Chapter 267 - I Was Sent By Him
Chapter 267 - I Was Sent By Him
The next day, Lu Xingyan and her group were toured around the manor. During their tour, they met other hostages who were brought earlier than them.
The place was heavily guarded but the tour gave Lu Xingyan an opportunity to draw a map in her mind and scheme a route of escape. They were even brought out of the manor just so they could see the training grounds. There were cameras everywhere, watching them.
Lu Xingyan noticed that a huge gate surrounded the place and it was heavily guarded... The best way to escape was by going back to that cave but she would need a help from the inside, someone who could sail them out of the place. There was only one way to do that and that was to make someone fall in love.
She had read countless stories where love was the main reason on why a person could betray their own master especially if the master was as wicked as Murong Wei.
"Tomorrow, the last set of guests will arrive. The game will start by the end of this week." The servant who toured them announced. "That will be all for today. If you need anything, you can approach any of the guards." With that, she turned and left their group.
George scoffed, "Is this some kind of hunger game shit or something?"
"Something." Lu Xingyan replied. "But I'm sure that it's all about survival."
"They have eyes everywhere," Sano whispered, eyeing the cameras planted on the wall of the gates. "Escaping this place is impossible."
"Not entirely impossible."
The three turned their heads to the young girl. Eli couldn't help but ask, "Do you have a plan?"
"I'm still formulating one." She replied honestly.
George snickered and sarcastically said, "Aren't you a smart one huh?"
"She is. If I might remind you, it's all thanks to Xiao Xing that we're alive." Eli retorted, narrowing her eyes to George.
Although Lu Xingyan knew that even without her help, Eli and Sano would have survived but she remained quiet about it.
"So, what do you want us to do?" Sano asked. "Whatever you're planning, I'm in."
Lu Xingyan knew that her family would have begun looking for her. Unlike in her dreams where she was in another country, this time, she was kidnapped in a time and place where her family would end up looking for her. She knew that no matter what part of the world she was in, her family would surely come after her. All she needed was time and a way to survive.
...
The next day, Lu Xingyan and the others saw the new hostages that arrived. They were ten people and lucky for them, they weren't poisoned by Spider Lily.
As days went on, Lu Xingyan was able to get along with other hostages. Unity was important if she wanted to help others escape as well.
While they were in the middle of having their lunch, one of the newcomers, a man in his thirties approached her.
"Miss Lu Xingyan?" The man asked, confirming her identity.
Lu Xingyan turned to the man and blinked her eyes in confusion, "Yes?"
"Can I have a moment with you?"
Sano came in between them and crossed his arms. He puffed out his chest to even look more intimidating, "What do you want with her?"
Lu Xingyan was the youngest hostage in the room and for some reason, ever since arriving at the place, Sano instantly became her bodyguard without even anyone assigning him to be one.
"It's alright. Whatever you have to say to me, brother Sano can listen."
"My name is Zhong Li, I am..." Zhong Li paused and turned his gaze back to Lu Xingyan and whispered, "I am here because of your father. I was sent by him."
Her eyes widened in disbelief, "Y-you were sent here by... father?"
"Yes, I am here for you. Your father's men are on their way."
Sano was startled and looked at Lu Xingyan in surprise, "How's that even possible?"
"I'm not sure..." But all that Lu Xingyan could think of on how her father was able to find out the place all at once? Or how he was able to send in a spy in the place? So many things changed and were out of the script from her dreams.
"We had help from Han Xukun and his father... If not for the information they gave, we wouldn't be able to know that you're here. Aside from that, they said that they have a person inside. Tomorrow night, Madam Bingbing will take over the security cameras in this place and that will be our chance to leave." Zhong Li explained with a whispering tone. "Also, I have a tracking device planted in my body. As long as I'm alive, they will be able to track me here."
"We have to tell others," Sano muttered, looking at Lu Xingyan.
"No, we can't," retorted Zhong Li. "It's too risky."
"I agree with brother Zhong." Lu Xingyan said, turning to Sano. "The fewer who knows this, the fewer chances of getting discovered so please keep it a secret, for now, brother Sano. We will still go on with our original plan. We will attack from the inside and if by chance someone will find out about this plan, then that's alright. They wouldn't be able to do anything to us but restrain us. On the other hand, if they learned about my father's surprise attack then our chances of getting out here will be harder."
In the end, Sano was convinced by both Lu Xingyan and Zhong Li. The game was still two days away and she was glad that someone was coming to save them before anyone could die from the sick game. She was able to change the future. No one has to die. Sano would still be alive too, not just him but also the other people that died in her dream. Her father was coming to help them. That alone gave Lu Xingyan hope and will to survive the place until they arrive.
