The Abandoned Hunter

Chapter 198: History Of Overlords - Part 1

Chapter 198: History Of Overlords - Part 1

The man showed all the places of the Netherworld. In fact, it was as a large version as if it depicted continents.

It was quite similar to the world map and obviously one couldn't pinpoint the location exactly while using that.

However, the map seemed a bit different at the same time.

You could actually zoom in and see the places, that was quite dope because it seemed like a feature that was only found in smartphones and maps.

Whatever that may be, right now Jay was focused on finding the place where the Generals were present.

"Your highness..."

"I have a question to ask...", said the demon while zooming in on the map.

"What is it?", Jay was nervous at the moment.

He couldn't act all cowardly because if he did then the demon would end up attacking him.

Jay was completely sure that he would lose if he were to fight against him and that was why he tried to be dominant.

In any case, right now the demon wanted to ask something, and Jay would pretend to know the answer even if he didn't know in reality.

"Why are you in a human form?", was what the demon asked.

"..."

Now, this was something Jay couldn't answer. In fact, it was the first time he was asked something like this.

He had no idea what to tell. All he did was try and think of something convincing because he wanted to avoid battling the demon.

"Why don't you assume your true form?"

"That way won't everyone come to know about you and surrender to you almost immediately?"

"..."

"Even those general bastards won't spit a word because they would know about you...", was what the demon said.

That was something true. So who was the Dark Overlord exactly and what was his relationship with the Nether world and the demons?

Why was the person in his death bed call Jay 'Your Highness? What was going on?

There were tons of questions however Jay didn't know if this was the right time to think about them.

In any case, the demon in front of him seemed to know about it. That was why Jay thought that it would be best to ask him however if he were to ask those questions, it would be revealed that he was just pretending.

"Hmm..."

"You know what..."

"I trust you...", was what Jay said.

The moment he said that the demon was filled with happiness. It was as if his chest would burst because of proudness.

"Master..,", indeed, hearing that from someone you respect would be something unimaginable.

Right now he was having the said moment. In any case, he wanted to know why Jay said that so suddenly and just as he was going to ask, Jay started to work his plan into action about knowing the Dark Overlord.

"Can Tell me how I was in the past?", Jay asked.

Now, this was something that surprised the demon.

He wasn't expecting a question and the thing that was asked was way too weird for him.

"Past?"

'Why is his highness asking me that?', someone who has lived the life would know it well.

This puzzled him due to which he started to find the reason for that when suddenly he said something that probably answered all of his questions.

"You know, I have lost most of my memories...", was what he said.

"Huh?", this came as a surprise and now everything made sense.

He now understood the reason because of which Jay had been acting strange.

He understood the reason for asking the question too and this probably answered him about the human form too at the same time.

"Master, have you forgotten about yourself?", the demon questioned again to see if what he heard was true or not.

Without any hesitation, Jay shook his head.

"Ya, I don't recall anything...", was what Jay said.

'Is that why he is in a human body?'

'Does that mean he is trapped?'

'Maybe that is why he doesn't have much of a power and doesn't know how to use them...'

He concluded by thinking all that. But he didn't show that he was thinking anything.

'If I can defeat him, doesn't that mean I would end up becoming famous?', was what he asked.

Yes, if the Dark Overlord were to be killed by someone, then that person would get famous for sure.

But one had to think at least a hundred times before upsetting the master of darkness!

The demon did the same too, he too thought about it for a minute.

*gulp*

'Wasn't it rumored that the Dark Overlord couldn't be killed?'

It was a fact, the Dark Overlord couldn't be killed.

How was this fact know?

The Dark overlord's subordinates spread it.

Even his enemies did that because after facing him they knew one thing - Dark Overlord was immortal.

Even if he were to enter a death-like state, it would only be momentarily.

He couldn't be harmed at all and that was the sole reason why he was called the Master Of Death.

Even the Death Overlord had to bow in front of him.

So what were all these Overlord things? Well, the demon was about to explain all that confusing things.

'Maybe he is just acting..,', the demon concluded.

'Until I'm completely sure, I should just do as he says...'

Whatever he decided ended up in Jay's favor which was a good thing.

"Master, you were...", he then started to tell about the past.

So why was Jay asking him to begin with?

He could have asked anyone else but why him and why now?

The answer was simple, another notification popped up displaying another mission while the current was still ongoing!

'Ding'

[ Mission MOD - Knowing About Oneself ]

[ -> Gain the knowledge about the Dark Overlord from the Demon Alon ]

[ -> Ask the demon Alon in front of you to tell about the Overlords ]

[ Time Limit: None ]

[ Rewards: None ]

It was mainly because of this mission that he ended up asking the demon.

Otherwise, he could have just shut his mouth and had completed one thing first.

Yes, there were no rewards nor were there any penalties. The time limit was also not mentioned.

It was as if the mission was generated purely because of his curiosity.

Well, he wanted to know so he didn't ignore the mission and asked.

The demon Alon started to explain.

Long ago, there lived a being who was looked down on by everyone.

He was weak, so weak that even the goblins could kill him.

Then why wasn't he dead? A place where War was a daily day concept, dropping dead was way too easy.

Then why was the being not dead?

The answer was simple, he couldn't die. Even when he tried to die, he just couldn't!

The reason was related to the curse which he was given by his own mother!

"I curse you!"

"You will pay for your deeds!"

"You will rot in this world as long as there is the darkness!"

"You will eventually become the darkness!"

This was the curse that his mother had given him.

So why was he cursed in the first place? What did he do to get cursed?

These were some interesting questions whose answers could be gained by moving to the past a bit more!

Long ago, when there was no place called Earth, there was a realm called Heaven.

It was just a single place, there was no place called Earth or Hell. Nothing of such sort was created because everyone had equal rights and was happy.

They never felt to divide their land.

Heaven was ruled by a King called - Julius Akron Yavioy.

He was also referred to as God, this was because he had the power that could create and destroy things at the same time.

He never showed his power, but one day he suddenly got drunk because of a liquid which a lady had prepared.

He ended up destroying half of heaven just because of that!

Because of this many feared him and this was why the partition of Heaven was done, just because the demons hated Julius.

Heaven was then divided and Hell was created.

Julius wanted to fix what he had done and wanted to repair the damage which he had caused, but the demons revolted and wanted a separate place.

The other part of Heaven was supposed to be like the first part, unfortunately, Julius didn't repair it on the advice of the lady!

Since the place was destroyed and most of the parts were covered with undying flames, it became the hell that was later pictured by humans.
