THE CEO AND ME!

Chapter 237 - LONGEST WALK OF HER LIFE!

PRECAP

Pulling the dress down, he chained his zipper up. She licked her lips as she felt them dry and before he could say anything, she stormed out of the empty storage room in the flash of the second. He followed her and tried to call her back.

"Madison??"

But she kept walking away. By now, even he was annoyed and irritated by her behaviour....the way she was treating him.

Instead of going after her, he decided to give her some time and clear her head. She was of course not in the right state of her mind at this point...or even before and during their act of shame.

His trip to San Francisco had been a top-secret one. He had spent a near millioⁿn for the security to keep the paparazzi away from the entire county where he was going to be.

If one civilian...just one came to leak it that he was here, all the money, all the hard work of his team would be flushed down the toilet in a flash of the second.

"I m Kian Randall, CEO of the Randall International Corp.!"

And the long silence that followed after his confession, it was eerie and for a moment, he felt like the old woman was not even believing him by then too.

"So does it mean...Tinsley is Tinsley Rutherford in real??...the heiress whose parents left her nothing...and you marrying her made your aunt, Valeria Wilson to disown you from the Wilson Oil company??"

Jessica implored and Kian just gave a short nod to all her questions. It was true. She just narrated their history together in a short note.

Madison fed Lana her hot soup from the bowl in silence.

The talk with the doctor regarding her ongoing treatment had not gone good. It was only more worrisome.

She and John were both there when the doctor informed them that the only way Lana could get better was through a possible transplant.

But the operation to perform such a complicated operation was very risky and chances were not all good.

So by that time, the doctor had already passed them the message that after all these treatments, the nonstop tiresome procedure, Lana was not getting any better.

And that the transplant was the only way. The big decision was to be made by then.

Madi had left the doctor's cabin without sharing any word with John. It had been like that since their time together in the secluded storage room.

She had quickly gone back to Lana's chamber where she excused the nurse to feed Lana herself.

"Why are you so silent today?"

Lana questioned. She could notice the sad melancholy colours on Madi's face.

Not like they had a normal chatty conversation on other days, but today, Madi was just awfully silent.

"I know that I m not going to get better!"

She let out. She knew that. Her brother and her partner did not have to worry about such a failing matter.

It made Madi look at Lana. She smiled at her and held Madi's hands in hers, sitting up straight on the bed.

"It has been the reality all along. Do not try to turn a failing matter into a winning one!"

Lana said and a lone tear escaped Madi's eyes. She smiled at Madi, rubbing the tears away from both her cheeks.

Getting the transplant done at the right time was their last hope. But even after a month or two of searching for her matching donor, there had been no green answer to it.

John was more than frustrated as he had ever been. He had taken leave from his work, imposing all the responsibilities upon his cabinet as he went around only looking for that possible donor.

It had been a hard week. With not one good news, they both were losing hope day by day and could feel that bad feeling taking over them...their entire form.

"I have accepted it... it's about time, you both do too...especially you!"

Lana asserted and it was like a knock...a big hit to Madi's heart and she broke down.

From the outside, standing by the door, hiding his presence, John was listening to all of his sister's words and it made his eyes water.

He saw them hugging as Madi cried her eyes out and Lana tried to console her, rubbing her back.

He could not withstand that sight and turned around to leave. It was the same as the one, twenty years from ago, his mother...dying like that...

Just because Beth had gone missing in action, Tinsley had to cover up for her part of the task too.

After a short lunch break, she tried to look for Beth almost everywhere but could not find her so eventually returned to get the work done for the limited time left.

In the meantime, find out that he had left and was thereon more, she found relief in herself.

Although she knew that the drama would be waiting for her back at the house.

When the door hung open, she looked up to see Beth, who walked up to her position.

"Where have you been??"

Tinsley asked and Beth just smiled at her, wearing her apron back.

"I had to cover up for half of your shift."

Tinsley complained and Beth still did not say anything, taking up her position to start with her work.

"Not a big deal, I have helped you out many times too!"

Bethany remarked, rolling the dough. And that made Tinsley to tilt her head to have a glance at her.

"I did not say I minded doing your task."

She really did not mind doing her task. She just got worried when she could not find her and after a time where she went to confront him.

"I just could not find you and that made me concerned!"

Tinsley completed. Bethany did not utter out anything and continued with her work.

Before Tinsley was about to leave, Beth called her out and it made Tin to stop and turn around.

"Take this!"

She forwarded a rose in her direction and it made Tin, not understand the situation at first for why Beth was giving out a rose to her.

Yet she accepted it and pinned it to her hairs in the backside. Giving a sweet kiss to Beth, both resumed with their work silently.

And when it was time to leave, Beth left first, still not saying anything to Tin related to that...and it only made her wonder more what had happened.

Tin collected all her belongings and walked out of the bakery. It was almost dusk and in the front, she could see him, leaning by the hood of his Audi, arms folded, in the corner.

He looked up and their eyes interlocked. She held her bag tighter, not knowing what to do.

He did not move from his position and waited for her if she would come to him by herself or not. He was not going imply force to get her to come to him.

After a bit of timelapse, their eyes trying to find the right word to communicate with each other, she gave up and turned around, walking forward.

He could see that she was not going to ride with him and he ran up to her, crossing the road and got to her side.

Tinsley looked at him, halting on her steps, expecting him to argue with her, scold her and try to push her towards his car.

But when none such happened, she very slowly stepped forward and so did he.

They did not talk throughout the walk and continued moving forward in the twilight, without saying a word.

It was a very awkward walk of her life. She had a habit of talking and strolling with Beth or Kyle.

They would talk about their day as they moved forward, some celebrity news, about foods, and mostly make fun of their bosses.

It was what cut the time short from the shop to home walk yet with him by side, walking step by step together, it seemed the journey was just too long and draining.

It felt like never-ending. There was not going to be a quick exit out from this path either as they had already come halfway through...turning around was not an option now.

Mostly, she was expecting what might occur once they had reached home. She was worried and also anxious.

Even though the doctor had asked her to stay away from worrying too much, excluding being anxious, but with his presence and his unsteady behaviour, she just could not help it in herself.

Although she was trying hard to keep it stable. When they reached their alley, her steps got steadier, not wanting the neighbours to see her walking home with a stranger.

She reached the doorstep and saw the pie from Jessica, lying on the porch, wondering why the old woman did not come herself to give her.
