory surfaced in my mind.
Reminded me of the times that he used to visit my husband. I don't know how he does that but it seems as if always knows what to speak to him, to make him calm down, or perhaps be grateful towards him for the most part.
Looking at Rosaliyah so happy right now with that one message, it made me smile as well. I guess, him visiting here wasn't really a bad thing considering how the interaction started.
"All this tsion made me ev more hungry," I sighed as I began preparing ev more portions of the strawberry pie.
A constant smile was prest on my face as I hummed and continued working.
