The Chronicles of the Immortal God

Chapter 100: Infiltration

Chapter 100: Infiltration

Right before the wolf’s claw could hit them, Mina let out a shout. She reached inside her robes and then she threw a talisman in the air.

The talisman let out a glow as it collided with the claw. The talisman turned into a shield that nullified the wolf’s attack. No, not nullify. The talisman seemed to have absorb the attack.

Once the wolf noticed that its attack had been nullified by the talisman, it frowned as it stared at the talisman warily. Mina took it as a chance to execute one more move.

“Pei!”

Min clenched her fists as the talisman dropped to the ground. As the talisman was starting its descent, she pulled Bloodspear with her towards Fang Lin. She managed to grab Fang Lin right before the talisman could hit the ground.

“Boom!”

The talisman, upon its contact with the ground, exploded with the energy that it absorbed from the attack of the wolf. Upon being hit by this, Mina, Bloodspear and Fang Lin were catapulted high into the air.

Mina made sure that their distance from the talisman will make them not only be blasted upwards, but also away from the wolf and the bratty boy.

“Now, Yao’er!” While he was in the air, Fang Lin called out the name of his pet which had been almost forgotten everyone already.

Before going at the Forest of Death, Fang Lin realized that this place will be Yao’er’s paradise. The inherent darkness within the forest was the perfect playground for Yao’er.

So, once they were inside the Forest of Death, Fang Lin made Yao’er to be integrated with the shadows at the Forest of Death. He reminded her to just watch from afar, and to not make any moves until he says so.

Yao’er repeatedly nodded with her cute face as she pouted towards Fang Lin.

“I will not let down Master!”

There had been many close calls earlier where Yao’er were sorely tempted to rescue her Master. But she remembered her Master’s command. So Yao’er just behaved like an innocent child and watched over her Master worriedly.

But right now, Yao’er heard Fang Lin’s signal for her to move. Even though Fang Lin did not say what he wanted Yao’er to do, Yao’er clearly knew what her Master desired.

She streaked through the air and snatched the stone fragment from the bratty boy!

Before the boy, the old man and the wolf were able to react, Yao’er had already merged with the shadows, with the stone fragment on her possession.

Once the three realized what happened, they were all enraged. They attempted to track where Yao’er went but to their dismay, she was nowhere to be found.

If it were outside the Forest of Death, these three would have easily caught Yao’er.

The presence of darkness outside the Forest of Death was sparse compared to the forest itself. Yao’er’s mobility will be severely hampered there.

But inside the Forest of Death, even the air itself can be a medium for Yao’er to merge with. This wider range of movement allowed Yao’er to escape the trio.

As for Fang Lin? He with his other two teammates was blasted away, heading straight towards the center of the Forest of Death.

“Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

...........................................

Solstice Kingdom, King’s Castle.

“Muuu....”

Tang Li was aimlessly heading towards the castle. She felt a divine beast bloodline that seemed to reside in the castle.

“Yay! Another Sis!” Tang Li cheered to herself as she went nearer the castle. Her cheerful mood was however wiped when she saw what the castle looked like.

“Mu....... Sho shcary!” Tang Li almost cried when she saw the creepy vibe of the castle. She hurriedly wiped her tears as she clenched her fists.

“Sis shaid that be bwave always! Tang Li not shcared!” Tang Li braced herself as she entered the castle through a slight opening at the window at the top of the castle.

“Muuu... sho shad here.” Once Tang Li was inside, she could feel the gloomy atmosphere inside the castle. Tang Li left the room she was situated in and continued wandering.

Thanks to her undetectability, none of the wandering people inside the castle bumped into her. Tang Li followed her bloodline calling and headed straight down.

Tang Li continued to flit at the hallways. She only stopped once she was facing an iron door. The door was reinforced with many protective charms, with countless glowing chains crisscrossed across it. The door must have been there to protect anyone inside the room from the outside.

But this time, this door was used to contain the danger.

Tang Li shivered as she heard pained roars coming behind the iron door. She could almost feel the raw pain that the owner of the roar feels.

“Muuuuuu....”

Even with her special abilities, Tang Li had no way to bypass the security. So, she just did what a baby like her could do at these moments.

“One sheep, two sheep, thwee sheep.....”

Tang Li once heard her mother saying that doing this count can remove someone’s boredom. With her gullible mind, Tang Li whole-heartedly believed what her mother said.

“Wa wandwed sheep, wa wandwed two sheep, wa wandwed thwee sheep...” At this point, Tang Li was barely awake. She felt her drowsiness overtaking her. She had been duped by her beloved mom!

“Mwuu...”

She struggled to keep herself awake as she wobbled in the air. She tried to keep her eyes open as she forced herself to be clear-headed.

Luck seems to be on Tang Li’s side since at that moment, someone arrived on front of the iron door.

This person wore black robes that draped the floor. This person can be considered handsome, but that handsome look was definitely from the past.

This person currently had sunken eyes with eyebags as dark as the night. His face was so pale that it seemed like he was lacking nutrition. His eyes lost all signs of hope as it just looked full of despair.

His body was hunched, as if his body could not tolerate the burden he was carrying now.

Tang Li’s drowsy expression was replaced by sorrow as she saw the miserable expression of the man. She then heard him muttering,

“The Immortal God Sect Disciples have arrived my love... I am sure they have a way to help you! But if they fail...” The man clutched his trembling hands as he declared,

“I am personally going to liberate you!” He squared himself as he touched the door.

All the restrictions put on the door faded as the chains slinked away from the door. Once all the restrictions were gone, the man pushed the door open and entered the room. Tang Li used it as her chance to enter the room.

Once inside, Tang Li saw the one that was the source of the Divine Beast Bloodline that she detected. But before she could observe the Divine Beast, she felt a wave sweeping through her.

Once this wave went past through her, she felt her abilities getting sealed. Her ability of flight and her undetectability disappeared!

The confused Tang Li could only shout in surprise as she crashed at the floor. Thanks to her body being bathed in countless elixirs by her parents, it was tough enough to withstand the impact.

“Muuu...... It hurts! Sis! Waaa!!!!!!!” Tang Li started bawling inside the room. Her pitiful cries were heard by the depressed man.

“Halt! Who are you!” The man grabbed a sword as he pointed it at the crying Tang Li.

“Muuuu...” Tang Li, with her cute tear-stricken face, pouted miserably as she faced the depressed man.

“Gah!”

Tang Li’s cute attack was effective! Depressed man was stunned!

But the man just shook his head after being dazed for a few seconds. He then said desperately,

“You must be a new kind of dragonspawn! I cannot allow you to live!”

He then slashed his sword towards Tang Li!
