The Dawn Of The New World

Chapter 64: Mistake

Chapter 64: Mistake

"Emperors Arrival" was the only version of demonic steps that didn't draw too much attention to Hao Xuan, and in exchange, it gave him extreme burst speed. This technique wasn't made to be used for an extended period of time. It was meant to be used in battle and catch your opponent off guard, giving the user an extra edge. It was unpredictable and extremely fast, that was its main selling point.

All four Jia soldiers that were following him were either at the top of Origin realm or in the Spirit realm, just like Kuo. Under normal circumstances, there was absolutely no way for Hao Xuan to get away from them. The only reason he was able to put some distance between him and them was because they let their guards down when they saw his much lower cultivation realm.

When he had left the Fortuna City he was at the Seventh stage of the Earth Realm. Throughout the journey he continued to train and cultivate, refining the bones, making them stronger and more durable. Now after about two weeks, he was at the Ninth Stage of Earth realm, ready to step into the Pinnacle stage and start preparing to break into the Origin Realm.

The distance between the soldiers and Hao Xuan got smaller and smaller, now they were only a bit more than 100 meters away. If not for Emperors Arrival he would have long been caught and dragged back to their camp.

"Damn it, I can't keep this up for much longer. I'm almost out of Qi. I could take out Bai and but even he won't be able to outrun these guys. What to do..." he tried to think of different ways out of his current situation.

"The cave system! I could lure them inside there!" he remembered the dreaded tunnel that Cui and Wei were in right now. Where it leads must be a horrible place.

"But, if even they can't survive there, how the hell will I? Leaving something like that up to chance is retarded. I'll save that option for later," he made up his mind and started looking around for some other way to lose them.

"Boy, what is this going to achieve? There is no way a technique like that can be used for any significant amount of time. We can continue chasing you for days if need be. Don't make this unpleasant. We just want to ask you a few questions," the Jia leader who's name was "Steel" shouted from behind.

"Unpleasant? You were gonna break my legs, THAT'S not unpleasant?!!" Hao Xuan asked angrily. These guys were sure changing their minds pretty quickly. Just a few mins ago he told Monk to break Hao Xuan's legs and now he didn't want to make things "Unpleasant"? That was some solid logic right there.

"Fine, that was my bad. I was a bit too harsh with my wording. Our boss just wants to talk to you, after that you will be free to go," Steel tried to reason with him.

"Sure, if it's like that then stop following me. Tell me the location of the camp and I'll go there myself when I am good and ready."

"Don't push it kid. You're coming with me one way or another!"

"And there it is. No reason to lie. Just be straight. Alright, if you can catch me then I will come with you without making a fuss," Hao Xuan finally gave in.

"But as I said, you have to catch me first!" he mumbled and started channeling Infernal Rapture but didn't activate it. "It's not gonna be easy," he thought and shouted as loud as his body would allow.

"AAH!" All of his internal organs had been strengthened and refined hundreds of times in the Elementary Realm making them dozens of times stronger than normal people. This obviously included his vocal cords. He channeled Qi into them and let it rip.

A sound wave that was visible with the naked eye extended out in every single direction with Hao Xuan as the center. And because he had used Qi to make the sound, it wouldn't dissipate anytime soon and would travel for dozens of miles.

"STOP! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING!!!" Steel shouted in panic. This was a damn jungle. Even though they were strong enough to handle most beasts but that was four against one and even then they wouldn't take on anything too strong. What Hao Xuan just did would attract every single powerful beast from dozens of miles away.

"Told you it wasn't gonna be easy," Hao Xuan turned his head and gave a wide smile.

*CRAAAAAW*

*EKKKKKKKKKK*

*ROAAAAAAR*

*EUHHHHHHH*

A multitude of horrendous noises came from every single direction, getting closer by the second.

"You god damn idiot! You just stirred up the entire jungle! Because of the winter, most stronger beasts were asleep and you just fucking woke them up. Now they are hungry AND angry and you just rang their dinner bell. Everyone in the Poison Quarry is dead, DEAD!" Steel shouted one last time and stopped chasing him.

"BACK! Back to the camp! We can't leave the boss alone!" he ordered and they all jumped straight up into the air, leaving Hao Xuan dumbfounded.

"Wha- b-bro where you going?! Take me with you!" Hao Xuan shouted but they disappeared in a flash.

"What the hell, I didn't know it would be such a huge deal, fuck me," the seriousness of the situation finally dawned on him.

*RUUUMBLEE*

The entire ground started to shake and the tree's in front of him were ripped apart. There were about ten gigantic beasts coming straight at him. They had heads of Oxen with large horns and the body shape of a rhinoceros. Their eyes were dark red and saliva was coming out of their mouths like a fountain.

*BOOOOOM*

The area behind him exploded as well and out came dozens of horse-like creatures with extremely sharp teeth but they were on their hind legs standing up straight, looking like something out of a nightmare.

*CRAAAAACK*

The tree's from his left parted and a gigantic green serpentine head came out with three rows of saw-like teeth and a gas coming out of its mouth.

"Are you serious?" he took out the Glaive which was stored after getting out of the Jia soldier's encirclement.

"Fine, Let's see what you got. It's been a while since I fought for real anyway," he took out a small bottle from the storage ring and emptied it in his mouth.

It was a Brute Potion. It wasn't really used by many people and was only given to the leaders of the Red Legion to use in case of an emergency.

It would give a power boost, restore Qi and decrease the expenditure of Qi for normal attacks and techniques. The only downside was that it was extremely hard to make and would leave the user in a weakened state for a few hours after its effects disappeared.

He completely activated both of his meridians as well as Wrath of Deimos and took out the sword as well, holding it in the left hand.

There were black electric sparks all over his body, and with the glaive and the sword in each hand and two extra appendages that somewhat looked like spider legs, he actually looked like a monster.

His long hair were dancing in the air. The monsters were almost upon him but for some strange reason, instead of panicking, he actually felt excited.

"Hahaha, this is gonna be fun," Infernal rapture was fully activated and the glaive and the sword were completely black now. He activated demonic steps and with another load roar took a step forward and shouted, "HEAVENLY BLARE!"

*BOOOOOOOOOOOM*
