The Black Necromancer

Chapter 542: Dire Situation

The situation of Datar was dire. That was one thing that everyone present came to understand when they assessed the situation.

While the True Gods present were no slouches and were confident of being able to battle against Izeal and whatever goons he came with, they were handicapped by the fact that they would need to avoid doing anything that might exacerbate the deterioration of the world's foundation.

Of course, none of them entertained any thoughts of fighting within the boundaries of Datar, and planned to commence the battle well away from the world. However, the effects of a battle between so many True Gods were bound to be far reaching and would still definitely affect Datar.

Because of this, they had to constantly pay attention not to let their powers recklessly fly around, and they would also need to watch out for anything the enemy sent in the world's way.

"The Gods we are leaving behind on Datar should be able to handle the brunt of any shockwave that comes this way. We do not have to worry too much about that." Royegar said, his eyes closed in thought.

"You are right. We only need to make sure that nothing too strong is sent their way. They can handle the rest." Others also agreed with this.

Talks did not go on for long. Gods were decisive beings, True Gods even more so. In an hour, all plans had been hashed out. Everyone had their roles, and it was time to move on to the next phase.

All eyes turned to Leon.

"We need to make you possess the combat power of a True God." Garen stated the obvious. "There are multiple ways we can make that possible, but we will go with the simplest. In fact, your body has already been primed to be a vessel of power from day one."

"Indeed, the Paragon of Undeath did a wonderful job of preparing a new vessel that is free from all the flaws that currently plague him. We can use that to our advantage by pumping you full of power that has a much greater quality than what you can currently create yourself."

"You mean this?" Leon surprised the True Gods when he held up his hand a produced a small orb of energy. The energy was small in quantity, but the sheer, unadulterated power that was emanating from it was much more threatening that it looked on the surface.

"This… I shouldn't be surprised, but I am." Vesper was at a loss for words and simply settled on just shaking his head in disbelief.

"Well, it isn't as crazy as it looks. It is still difficult to produce large amounts of energy of this quality. I will still need all the help I can get." Leon chuckled and dispelled the orb of energy.

What he had just done was unthinkable. As a Major God, he had been able to produce Divine Energy that was a grade higher than what he should normally be able to handle. Energy that could only be produced by an actual bonafide True God!

"I can help with your energy problems." Royegar said and his eyes flashed with a golden light. A warm aura settled on Leon and he suddenly felt himself become much more vigorous. "You should be able to generate energy of a higher quality much faster with this buff.

It is pointless now, unless you have somewhere to store excess energy, but when the time comes, I shall cast this spell again to give you this buff."

Leon clenched and unclenched his hands as he examined the heightened state of his body. He felt invigorated in ways that he had never felt before. It was as if he was full of energy after a long sleep.

"This is a nice feeling." He commented.

"Of course, it is. Royegar's ability to buff allies is unrivaled among the True Gods I have come across." Nidus scoffed.

"Be nice, Nidus." Percival chuckled.

After a while longer, the True Gods all departed and returned to where they could comfortably exert their influence without worrying about causing problems within Leon's God Kingdom. Their manifestations vanished, leaving Leon alone. The Nexus Being also took its leave, leaving Leon to prepare for the upcoming battle.

Leon left the room and wandered through the castle for a while before coming across none other than Dyson. The golden haired God was a bit surprised at seeing Leon to suddenly.

"Leon! Didn't expect to see you here." Dyson made his way over, the pride that once filled his eyes being replaced by something similar to awe.

Yes, awe.

Leon was an Ace Candidate like himself and many others that had been nurtured to turn into the perfect fighters for the Gods of Datar. However, the way Leon had been able to grow into a monster among them was something that astounded everyone.

While the rest of them were still Minor Gods at best, and the majority still maintained their mortal coil, Leon had grown to become an incredibly powerful Major God who this entire conflict centered on at the moment.

"Hello, Dyson. It has indeed been a while. Have you recovered from your injuries? What about the others?" Leon smiled at Dyson as they continued walking.

Technically, Dyson was older than him by a long shot, if one were to consider either their past lives or current lives, but no one cared about age in the face of pure strength. Leon was simply stronger and therefore, commanded a lot of respect out of Dyson and the other Ace Candidates.

Even many Gods that had lived for thousands of years held a great deal of respect toward Leon by virtue of his strength.

Dyson's smile slipped a little bit at the mention of the other Ace Candidates.

"I am well. I have recovered without much delay, as have many others. However, we lost a lot of brave souls in the war." Dyson responded.

"It is to be expected that casualties will arise in a war like that. Their sacrifices were not in vain, I assure you that. However, they may still have a chance at life. All we need to do is overcome this final hurdle." Leon stopped at an open window and gazed into the distance. His gaze passed through the boundaries of the God Kingdom and extended far away, to the edges of Datar.
