The Dawn Of The New World

Chapter 1194 MY TIME

A sharp pain ripped through the back of Hao Xuan's eyes just as things were starting to pick up. His vision flashed several times and no matter how much he tried to focus there wasn't much to hold on to.

It was like trying to capture raindrops in a sieve. Memories were just flowing through him and upon opening his eyes again he realized why that was.

The army of shadowy figures had revealed itself to him once again, led by that teenage boy at the front that resembled him a little.

One of the shadowy figures standing by his side that had some very distinct features unlike most others was looking right at him. And even though he hadn't seen that face before Hao Xuan somehow knew that the memories he just saw belonged to him.

It took him a second to regain his composure before glancing back at the figure to the side.

'You won't show me more but you want me to still know it. Why?'

The thought had just crossed his mind subconsciously but to his utter surprise the figure looked over at the teenage boy. As if to say, "Ask him".

When Hao Xuan looked at him again the teenager was smiling. The kind of pretentious smile that screamed "It is a secret".

Xue Meng who was looking right at Hao Xuan throughout had his brow furrowed to the extreme.

'Was that-'

But he couldn't even think for moment with Tian Zheng cursing under his breath right next to him.

"This fucking bastard dares to ignore me?! Must I really take this level of disrespect from a thing like him?!"

"Shut up!" Xue Meng growled angrily, instantly turning him into a mute.

He turned back towards Hao Xuan while clutching the saber tightly. There was a very strange feeling he had just gotten from it. The saber was stirring!

Hao Xuan was looking in Xue Meng's direction but seeing right through him as if he wasn't even there.

He finally couldn't take it anymore and spoke up again.

"Wake up, what are you looking at?!"

He released a bit of his aura which made the entire area turn silent. Not even the winds dared to make a noise in his presence.

Hao Xuan's gaze finally refocused, looking right into Xue Meng's eyes.

And for the first time in a VERY long time, he felt uncomfortable, even a little unsure of himself.

"You...you are not the same boy I met in that pit. Those are not the same eyes that looked at me before."

Hao Xuan was shaken from the bottom of his heart but didn't let it show one bit. Xue Meng was the first person that had noticed the change in him so clearly.

"No wonder, the spirit of a true expert can distinguish even something like that, huh?"

Xue Meng's heart was beating faster and faster but he couldn't tell why. He felt like there was something missing but he couldn't tell why so...he decided to ask.

"What happened to you? Why are you....different? HOW are you different?"

"Am I different? I don't feel any different," Hao Xuan answered honestly but it made Xue Meng even more cautious.

"That's even worse. If you can't even feel yourself changing, how will you know when you have become someone else?"

Hao Xuan gritted his teeth in annoyance.

'Who is he to tell us we are changing?! We are the same as we have always been!'

He didn't even realize that he had referred to himself as the plural "we" in that moment.

'Ask him! Ask if he knows it!' a whispering voice in his subconscious urged Hao Xuan and he somehow knew exactly what it was talking about.

His eyes trailed down to the saber before narrowing to slits, "Tell me, have you even met it yet?"

That knowing, condescending tone of voice fell like a hammer on Xue Meng's heart. And for the first time since coming to this planet, he felt like things were not under his control anymore. They were not so simple.

A hint of killing intent unintentionally leaked out as he held the saber ever so closely.

"Who are you? What do you know of this matter?!"

Hao Xuan shrugged with half a smile, "Nothing...yet."

"AAAH! ENOUGH! THIS IS MY TIME!" Tian Zheng suddenly screamed from the side while pulling his hair.

Both Hao Xuan and Xue Meng had completely forgotten about him in the heat of the moment and their conversation fell on deaf ears when it came to him.

Hao Xuan's mood soured relatively quickly. Just the mere presence of this bastard made him want to puke but at least he was more confident than before.

If what he just saw was correct, the saber hanging by Xue Meng's waist was the same one from his memories.

'This can't be a coincidence. That saber, my memory, if I absorb that specific shadow completely I will understand everything, I'm sure of it."
