The Black Necromancer

Chapter 527: Making An Appearance

"Your struggle is admirable, but it is pointless in the end! Accept your defeat!"

Faya, a Minor God of Flowers and Beauty, had her eyes open wide as the enemy delivered the final blow. She did not want to cower in fear as she died. She would rather stare down the weapon as it came down on her.

It was quite unfortunate for her. A God of her Domains was never meant for combat. While she had the power to deal with mortals quite easily, against other Gods whose Domains were more fit for combat, she would never be able to win and come out on top.

The forces of the defenders had been stretched quite thin. Already, her modest following that had stood up to fight alongside her had been dealt with. She was the last survivor here, and her God Kingdom was in shambles.

Just as the serrated sword of the enemy God was about to slice off her head, it came to a stop. Faya's eyes grew wide when she saw who had come to help her.

"L-Leon?!"

Of course, Faya knew who Leon was. Which ignorant fool did not know of Leon Cromwell? Even in the mortal realm, Leon's deeds and accomplishments had become widely known.

"Sorry, I'm late to the party." Leon smiled charmingly at her. He was currently in his human form, so his features that radiated utter perfection stood out to her.

Without waiting for Faya's response, Leon turned back to the enemy God who had pulled away from him after his appearance. The aura of a Major God that radiated all over his body was not hidden at all. Because of this, the other enemy Gods that had been hanging back all rushed forward.

"Newly advanced to Major God and you think you can throw your weight around, eh? Come, let this elder teach you a little lesson." One of the enemy Gods with a small stature and a massive hunched back grunted and grinned, revealing rows upon rows of pointed teeth.

Leon did not bother replying them verbally. His glare said enough. In the next moment, half a dozen Minor Gods sprung at Leon from different angles, each of them attacking through a different means from the other, making it difficult for Leon to block all attacks at once.

However, they had all underestimated Leon badly.

BOOM!

An invisible force spread out from Leon and all the attacks fell apart, turning into the most basic form of energy, which was drawn into Leon and then fed back out around him. When that energy came into contact with the enemies, a violent reaction occurred, their skin and flesh burning away in mere moments.

"ARGH! What is this?! HELP ME!!!"

The enemy God that had tried to behead Faya was oriented towards melee combat and had been the closest to Leon. As such, he had suffered the worst among all the others when exposed to the Rot Energy that Leon had expelled from his body.

He was completely trapped, and due to how concentrated and effective the energy was, his forearms had already turned into goop and was dripping down what was left of his body.

This level of lethality was absolutely crazy!

Faya stared at Leon in shock. She was right behind Leon, but she was not affected in the least by this energy. As a God whose Domain was partially centered around Nature and Life, she could feel how dense, heavy and concentrated the Rot Energy was. She knew that if she were to come into contact with this energy, then her chances of coming out alive would be almost nonexistent!

'How did this young soul become so powerful?' Faya could not help but think as Leon completely killed the enemy God that had tried killing her. He did all this without even moving from the spot he had been in when he first appeared.

This sight intimidated the enemy Gods and they were already reconsidering when a change occurred.

Bzzt!

A flash of light temporarily blinded everyone except for Leon. He was able to see a being made of bright white light appear between him and the other Gods. As soon as that being appeared, the Domain of Rot that he had created immediately began to have problems maintaining its strength like before.

"Leon Cromwell, you flashy moves have painted a very large target on your back." The man made of light said, his voice solemn and righteous, but Leon could feel the vile power that brewed within his Divine Spark.

"The Paragon of Undeath finally sent someone strong enough after me?" Leon smirked, not intimidated at all.

"Not just one." As the man of light said, two other Major Gods appeared around Leon. One was a woman, her hair soaking wet with what looked like slime, and her legs shaped like hooves and her back was hunched over. Low grunts rang out from her mouth as she stared at Leon through empty, hollow eye sockets.

'Decay?' Leon thought to himself.

The third was a man who had an unassuming air around him. He looked like any random person you could run into on the streets of a town. But Leon could feel the danger that lurked around him.

'The two of them plan to keep me busy while the unassuming one will hang back to deliver the killing blow? Good idea.' Leon analyzed the situation. But he did not lose confidence. He was much stronger than before, and he knew how strong he was. If he were to fight Pheher one on one again, then he would dominate that fight from beginning to end with no suspense.

"Come peacefully or we will make this battle a painful one for you, Cromwell." The man of light said to Leon, feeling confident in the odds of his side.

"Are you so confident? Do you think it will be that easy to fight me?" Leon asked, opening his arms wide. As he did so, strange energies that none of the three enemy Major Gods could understand began to converge around him.

"Plane Shift." Leon's voice rang out and everything went dark.
