Chapter 547: Slaying Kuang Niu

Chapter 547: Slaying Kuang Niu

Boom! Boom! Boom!

A human and a bull clashed furiously. The violent force of their battle caused the cave’s rocky walls to tremble and rocks to fall as if the entire structure was on the verge of collapsing.

"You scoundrel, I am the most esteemed young master of the Minotaur Clan! How dare you break my horn? I swear I will tear you limb from limb!"

Kuang Niu's eyes burned with fury as his body transformed into a towering bull, three zhang high. He charged wildly, his entire form brimming with overwhelming power. Each of his iron hooves struck the ground and created massive craters.

No one had ever angered him as much as Ling Feng did to the point of him losing all reason and willing to pay any price.

"I said that if you angered me again, it will be your head that falls on the floor instead!"

Ling Feng dodged Kuang Niu’s fierce charge with a nimble leap. The gust of wind from the bull’s charge stung his face.

"Scorching Sky Blaze!"

A cold glint flashed in Ling Feng’s eyes as he summoned the Earth Vein's True Fire within him, unleashing a lethal attack.

In his frenzied state, Kuang Niu completely lost his senses and charged straight at Ling Feng’s sword.

The beast’s brute strength seemed invincible, and he believed that mere sword qi could not harm him.

However, as soon as Ling Feng’s sword strike landed, the bull realized his miscalculation.

Crack!

He heard a crisp, sharp sound of breaking. His remaining horn shattered upon impact with the sword qi.

He then briefly saw his own body crashing heavily to the ground.

His world spun, gradually fading to black...

His head had been severed in that instant, rolling on the ground for several turns before coming to rest at Ling Feng’s feet where it was then crushed with a single stomp.

Boom!

The massive bull head exploded, blood splattering everywhere in a cruel spectacle.

The Minotaur Clan’s young master, who had repeatedly provoked Ling Feng, finally got the punishment he deserved.

"Better open your eyes in your next life!"

Ling Feng, stepping over pools of blood, swiftly moved to Hai Lingxiang’s side. The cave was about to collapse, so he broke the stone pillar behind her and picked her up in his arms. With Boundless Sword Steps, he quickly exited the cave.

Rumble!

The moment Ling Feng flew out of the cave, the entire cavern collapsed and buried Kuang Niu’s corpse beneath a sea of rubble.

Dust and debris filled the air, spreading across the surrounding area for miles.

Ling Feng carried Hai Lingxiang several dozen miles away before finally setting her down on top of a towering tree, taking a moment to stabilize.

"Princess Lingxiang, are you alright?" Ling Feng asked, carefully removing the vines from her body.

"I-I’m fine." Hai Lingxiang bit her lip, her eyes fixed on Ling Feng with mixed emotions.

"Glad to hear that," Ling Feng smiled lightly. "Now, let me take you back to the Lin Demon Clan."

"Lord Long Fei." Hai Lingxiang looked up and said through gritted teeth, "Why did you come to save me? Aren’t you... not interested in me?"

"Um..." Ling Feng scratched his nose, smiling as he shook his head. "Between men and women, does there have to be only that kind of relationship? We’re friends, aren’t we?"

"Friends?" Hai Lingxiang blinked, the concept seeming quite novel to her.

"Perhaps one day, when you’re in the human realm, you’ll understand what friendship means," Ling Feng shrugged and smiled. "Maybe not all humans are as vile and shameless as the demon race says."

Feeling Ling Feng’s gaze, Hai Lingxiang’s face flushed slightly. Biting her lip, she said, "Regardless, thank you."

"It’s my fault you were caught by the Kuang Niu," Ling Feng said, placing his hand on her wrist. After checking her condition and confirming there were no major injuries beyond a bit of shock, he felt reassured.

"Let’s go. Your maid, Yun Shu, must be anxiously waiting for you," Ling Feng said calmly.

"Oh..." Hai Lingxiang looked up at Ling Feng’s handsome face. Her heart fluttered with a feeling she had never experienced before—a sensation different from the respect she had for a powerful figure, but something entirely new.

Is this what mother referred to as feelings?

Hai Lingxiang was a bit dazed. Could it be that demons also experience emotions similar to humans?

"Wait a moment." Hai Lingxiang suddenly recalled something and relayed Kuang Niu's words from the cave to Ling Feng.

After a moment, Ling Feng, having listened to Hai Lingxiang, displayed a look of astonishment. "I never expected that old bull to be so ambitious!"

He was not a member of the demon race, and their internal conflicts had nothing to do with him. He could only say that the Qiongqi Demon Emperor had shown him some favor.

However, given his current strength, he probably couldn’t do much to help. If there was a chance, he would pass a message to the Qiongqi Demon Emperor, and that would be the best he could do.

"Lord Long Fei, now that you have killed Kuang Niu, the Minotaur Clan will surely seek revenge. I advise you to return to the northern demon domain quickly and not stay in Heavenly Demon City any longer," Hai Lingxiang said through gritted teeth. "The demon emperor’s token may not be of much use this time."

Although she was reluctant to see Ling Feng leave, she was even more unwilling to see him fall at the hands of the Minotaur Clan.

"I am aware of my own situation," Ling Feng smiled faintly. "Please keep what happened today a secret for me. If you can keep it hidden for a day, then that’s one day gained."

"Of course. I would never betray Lord Long Fei," Hai Lingxiang said with a shy expression.

Ling Feng sighed inwardly. Hai Lingxiang’s gaze toward him reminded him so much of Qin Wanwan’s, and thinking of Qin Wanwan’s sudden confession left him both amused and exasperated.

"Let’s go."

Ling Feng carried Hai Lingxiang down, and at that moment, a streak of purple light came from behind and quickly entered Ling Feng’s body.

That purple light was, of course, Zifeng. Ling Feng had stopped partly to wait for him.

Zifeng had just consumed the life essence of several demon lord-level bull warriors in one go, marking the first time since joining Ling Feng that he had had a full meal.

Soon, Ling Feng met up with Hai Lingxiang and Yun Shu. To avoid being spotted by the Minotaur Clan, Ling Feng and Hai Lingxiang parted ways midway. He returned directly to the Three-Headed Demonic Jiao clan.

This was also to avoid Hai Lingxiang’s entanglements. If he arrived at the Lin Demon Clan’s territory surrounded by a group of Lin Demon beauties, he wasn’t sure if he could maintain his composure.

After all, he was still a young man full of energy!

"Phew..."

After seeing off Hai Lingxiang and her maid, Ling Feng sighed in relief. The death of Kuang Niu could not be hidden for long.

Given the Minotaur Clan’s capabilities, they would likely find out that he was the one who killed Kuang Niu.

At that point, Ling Feng couldn’t be sure if the demon emperor’s token would still be effective against the enraged old bull.

For now, it was best to lay low with the Three-Headed Demonic Jiao Clan. At least, the mysterious ancestor of the Three-Headed Demonic Jiao Clan seemed unlikely to ignore his safety.

A demon ruler like that could easily handle a bull like Niu Bi.
