Chapter 56 - Horse In Previous Life
Her mind was engrossing with his thoughts. Why? Leena asked.
"This is not the time to think about him, Leena! You have the utmost priority task now."
Pulling herself together, Leena quickly hid the chocolates and cookies. She slowly turned around putting up a sick face, acting like a malnutrition girl. If anyone other than Devin would have seen Leena's acting, they would have clapped for pulling Oscar-winning acting.
"I heard you hadn't eaten your food since morning sweetheart." Worriedly Devin asked her. He has to leave urgently for some office work and after talking with Kyle, he did not enter into their room when he knew his sweetheart would kick him again for teasing her in the morning. But now that he is seeing her face closely, a familiar airport scene was snapping into his brain. But Devin pushed those thoughts away. It wouldn't be possible. Leah clearly told her she did not even step out of the room.
"Because I am not hungry and if you don't stop calling me sweetheart, I will break one of your legs," Leena stated throwing a mocking look at him. Looks like he is done with his talking and finally found his way. Leena is still upset over the morning incident and she herself was in a dilemma why she is getting mad when it's his right to speak with any other women. She didn't care when Ethan was with other women and she even asked if he is interested, she will unite them.
"You can even break my other leg also, but I can't stop calling you sweetheart." Devin winked.
Leena closed her eyes not intended to talk with him. Provoking her has become a habit to him.
"Did you really not eat? Miss pervert can't even stand without food for an hour right?" When Devin was back from his work, Leah informed him that Leena has locked up in her room and she did not even have anything after breakfast. His anger rushed over and blasted at everyone for not informing about the most important thing.
"Did someone bully you here?" He asked when she is not answering. He sensed she is worried over something. Even though he knows no one dares to bully her, he still wanted to check with her once.
"No. President Donald Trump was nominated for a Nobel Prize award and my hunger died after hearing the news."
Devin pressed his lips to control his laughter.
"Actually I was hungry." Looking down at the floor Leena complained. "Leah did not even care if I had eaten or not. And that Austin would be eating the food which aunt Daisy cooked for me. At least they should have some responsibility right when I am here for their wedding?"
"Don't tell all these things to them. I am telling you this because you are my roommate." Dejectedly Leena muttered.
"Don't worry. My lips are zipped, darling." Devin pulled a zip-up gesture laughing at her whining. He will gladly listen to her complaints even if she keeps talking till eternity.
"Come. We will go and have dinner first. You must be hungry." Looking at her healthy face, Devin still doubted how she endured her hunger when her metabolism is rapid fast. If he doesn't act according to his own way, this stubborn girl would sit here itself. He cannot let her sleep without food, worse it turns into gastritis.
"I am not comi_"
Before she could complete her sentence, Devin swiftly removed her blanket to lift her up when she is declining food again. But his lips parted in shock watching the chocolate wrappers and cookie boxes falling on to the floor. So this is the reason. He already had a hunch.
"Hey! You shouldn't remove a girls blanket just like that." Leena wished to bury under a hole for eternity. She didnot expect he would suddenly push her blanket exposing everything. Thank God! At least I am wearing pants.
"I am sorry!" Devin apologized for his mistake. His worry got over him once and he acted on his instincts.
"Leaving that aside, should I tell everyone how you have masked them gobbling chocolates and cookies sitting here?" Devin counted the chocolate wrappers loud enough for Leena to hear, while she sheepishly looked down as if she is caught red-handed.
"Are you perhaps a horse in your previous life?" There were around twenty to thirty chocolate wrappers along with cookie boxes. How did she eat all those in a day? Before Devin could collect them to put in the garbage, Leena pushed him thinking that he would threaten her. Grabbing all the wrappers, Leena rushed inside her room, putting it in her bag.
"Now you can't expose me." Leena beamed after coming back.
"Stubborn little one." Devin lifted her up, scooped in his arms startling her. Unconsciously her hands clamped around his neck for support with fear of falling, her cheeks almost touching his shoulders.
"Put me down, idiot." She yelled in a low whisper, not looking into those enticing eyes. His breath was tickling her face turning crimson red. She could hear his beating heart for being close to his body which was creating a storm inside her. Her weakness was resolving day by day with their closeness and she was afraid if she can control her weak heart.
"Not until you have your dinner." He whispered, his tone turned raspy surprising him. Despite there was a turmoil brewing inside him for holding her close enough, he calmed himself.
Leena tried to move to free herself from his grip, his one hand was resting on her waist tightly squeezing, and another on her thighs tightly wrapping it as if she would run away from him. She wanted to tell him to loosen his grip a little, but she was embarrassed to bring the topic.
"God! I have never faced this kind of dilemma. He is the first to carry me, be it at the airport or now." She inwardly cringed.
Leena pinched and hit his arm in an attempt to free herself, but for Devin, those were feather touches of his sweetheart causing every fiber of his body to stand in anticipation for more.
Feeling her squirming under him, Devin squeezed her waist when he felt she is moving far away from him. Leena gasped for air with his sudden touch and unconsciously, she loosened her grip around his neck. Taking advantage of it, Devin pushed her to his chest even more closely. He will not let this golden opportunity to miss.
"If you struggle again, I will come to your room tonight and cut your hair unevenly or worse I will shave it completely." The only way to shut her completely is to disgrace her hair and face which she cares most in the world and he knew it works on this narcissistic brat.
"OMG! My precious hair." Leena gasped touching her hair in a protective manner. She tried to imagine herself with a shaved head.
"Stop imagining. I have already done that. Your bald head is cuter than your precious hair." Devin teased her.
"Ewww...You stupid idiot." She was continuously hitting his chest until they reached down the dining table gliding down the stairs.. When she sensed everyone was looking at her keenly with their wide mouths, she stopped her actions.
