The Assassin's Enemy Lover

Chapter 572 - 572 Ghostbuster

572 Ghostbuster

Zi Han couldn’t even get angry at this point. Ming Ming wasn’t aware of his fear and even if she did she didn’t know how severe it was. He could only cross his fingers and hope that tonight he would be able to sleep.

He couldn’t get angry but Yi Chen didn’t let her go so easily. “Do you know your saozi is afraid of ghosts? You terrified him so much that his face was so pale. Don’t you have anything to say to him?” he said and Ming Ming felt so guilty that she lowered her head and apologised.

“I am sorry Han-ge, I didn’t know,” she said her tone sincere.

Zi Han laughed nervously while ruffling her hair. “It’s fine. I need to face my fears anyway,” said Zi Han but inside his nerves were still tense. He even dreaded sleeping tonight.

“How about me? Aren’t you going to apologise to me too?” asked Yi Youxi and Yi Chen who recalled the spider incident very well glared at him.

“Uh uh fine. I deserved it. Now let’s go eat. This whole damn ghost scare made me very hungry,” he said and walked away with his hands in his pocket. It took him a lot of energy to admit that Ming Ming had actually outsmarted him.

“Show is over. Damn, I was actually hoping it was a real ghost. I would have loved to try my luck as a ghostbuster,” said Leo Lin while following behind Yi Youxi.

“Well, I was hoping it was an intruder. I would have loved to send him to another planet and watch him getting chased by the locals. Wouldn’t that be fun,” said Yeoh Jun after patting his son to comfort him.

Everyone left the wine cellar leaving behind Zi Han and Yi Chen standing there. Yi Chen glanced at the door to check of everyone was gone before pulling Zi Han into a hug. He knew more about Zi Han’s situation better than anyone else, even better than Zi Xingxi thus he was taking it seriously.

.....

He pulled Zi Han’s arm and embraced him tightly. Zi Han’s mental fortitude collapsed and he held on to Yi Chen tightly. His muscles that had been suppressed by him were unleashed and he began to quiver like a leaf.

Yi Chen didn’t say anything. He just gently stroked the back of Zi Han’s head with his arm wrapped around his lover’s waist holding him tight.

Zi Han pressed his palms hard against Yi Chen’s back his eyes closed. He had no idea where this fear stemmed from neither did he want to delve deep into it. He was just glad he didn’t have to sleep by himself at night.

“Do you want to take a walk around the wine cellar? You can also pick any wine you like,” said Yi Chen and Zi Han instantly understood his meaning. Yi Chen was inviting him to walk around the wine cellar to reassure himself. Once he sees that nothing is wrong he should relax and forget about the incident.

Zi Han nodded his head and the two of them walked hand in hand deep into the wine cellar.

They picked several bottles at random before leaving that place with their loot like robbers.

With hot pot ready everyone gathered by the dining table and ate happily while commending the men and girl who sacrificed their fingers for this meal.

The joyousness from this gathering was so infectious that others would have felt the urge to join them and become a part of the family.

Such a joyous thing would forever hold a special place in Zi Han’s memories. He turned to look at Yi Chen who had his arm stretched out scooping up some broth and enoki mushrooms with a porcelain spoon.

Feeling that gaze burrowing through Yi Chen’s skin he turned his head and asked, “What?”

Zi Han turned his face away and replied, “Nothing,” while shrugging his shoulders.

Yi Chen placed the broth in Zi Han’s bowl and kissed his cheek. Zi Han chuckled softly while dodging and rubbing his cheek which now had a smudge of oil from that kiss.

“Chen-ge, you are going to give me pimples. Keep your lips to yourself,” he said and Yi Chen tried to kiss him again while saying,

“Then let me kiss your lips. You won’t have a break out from it.”

Instead, Zi Han fed him fish tofu while saying, “Eat instead of focusing on me. You should eat as well.”

Yi Chen chewed slowly while watching him his mind veering in another direction. After swallowing down the delicious fish tofu he said, “How did I get so lucky?”

Zi Han, “...”

Did this look like a romantic candlelight dinner? Yi Chen shouldn’t have been saying such things in front of everybody, especially in front of his parents.

“You can ask me that later when we are alone now eat,” he said while feeding him a squid ball.

Yi Chen leaned forward and parted his lips before taking a bite of the squid ball his gaze locked with Zi Han’s. Zi Han felt an inexplicable warmth gushing out of his heart before spreading to his cheeks and ears. Why did Yi Chen have to make even eating so enticing arousing his thirst?

Yeoh Jun dropped his pair of chopsticks in shock after watching this pair sowing dog food all over the place with no restraint.

“Damn it,” he mumbled as he tried to reach the chopsticks but when his fingertips touched them they rolled away to his wife’s side.

Zi Xingxi pat his arm and said, “I will get it,” and she looked underneath the table. As her fingers touched the chopsticks she subconsciously raised her head slightly and found that Zi Han and Yi Chen were holding hands in secret.

Their fingers were interlocked and their thighs touching painting a romantic picture.

She smiled slightly while getting out from underneath the table. “Thank you, babe,” said Yeoh Jun while taking them from her before placing them in the open mouth of the cleaning robot since they couldn’t be used anymore.

Zi Xingxi didn’t say anything for a while as though lost in thought.

She suddenly said, “You know... I think I did pretty good.”

“Did pretty good with what?” asked Yeoh Jun who couldn’t catch up with her line of thought.
