The Divine Wolf... or?

Chapter 164: The Fallen

On the back of the mysterious creature were a pair of wings. Though it seemed odd, as the creature came closer, the colours of the wings could be discerned if you looked closely. The wings were not the same colour, as one was pitch-black, whilst the other was a gentle white colour, soothing for the eyes.

Unlike most bipedal creatures, this creature had a pair of feathered wings, which was enough for Ark to be a little surprised, he could clearly feel that the wings were real, and not created out of mana, as he couldn't feel any sort of mana fluctuations at all.

Before he could feel too surprised, the creature slowly descended down onto the ground in front of the barrier. "Hahaha, who would've thought that so many excellent sacks of blood would come wandering into my home!

This isn't my birthday is it?" As the adventurers heard his manner of speech, they could feel their bodies shiver, the way he was talking about them was almost as if he saw them as some sort of lesser being, even though they dominated large parts of the continent.

When Ark tried to use inspect on the creature, he got a real shock. "Lesser Fallen Angel" was the only thing that popped up, along with its level, 152. Ark instantly took a couple of steps and positioned himself in front of Ephine and Atar, he wouldn't let them get hurt in a place like this.

Even if he wasn't sure how powerful a fallen angel was, considering its level, there was no way he wouldn't take this seriously!

The fallen angel took a couple of steps forward, and his face was soon discernible to all of them. To most people present, his angelic looks that almost seemed to be out of this world were quite shocking, but as Ark already knew that he was an angel, he wasn't that surprised.

Only a few people present had the inspect skill, and as they all eventually used it, they dropped down onto the ground in horror. This wasn't someone they could fight at all!

As the angel looked around at the scene, he noticed the corpses of the three ogres laying on the ground. "It seems like I'll have to make them a little more powerful next time, but unfortunately for you guys, you won't be the ones who tries to interfere when the time comes."

As they heard this chilly sentence, those with weaker mental fortitude started to shake in fear. Naturally Ark wasn't afraid, there was nothing to be afraid of. The worst thing that this angel could do to him was torture him, but he had already experienced that before. The only thing he cared for was Ephine and Atar, and he would make sure that they came out of this alive.

He cared about Thufrat too, but not in the same way, and Thufrat was almost as strong as Ark either ways, and he was sure that he could protect himself when it came down to it.

Ephine and Atar were strong, but they were not on the same level as Thufrat and Ark. The lesser fallen angel noticed the few people that weren't affected, and decided that they would be the first to die. They were the only people that could pose some kind of threat after all. Needless to say, he didn't want any kind of threats around, and wanted to get rid of them as fast as he could.

Since that was the case, the angel walked up to the barrier that he had almost destroyed earlier and gently touched it.

Before anyone could be surprised, the barrier collapsed in an instant, and shattered into tiny fragments of mana that scattered into the air. The young lady hurled a ball of very condensed fire mana at the fallen angel, which exploded as soon as it came into contact with him. The fire ball only left a slight singe mark on the fallen angel's skin.

This didn't really affect the angel's fair complexion at all, and he just smirked.

"You're being an eyesore!" With a step forward, the angel suddenly punched, aiming at her pretty face. The twin guards who had been unsure of what they were supposed to do instantly stepped forward. Since there was no time for them to prepare any sort of attack or a solid defence, they just stepped in front of her and superimposed their swords in front of her.

With their swords in front of her, they released all of the mana they could muster, in an attempt to stop the punch.

The devil didn't even bat an eye at their feeble attempt to defend their young lady, and just carried on with his punch. When the punch made contact with their swords, a horrible screeching sound instantly ruptured the eardrums of some of the adventurers who hadn't taken any defensive measures. Orange sparks filled the air as the two swords had no way to cut into the angel's hand.

The resulting force of the collision sent the two guards flying backwards. Since they had plenty of battle experience, they both inserted their swords into the ground the moment they went flying, and quickly stopped themselves from flying any further.

Since there was no way that they would leave their young lady behind, both of them instantly rushed forward as fast as they could, ready to face the angel once more. The young lady wasn't stupid, and she quickly retreated from the angel. The gap between the lady and her guards quickly narrowed, but the angel wasn't just going to let them do whatever they wanted.

Even if he was powerful, his opponents were no small fry either. This time, the twins had been preparing their mana for a strike all along, and they were ready to show the world their destructive power. The angel was getting a little serious in his attack now, and he infused his fist with an incomparably holy power. The holy power made his fist shine with a gentle bright light.

If not for his twisted nature, no one would've been able to guess that this was a move with the sole aim of killing people.

The contrast between his sacred fist and his twisted facial expression created a weird sight, and Ark felt quite disgusted when he saw it. The twins' swords started to shine in a sharp yellow light, and unlike the light that was emitted by the angel's fist, the light seemed very ferocious.

Their two swords almost seemed linked to each other, as they both attacked at the same time, combining their might into a single powerful attack.

The two brothers had excellent teamwork, and after fighting together for a long time, they had both awakened the same skill, which they had been using to cut down powerful foes. They didn't really know how it worked, maybe it was because they were twins, but ever since they were born, they had a special connection to each other.

If one of them awakened an attack skill, then the other was bound to awaken the same skill. They even looked the same.

Whether it was a blessing or a curse, neither of them had decided yet.
