Chapter 861: Chapter 859-A Nice Time.

"Did you just bring me there to show me my future if it weren't for you?"

Zora asked as we walked into the more beautiful and well-lit part of the place. I remained silent for a moment, after which I asked.

"Do you think that is the reason I did this?"

Zora didn't respond, but her silence spoke volumes about her being out of line. The two of us just aligned together in the silence, after which Zora spoke.

"Sorry, I was just influenced by my emotions for a moment. I guess I had, in a sense, come to forget how twisted the world really is."

As Zora said this, she held the beautiful butterfly gear in her hands, her eyes shifting through it as I asked.

"Did you have to fill that boy with such hope?"

My words made Zora smile a bit as she replied.

"The hope of a child in the past had given me the will to move forward. I think it's in my interest to share that back to the world."

I smiled lightly at her words. The words she spoke to the dwarf at the end had more meaning to them than normal, those words only being spoken when the buyer thinks and believes that the dwarf who created this could reach the top, going forth to become the best of the best.

I didn't respond to Zora's words, my hand went forth to give a light pat on her shoulder, a small one, but it showed all the support that she needed. Zora just lightly nodded her head back at me at this as the two of us moved away from this crowded place to a more secluded area of peace, Zora's face looking impassive as we walked along, to which I suddenly asked.

"Want to get a drink?"

Zora nodded her head at it, still in deep thought as we kept walking by, soon entering a shop run by some humans who gave us a light smile as I ordered.

"Two of your special drinks, please."

I said with a smile, paying for it and taking the token, after which I took a seat at the place Zora did, this being a small shop with a large window out into the street. Zora had taken a seat near the window zone, looking out into the streets where the dwarves moved around, the shop was filled with some dwarves sitting in their designated structure while some other species ate and drank, too.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

I couldn't see any sort of racial discrimination here, well, at least I can't see it, but my sense picked it up all over the place. Getting my focus off it, I looked at Zora as I asked.

"You look to be in deep thought. Care to share some of them?"

Zora looked at me at that question, her gaze holding my face, after which she spoke.

"It's just I am thinking of doing something about all this."

"Um?"

This is the response I gave back, to which Zora spoke in a bit more detail.

"There might be a lot out there, with talent, but not one being seen by others. I want to do something to provide these people with that chance, to be someone that will believe in them."

I didn't respond directly to it as I, along with Zora, just looked into the outside world, my silence giving Zora the will to continue to speak.

"You gave me hope by trusting in me, giving me loads of support till I found my way, proving that I am not talentless, that I am not useless, and I lived away with that blessing, not thinking much of how I can share this blessing of mine with others who might be in the same situation as me."

I smiled internally at the words of Zora.

'Guess she found her way through this.'

In the game, there is this scenario, but it comes authentically after Zora suffers a lot, a thought that leads her to create something beautiful to help people suffering like her, something which snowballs into something greater. It was amazing, and it gave Zora more sense of life than any kind of experiments she did.

It became the backbone of her identity, and in this timeline, she doesn't have those thoughts due to the very fact that I helped her out, taking away all the hardships she would face. So, I orchestrated this to give her a small chance back at it, to see if she would have the same thoughts again—not for some experiment or such, but just to make her better.

It was to make her happy, to bring back something beautiful into the world, and even above all, it was to see Zora succeed.

"I became the typical witch, focusing fully just on me, being addicted to my life, and I never thought of sharing this blessing I have, the thought of giving hope to others, not being in my selfish self until now."

As Zora spoke till here, the waitress came and placed the drinks on the table, two ice cream- filled desserts, after which the waitress took the token away from my hand and went towards the other client. I lightly pushed Zora's food towards her, who now looked at me.

"You wanted me to find this, didn't you? You wanted me to see what I was missing. Did you want me to take this path?"

I held my gaze to Zora for a moment, after which I spoke honestly.

"You can say it's half-half. I wanted to show you the world that exists in darkness, a society that has fallen because they can't embrace the change or the difference, and I wanted to see the change in you."

"Why?"

To this question, I took a bite of the ice cream. First, the flavours exploded in my mouth as I replied.

"I just felt like you needed to see it, to understand it. You might be so focused on all around your life that I see you falling into only research, it being your life just like the other witches. A social change to affect the world, something to keep you centred around society, was slowly disappearing, and you needed it."

My words had a certain edge to them as I continued.

"The truth is that you were slipping away. I don't know if you remember it, but in the days when we were together, I remember you once saying to me with great anticipation that one day you will spread all that you have to others to help them. But later on, and now, all I could see is you slipping into being a full-blown witch, that innocent smiling Zora of the past slowly fading away."

My words made Zora clutch her hands together as she asked.

"Is that a bad thing?"

To this, I directly replied, shaking my head.

"No, it's not bad at all. I care for both the Zora, but I also didn't want you to be fully lost in the world of the witches like the rest of them. It would seem, after joining their world, you have seen so much that the little innocent you that was there was slowly being erased, and you could say it was also my own selfish desire to not see that die, fully disappear."

As I said this, I took another sip of the ice cream drink, Zora nodded her head at my words as she focused on the ice cream in her hands.

"I see..."

She muttered as she went forth to take a bite of the ice cream, a small, gentle smile coming to

the edges of her lips as I spoke.

"Whatever path you take, I would support it, but I also didn't want you to fade away. You were slipping and locking yourself into your experiment rooms, becoming like the other witches. It was eating away at you, and that wasn't completely you. And beyond all that, I wanted something in your life that would make you always smile."

A light happiness at the end of my tone, to which Zora didn't reply, she took a bite of her ice

cream. Though this time, she did go forth to cover her face with her hat. I didn't look at her face, but my senses did pick up her face, which was fully bright, with a beautiful blush on her face that covered over her neck to her cheeks to the tip of her ears.

But that wasn't all; it was filled with a very wide smile on her face, a very, very wide one as she shrank herself to the ice cream, seemingly using the ice cream to cool herself. Just one look at her is enough to tell that she was moved in many ways, her heart beating faster than any, and I didn't even have to have super sense to detect it.

Thus, the two of us didn't say anything to each other, Zora seemingly crawling into that position, avoiding me as she ate her ice cream, while I just focused on my own, the two of us just sitting there like that, enjoying the small peace and calm.
