Chapter 57: Knowledge Part 1

As soon as she asked the question she could see his uncomfortable and unsure expression.

"If you do not wish to, there is no need to" she stated, not wanting to make Damian feel uncomfortable.

"I have a simple Pyro Soul Spirit that I understand the basic uses of, but as you can see I am very tired" replied Damian, finding an excuse for not using his Soul Spirit.

"Yes, you must have been working hard. But anyway for the next lessons there is no need for you to come into class if you don't want to and I will mark the academy records as though you have been coming to all the lessons" offered the teacher, seeing how much Damian already knew.

"I would appreciate that and it would allow me to gain more knowledge in the library" accepted Damian.

"Not that your lessons aren't good" added Damian seeing her expression change slightly.

Damian was unsure of her power, status or age, but knowing that she was a teacher and seeing that she was quite young, he knew she was capable.

"I appreciate your understanding and assistance" thanked Damian as he stood up and prepared to leave.

"And I appreciate your sharing of knowledge that has inspired me to rethink my ideas about the elements" she replied.

"What should I call you in the future," asked Damian as he was leaving.

"Hmmm, I am mostly known as Miss Valdez, but if there is nobody there you can just call me big sis" she answered giving him a warm smile.

Damian was shocked initially by her answer, but then was happy that he had gained the favour of the teacher that was kind to him and would be a big help to him in the future.

"Okay then, Thank you for the lesson big sis" stated Damian as he closed the door behind him and left.

Damian had a very likeable personality once somebody became friends with him and realised how nice he could be, but from an outside perceptive he may seem angry, arrogant and rude as he would ignore most and also only focus on his aims.

[Now that I have this library pass, I can finally relieve my curiosity towards what was inside the knowledge section of the library and I am also interested to see that mysterious librarian again. Then after doing some research and also reading over historical records, that may be different to the ones that I was taught in the Maxwell Family, I will go to the mission hall and find a challenging mission] decided Damian.

With that in mind, Damian headed straight towards the library that was close to the centre of the academy and had a large area of his own.

Some recognised Damian, others didn't and gave him dirty looks, however, Damian didn't care about the others in the academy and headed towards the library quickly.

After showing his library pass that was attached to his Identification Card, Damian was allowed to enter the library, through the large walls that surrounded it.

Upon entry, he didn't see the librarian that he was hoping to see and leave a good impression on, but suddenly Damian felt a gust of wind across his face and the old librarian appeared behind him.

After Damian had a rapid increase in strength, he had come up with a way to hide his aura and power level to the best of his ability with Utsusu and the Golden Flame Master's Inheritance's assistance.

However, the librarian could easily see past Damian's retracted aura that everybody else, that Damian had come across, wasn't capable of.

"You must have understood the scroll somehow" observed the librarian excitedly as he dragged him into his room that was behind the library's front counter.

"Tell me child, what was in the scroll that none of us could open" enquired the librarian curiously.

Damian bowed down to the old man after he let go of him, and didn't answer straight away.

[Utsusu should I answer him honestly. I am not sure what to tell him] asked Damian, not wanting to reveal his secrets, but also not wanting to offend the librarian.

{Answer honestly but don't tell him everything. It should be enough to tell him that a method was imprinted into your mind and it cultivates your fire Soul Spirit. But do not elaborate or inform him that it is an inheritance as the Golden Flame Master warned that he had many enemies} advised Utsusu.

Seeing Damian's hesitant expression the librarian was disappointed and didn't want to force him to say anything.

But just as he was going to allow Damian to leave, he suddenly answered.

"As soon as I opened the scroll there was a blinding light and a method was imprinted into my mind and it was a method to cultivate a Fire Soul Spirit. I was compatible with the method, that is why you wouldn't have been able to open the method. It is quite powerful and is E:5 Ranked" blurted out Damian.

Hearing him, the librarian could tell he was mostly telling the truth, and Damian surprised even himself by how well he manipulated the truth to protect the secret of the inheritance that he gained.

"So that means I won't get to see the method" pouted the old man, that was acting like a child.

"It must be an incredible method for you to have such rapid growth, that is on par with many of the great Core Disciples" commented the librarian as he observed Damian.

Damian was shocked by the librarian's ability to see past his retracted aura, but it was to be expected from somebody powerful enough to substitute for the principal.

"But you also seem to have reached a small bottle neck because of the rapid growth" observed the librarian, reading Damian's body like an open book.

Now even Utsusu was shocked by the observations of the librarian who seemed to be a crazy old man, yet was so capable.

His gaze made Damian feel was though he was naked and vulnerable before the man.

"But either way kid, you should cultivate diligently and you must be here to research with your library pass. It seems you are making good impressions within the academy and I appreciate your honesty. So quickly go and don't waste any time. You should make the most of your youth and talent, without being restricted by ignorance and conflict, and soar past this country" advised the librarian.

The librarian's words all seemed to have hidden meanings behind them that Damian was yet to understand, but what he did understand from his words, was that he must be the greatest and work his hardest to reach that goal.

"Yes I will" declared Damian as he left the librarian and followed his directions to the knowledge section of the library.
