Chapter 413 - Vihuelist
Leena was thoroughly impressed not only by Devin's skills but was flattered by his humor sense on that day. The list of cosmetic surgeries he mentioned on that day still runs at the back of her mind.
The thought of somebody pulling and cutting one's face gave Leena goosebumps in her skin. Is that why Rosalie looks beautiful, and her skin looks supple? When did she get the surgery? Cosmetic surgery would be so painful. How ugly she looked to go under a knife? Feeling guilt for bitching on her, Leena pulled the thoughts out of her mind. It's not in her morals to comment on someone when they are nice to her.
Devin drove to a small vintage restaurant which Leena took a liking to it recently. After having lunch, he personally dropped Leena at the office. Without getting down, Leena leaned forward, batting her eyelashes close to his face. ''Devin..'' Her soft alluring voice like an evening thrush was an invitation to his desire. He knows it's a trap of the temptress to lure him into her chasm.
His left hand fast pressed a button down the seat. ''What are your requirements this time?'' Pushing the seat all the way back, Devin scooped her into his lap with one swift move.
Playing with his shirt button, Leena added. ''Your company's anniversary_''
''Our company.'' He corrected, squeezing her waist. ''Do I have to remind you every time that I am your husband?
'''Fine. I am sorry.'' She grumbled into a pout. ''Our company's anniversary is happening in another two weeks, but I haven't yet purchased a dress. I am further confused about the choice of dresses this time. I know you don't like shopping. But I want you to come shopping, and help me chose one.''
''Do you have to seduce me for such a simple matter? Had I ever said no to my Sweetheart? I will take you to one of the best stores, happy?'' His hazel eyes shimmered his soul as he tweaked her nose affectionately. He planned to take her shopping this weekend, and surprise her but expected the anxiety from the shopaholic beforhand.
''Thank you, babylicious.'' She smiled, kissing his cheek. Leena stretched her arm to open the door, but Devin beat to it. ''Not yet..not after you tempted me into it. Let's have a quickie here.'' He pulled her close, whispering into her nape. ''I promise.'' Sweeping her silky hair to one side, he kissed down her shoulder blades.
''No....'' Leena managed a whisper, feeling his hands running down her arms. Her breath was coming in spurts of rough air. ''Let's not here..tonight.'' His hardness is poking her back hard. Quickie, my foot! Tell her about his stories. Last night, he iterated the same dialogue but railed her until she was exhausted, and he was satisfied. It's not even twenty-four hours, and he is horny again. She has to forget the four O clock meeting with a client if she let him mess with her. Drawing her senses, Leena composed herself and pushed his head onto the headrest. Devin let out a deep grunt for the apparent disturbance. ''Leena_''
''I have a meeting, you beast!'' She cut him off as she concentrated on smoothening her dress. ''I can't spend any more energy on you. Go to the office, and take care of yourself in the bathroom.''
Holding his arm tightly with one hand, Leena unlocked the door with the other and slipped off the car before Devin processed what's happening around him. Moments later, he heard a knock on the window. He pulled up to see Leena throwing a flying kiss at him before storming in the direction of her office.
''Is that your trick? Come back home.'' He grumbled, igniting the engine. ''I will not let you sleep tonight.''
....
Days passed, and the exciting weekend finally arrived, at least for Leena. Finishing the breakfast, she clasped her hands into Devin and let her take to any clothing store he wanted. He drove her to the Ranguine, a celebrity-visited shopping arena. So, both are practically free to roam without being concerned about the public.
Leena would be the one to nag in normal circumstances, but it was the exact opposite today. The moment she stepped into the back room of the clothing store, her eyes fell on a stunning red dress on display. Love at first sight, probably.
She prepared to finalize on the spot, but Devin made her go through a mix of trials with other dresses until Leena practically threatened him to pick the red dress.
By the end of the shopping, Leena was beyond exhausted, and to make her life worse, a model friend spotted her. Letting out a frustrated cry, she went aside to talk with her, leaving Devin alone.
Devin began browsing some interesting business links on his mobile to pass his time when he heard someone call him brother-in-law out of nowhere. A girl, not so familiar, appeared in front of him, wearing a smile on her face.
''You forgot me?'' Seeing his perplexed expressions, the girl reminded him of the hospital incident where she first met him for the briefest amount of time. ''Where is sister Leena?'' Emerie asked, peering at the crowd. Did he come alone?
''She went to meet a friend.'' Wearily Devin replied. ''How is your health? And why are you here?''
''I am perfectly healthy now!'' Emerie said. She then pointed her index finger towards the top floor. ''A celebrity music concert is happening here. I am the lead Vihuelist.'' She proudly stated.
''You play Vihuela? That's unique.'' Not many opt for Vihuela in an era of guitars. But, strangely, Devin heard the instrument's name for the second time. Where did I hear for the first time?
''Thank you. I was not fond of it initially. But with years of practice, I came to like it gradually. But I am not a professional player, though." Emerie replied. ''Why did you come here_''
''Emerie. The play is about to start. Come on.'' One of her friends called her.
''Sorry, brother-in-law. I have to go. The concert is about to start.'' Without waiting for Devin's reply, Emerie raced towards the elevator.
Devin's thoughts went into a venture as he deeply stared at the girl's guitar-shaped bag dangled on one of her shoulders.
