Chapter 26 - Control Of The Body
Michael looked aghast at Lucas. He stepped back even further, and fell flat on his back. He stammered. "Lucas! What is wrong with you? This has never happened before.".
Lucas smiled sinisterly. "What did I say? Call me Fenrir."
He disappeared for a moment, and Michael quickly got up. His body started transforming, and his arms were filled with fur. He raised his hand up in defence. But, it seemed that he had calculated wrong. Lucas did not attack him where Michael was expecting him to.
.
Splurt! Michael coughed out blood as he fell forward. He looked back to see Lucas standing behind him, looking at him in a very weird way. "Interesting. Why is such a weak werewolf a part of the council? I thought that council members were more powerful than this.", he said in that same coarse voice.
But, all of a sudden, Lucas looked back and took a defensive position.
"Ah! Fenrir. After I took a defensive position for you, and stood up for you, here you are betraying my trust.", Praneeth's voice rang out. His voice was still very calm, but his third eye was fully open, and it looked furious.
"Lucas.", Praneeth called out. The sound reverberated in the air itself, and by the time the sound reached Lucas' ears, it was deafening. Lucas started shaking his head, and slapped himself multiple times. Then, he looked down for a moment. Raising his head, Praneeth could see that Lucas' eyes were normal now.
"You have some explaining to do Lucas. A lot of it, infact. How about you start with how you let go of the control you had.", Praneeth said, as he gestured Lucas to come in. Lucas nodded, and he looked back at Michael. He said softly, "Sorry. I'll repay you later.".
Michael grinned painfully. "I can take a little punch. Do you really think I was called the unkillable shield for nothing?"
Lucas smiled a little, but his brow was still knit. He looked at Praneeth, who was waiting for him by the door. "Let us talk somewhere in private. I do not feel comfortable in a place with people who want to do nothing but kill me."
"That is where you are wrong, Lucas. We do not want to kill you. We just want to kill the demon inside of you. You may have forgotten the good old days, but we have not. The council may be harsh, but it still remembers the days when Lucas was Lucas, and not the host of Fenrir.", Praneeth said. "Where do you want to go? I hear that thai is good here."
"Fine, whatever.", Lucas waved his hand.
"Take my car.", Michael's face was still writhing with pain, but he still moved slowly and took out keys from his pocket. "Treat her well. I am going to bill you for every sight dent or scratch."
"Oh please. This is not the first time I drove a 250 GT. Don't be so smug. I had one too.", Lucas said as he caught the keys that Michael threw over. "Where is it?"
Michael pointed to a general direction and said, "You'll see it. It is the centre of attraction, wherever it is."
Lucas nodded and looked at Praneeth. "You want to go down the stairs or the proper route?"
"I'll meet you there, not to worry.", Praneeth assured.
Lucas laughed as he ran and jumped off the roof. Praneeth shook his head and sighed, "Reckless idiot.". Then he looked at Michael and said, "Careful. Use some paradoxes to cleans your wound. An attack from Fenrir is no joke. Even a werewolf will take time to heal, and time is a scarce resource we do not have.", Saying this, Praneeth went down the stairs. Michael could hear Praneeth's footsteps till Praneeth was no longer visible. Then, the sound disappeared.
Michael shook his head. "I still don't know how the hell he does that."
He coughed a little more blood and got up. He started limping to the stairs, and dragged his body down to somewhere he could rest.
