The Devil's Sweetheart

Chapter 44 - Plot Twist

Sitting opposite to each other in their own chairs was none other than Leena and Devin. They were scrutinizing each other without even speaking a word. Looking at the man who is fully clothed now, Leen sighed in relief for his gentleman's behavior. At least he is decent enough to think of that in front of a woman.

"This is my room," Leena said breaking the silence.

"FYI, this is equally my room." Devin voiced out not backing off in front of this stubborn woman.

"Leah! A jinx is in my room." She screamed at top of her lungs like a child.

"Leah! A pervert is in my room." He parroted the same comment earning a sharp glare from the latter which Devin didnot mind and even winked at her playfully. Both were behaving like spoiled brats fighting over candy.

Leah rushed into their room when she heard the two familiar voices shouting. She expected this would happen sooner or later judging by Leena's temper. The moment Leah entered, she could sense a tense atmosphere between the two of them.

"What is he doing in my room?" She demanded staring at her friend.

"What is she doing in my room?" Devin glared at Leah sending signals to not reveal a single word about their previous conversation.

Looking at Devin, Leah imagined him as if he had grown three heads with a shock evident over her face. Before half an hour, he shamelessly threatened her with their friendship under the condition that it would be stake unless he stays in a room next to Leena. Now, he is acting as if he is innocent and she is the one being guilty. Her thoughts rewind to their earlier conversation.

....

Half an hour before.

"Vincy, are you really staying for my wedding?" Her excitement knew no bounds and dragged Devin into her room even before anyone could see him. She would not even get a chance to talk if her mom or dad finds about his arrival.

"How do you know Leena!" Sitting over a couch, he demanded. Another mystery of her. He has many questions that he had to find answers. Many of his close friends knew about her except him.

Leah was utterly confused with his sudden question.

"How do you know Le_"

"Since how long you knew each other?" He entailed when his patience was already running out when this idiot has been keeping mum to all the questions he is demanding answers.

"Four years." She mumbled in a week tone when his rage was making her shiver in fear.

"Does Austin also know about her?" He asked knowing the response he would get. When Leah nodded her head weekly, he confirmed his suspicion.

"Why didn't you introduce her to me?" He blamed her as if it was her fault.

My fault? There were times, Leah had tried to patch him up with her friends and fellow models, but everyone ended up hating him despite he has been named as the most handsome hunk by the entire world. He would always reject them with the most bizarre reasons and they would always complain to her about how he has mocked them. From then on, she stopped setting on dates for him. At one point in time, she had thought of bringing Leena and Devin together, but she was afraid of how these two stubborn ones would get together. Besides, she did not want her best friend to flare up in anger. Who would have thought, Devin already knew her and the way he is possessively talking about her, Leah could sense there is something more to it.

"Do you like her?" Leah asked him hesitantly to confirm whatever she has been assuming is voracious.

"No."

She knew it. Even if a goddess descends from heaven, he would not even bat an eye. This is the Wang Devin she had known since childhood. But his next words made her choke on saliva.

"I am Madly in love with her." He revealed without any hesitation. Devin did not want to keep his feelings a secret when he needed these idiots to help him in courting his little kit.

When did he learn those cheesy words? Leah wondered. Wang Devin in love! This piece of news would be a sensation to the world. Leah was on cloud nine. Devin was like a brother to her and Leena was her best friend. They would perfectly make the best pair.

"Keep it a secret from her." He warned. If his little kit comes to know about his feelings right now, she would definitely run away from him.

"And who is that louse pig wandering around her?" His thoughts flew back to the scene where he got a glimpse of someone watching his little kit and his mood turned sour when she even smiled when that pig offered a tissue to wash off her hands.

"He is Trent Scott, the famous rising actor and he is very popular among women." Leah blurted out without even knowing someone was drowning with jealousy.

"Why is he here? I don't think he is close to you or Austin." Devin looked at her suspiciously with a frown. He had a hunch that these idiots would have planned together and brought him here.

"Is it your set up?" He demanded to answer.

"I_I Vincy, actually it's not me. It was from Austin." She whispered putting all the blame on her fiancé. Had she known about their relationship, Leah would not even bring Trent for this marriage.

