Ten Years of Yearning. My Love, Let Me Protect You.

Chapter 17 - 17 Embarrassed.

After sorting out his emotions, he went inside the room. By then, the doctor finished bandaging her. Her complexion looked exhausted; her eyes looked red. Her hairs were messy and some small bangs would come to the front from time to time. She tucked them beside her ear but they would come to the front in the next second.

He looked at the scene and had the urge to help her to tie her hair but didn't do so.

"Don't move your hands." he told her when he noticed she was going to use her right hand.

"You, help her.  Brush her hair and bind it with something." He told the nurse, most likely ordering her.

"I'll do it. Please wait for a second." She went outside to bring a comb and some hair bands.

Luo Lixi turned to him but he was looking at the window.

"Mr. Sheng, my task is finished. Also, can I go to the hospital now that miss has woken up?"

The doctor came up to him and asked in a  low voice. Expectation was seen visible on his face. He really wanted to go back.

"Hmm." He didn't even look at him when he replied.

"Thanks. I'll take my leave then." He bowed to him and happily went to his room; packed the nearly packed bag of his and took his leave. He didn't know that a very ferocious and angry Mr. Xiao was waiting for his arrival in the Ailin Hospital.

... ...

Now that Luo Lixi was thoroughly awake, she felt very uncomfortable with her body. She was feeling itchy in her skin and her mouth felt terrible; especially the gums. She needed to brush her teeth then and there as it felt very uneasy. She always liked to be proper and clean.

Due to laying in bed for nearly two months, she felt there was an extra layer of dirt on her skin. Now Luo Lixi had the urge to run to the bathroom and stand below the shower to clean herself.

But then, she lifted her right hand and looked at it pitifully. 'My poor hand... it'll be difficult to even do my daily necessary tasks from now on.' She had to depend on someone to help her now. She turned at Sheng Ruming and then at the nurse who was busy combing her hair by her side.

"Aunty, can you give me your phone for a second?" she asked her gently. She wanted to call someone.

"NO!" even before the nurse could say something they heard a growl.

Both of them looked at Sheng Ruming in surprise.

When he noticed their gazes on him, he realised he had overreacted. He came up with an excuse, "Cough!...You just woke up. It's not good for you to use a phone now. The mobile phone has radiation. It is bad for your mental health."

"What are you saying? I'll just make a phone call. It's not like I will play with it the whole day." Luo Lixi shot him a look that says ' I know what I'm doing'.

Luo Lixi found his excuse very lame. She wanted to call her friend to know the situation of her family.

"No, absolutely not. You have just woken up today. Your mind is not stable. The doctor strictly warned us not to let you use any devices that can cause you to go in a coma again, especially the phones." He spoke in a straight poker face that it was difficult to even doubt him.

"When did they say? I didn't know something like using a smartphone can cause me to go into a coma?"

She looked at the woman standing beside her and asked in confusion, "Aunty, is it true?"

The nurse slightly looked at Sheng Ruming. He warned her by his eyes. But when Luo Lixi looked at him, his eyes were blank; like devoid of earthly emotions. The nurse understood the meaning of his gaze earlier and knew what to say or not..

"Yes." she lied.

Luo Lixi looked at them and knew they were lying. But she didn't expose them. It was clear as day that they didn't want her to contact anyone outside. 'Well, I'll have my way later somehow.' she thought confidently. Alas, she didn't know her thought was useless.

"I'm perfectly fine now..." Luo Lixi didn't get the chance to finish when Sheng Ruming pointed to her. She followed his direction and saw it was her bandaged hand.

"Well, it is nothing but just an accident." she pouted slightly. After that, nobody spoke as the room quieted down.

The nurse brushed her hair slowly. It was silky and straight but slightly curly at the end. Her slightly brownish hair felt very good to touch. The nurse made a ponytail that reached her waist.

There was a thin layer of sweat on Luo Lixi's face.

Some baby bangs stuck to her forehead. She looked tidier and composed now. It was such a calm atmosphere when...

"Gu..guru..." Her empty stomach made a loud growl. As she didn't eat anything for a long time, her stomach began to protest in hunger.

Luo Lixi instantly stiffened as she was embarrassed. She was slightly hungry but endured it down as she felt shy to tell anyone. Also, it was not much time since she had woken up.

"Sorry, I was thoughtless. You must be hungry. I'll call the kitchen to make some light soup for you.Just endure it for a bit." The nurse told her and took out her phone from her pocket to make a call.

Luo Lixi looked at it in a rather intense gaze.

Sheng Ruming thought If he wasn't present here then she would've already taken it from the nurse. 'She can't wait anymore, huh!'

"Stop. Don't use it here. Go downstairs and instruct the chef personally to make the soup. It's not necessary to use the phone for every work. Also, tell everyone not to use their phone before her or their salaries will be deducted." he told the nurse. She nodded and went out hurriedly to the first floor.

Luo Lixi shot him a remorseful look but he totally ignored it.

Now, they were the only ones remaining in the room. She raised her head and peeked at him. Though he looked expressionless, his slightly upward eyes betrayed his emotions as he was trying hard to contain his laughter.

'How embarrassing!' She held a pillow to hide her face. As it was super soft it didn't put any pressure on her hand.

When the man saw it, his face became gentle. 'How cute!' he thought. But he didn't like it when she hid from him