"Arrange a room next to my darling." With that, he went out not entertaining any talks. He was trying from every ounce of his cell to control his anger not to kill these idiots for setting up his little kit with a certain pig. Devin was glad that Leah pestered him to visit her. Had he was not here. No. Devin stopped imagining.

...

Present.

Leah was fidgeting her hands without even looking at her friend.

"Why is he in my room?" Leena asked again.

"How long you will keep mum Leah?" Devin added to her question.

Sly fox! He is the one responsible for her situation and now he is acting as if had lost the memories of their previous conversation.

"Actually, actually it's a linked room." She mumbled in a low voice. This house was built according to her grandmother's wish. Leah's grandmom met her grandfather when she checked into a certain hotel which was a linked room and she fell in love with Leah's grandfather there instantly. So, she was adamant about building this house in the same way as a token of their love. Leah, Daisy, and Austin used it for their advantage, arranging Trent's room next to Leena's so that they could get close to each other in these ten days.

"What? Linked room? Give me another room then." Leena couldn't understand the events unfolding in front of her. Why was she not informed of this before? She was mesmerized by this beauty of the house earlier, now there is only disdain towards the architect for planning it in such a stupid way.

"Every room has the same pattern and there is no one willing to swap either." She half lied. Although there would be someone willing to trade the room, Leah had to lie. Otherwise, She would get killed by someone if she is not careful with her words.

"Then I will stay in your room." Leena got up to grab her things but she was immediately dragged into the chair by Leah.

"Austin is staying next to my room. If you want to see our activities, you are welcomed to stay in our room."

"For god's sake, why the hell a groom is living in your house. Let me go to the hotel then."

"No." Both said in unison. Devin and Leah had meticulously prepared the possible questions Leena would ask and they even prepared the answers together, but staying in the hotel room question was out of the box which they didnot expect.

"How can you do this to me? We have been together through thick and thin for four years. I wanted you to enjoy our wedding. You can't even grant me the mere wish?" Leah wailed with her face burying in the hands.

"Can you stop Leah? I_ I will stay." She pressed her eyes with annoyance.

"Thank you, darling." Leah immediately stopped her cries and looked at someone with a proud face. Her look was obviously asking him to praise for her spontaneous acting. Devin scoffed and looked away from her with disinterest. Pathetic acting. She is still the same.

"Now that everything is settled." Leah clapped her hands with excitement and added. " He is my best friend W_"

Leena raised her hands stopping her to continue further.

"I know." Turning towards him Leena added. " Mr.Lord Voldemort, I have some conditions if you have to stay here."

"Very well Miss Jurassic park, even I have. After all, I have to live with a pervert for ten days."

Can he not bring that topic. That was the only mistake from her side.

Devin was glad that his darling has stopped Leah even before his name is revealed. He had no plan to disclose his identity right now. He wanted her to know him as a normal person, not the mighty Wang Devin which the world knows him as.

"Lord Voldemort? Jurassic Park? What kind of names are these?" Leah asked them. Why are these two behavings like children?

"It's none of your business. Now that your job is done, get out of here. We need to discuss some pressing matters." Devin shooed her out of their room. He was internally rejoicing thinking about how adventurous these ten days would turn out in their relationship.

With a broad smile, Devin exhaled a loud sigh with the roller coaster of their journey since morning.

What a plot twist! He was searching for a story to meet her up after he goes to New York but fates have dragged him here even before that.

Gazing up, he smiled shaking his head. Strangely, Leena also followed his direction to see if any ghost has appeared on the ceiling.

'My sweetheart is trapped in my web'

'I was supposed to be at the airport by now, but it was missed.'

'I was not planned to come here, but destiny brought me here to meet her again through the name wedding.'

Looking at all these incidents, they are definitely soul mates from the past lives and they would get married in no time with a bunch of children.

"Isn't it?" He asked facing her.

"Huh?"

"Nothing," Devin remarked. If she knew his thoughts, she would definitely run away from him or worst she would kick him out of this room.. He would be glad if he can hold her hands willingly before this wedding ends. Don't imagine much from this heartless woman Devin!
