Tales Of The Mighty Dragonair

Chapter 5 - Special Powers Of Mages

Arthur watched Regil as he began to collect more than one different kind of arrows from the tables. The arrows were long, sharp, and with some special intricate swirly writing on their shafts. Authur

knew these arrows weren't as powerful as the original arrows that are meant for the bow, but they had some strength in them.

Having such advanced craftsmanship in the Golden Lion clan land will be incredible when Arthur fully utilises the opportunity that it brings for the clan.

With each passing second that Arthur spent in the shop, it highlighted to him that he was correct in deciding that it would be the key to revolutionising the clan's reputation.

Suddenly, the door banged open with an energetic girl bouncing into the room. She yelled, "Grandpa, what are you doing?" The girl rolled her eyes after scanning the room and seeing Arthur in the room.  Arthur felt his blood freeze as the girl kept sending deathly glares at him and her face crinkled in disgust.

"What is this bastard doing in my shop grandpa?" She continued as the girl grasped the sword that was lying on the table. Arthur started to feel intrigued as he didn't understand what Willy could have done to have pissed her off so severely.

Regil bowed quickly as he embarrassedly apologised for his granddaughter, "I'm very sorry, my granddaughter is young and she doesn't recognize you, please forgive her."

"Why are you apologizing to him? I know who he is, he is from that useless family. He is the one who got poisoned and was supposed to be  struggling fighting death back at his sweet daddy's home."

Abruptly, she then leapt to the side to bypass Regil's body as she pointed her sword towards Arthur while shouting with extreme anger: "Those useless bastards didn't do the job of killing you, then allow me, your majesty, to end your misery and claim you're pathetic life."

Arthur admired her greatly, her sword at his throat, she was like a fiery tigress, moving with great speed and power.

The move told a lot about her experience with sword fighting, however, Arthur knew that he could easily avoid the shot with complete ease. Before Arthur could move away from the sword he saw a glimpse of silver, fast as lightning, then heard a crash.

Ron had his sword pivoting the other sword away from Arthurs's neck and he then used his bulging muscles to his advantage by surprisingly nudging her a few steps back. The girl looked at Ron with pure hatred as her cheeks turned bright red with anger.

Not wanting them to have all the fun as they began to spar with their swords, Arthur picked up the bow and placed the two arrows into the bow.

Arthur could feel the plastic graze his checks as aimed for the wall in the shop, his arms burning from the unusual movement.

A thunk echoed in the room as Ron and the girl looked at Arthur in shock, their eyes widened in disbelief.  Regil, who was standing near Arthur, turned pale as he couldn't believe what the young master who was known as being worthless just shot the bow with perfect accuracy.

Regil moved to stand in front of Arthur while yelling angrily, "behave yourself girl as it would be well within his right to have your head removed."

"Go away grandpa, why are you protecting him?" She stopped moving towards Arthur as she hesitated to start attacking Arthur. again. What she didn't realise was that when she moved towards Arthur Ron was going to hit her on the head with the blunt end of his sword.

"Stop Ron, she is just behaving like a brat. Friend, there is no need to escalate the problem," Arthur said calmly to stop Ron from hitting the lively girl that Arthur was starting to Admire.

"What?!!" Ron exclaimed in surprise as he nearly stumbled on the ground as he tripped over his feet.

"What did you just call me?" The girl said angrily as she raised her sword.

"I said stop Madly,  don't you have any respect for this man!" Regil yelled as he moved to hug his granddaughter while whispering,"Don't be reckless, he is  dangerous."

Madly looked  at her grandfather in disbelief while she muttered, "

unbelievable, the only dangerous one here is me. Just let me go and I will show you," Regil didn't let her go as he tightened his hold on her.

"You fool, I'm saving your life here," he muttered to her while keeping eye contact as he wanted to empathise with the seriousness of the situation.

Madly gritted her teeth together as she whispered, "you know I love you grandpa, but this man's family has murdered my family, your son and his wife! Just let me avenge them right here and now. Why are you defending him? Are you so afraid of his father's retaliation? Let's run from here then and never come back!"

Regil felt some deep pain that he tried to bury a long time ago with failure as sometimes he would stay in the shop building weaponry that he hoped that he could plunge into the clan leader's family. He prayed that they would feel the pain that he felt.

Regil felt tears dripping down his face and he whispered breathlessly, "you silly girl! I'm not protecting him but you.

This man isn't like what others think, you didn't see how he moved from there to here. If he wanted you dead, then not even I could prevent him. Just listen to me and be quiet.

Hopefully, he is in a good mood to send him home with some money or goods from our shop."

Madly's eyes widened from surprise as she couldn't believe her grandpa's words, as she muttered, "grandpa…" Regil tightened his hand again as he glanced towards his granddaughter with a meaningful look.

Arthur could perfectly hear their conversation as his senses were sharper than any normal being. He, however, was concerned by something else, so he decided to not waste time here playing this foolish role of this useless heir.

"Let's speak seriously then, shall we? I am getting bored of the drama," Arthur said as he moved to sit on the biggest seat in this shop, which belonged to grandpa Regil.

He didn't feel odd for sitting on the biggest seat here, however, Madly was getting angrier as she saw him take control of the room."I believe you should listen to your grandpa, as his advice is perfectly on the spot."

His words startled Madly as she exchanged dumbfounded looks with her grandpa. Their voices were low when they talked so she was confused about how the worthless man had heard them.

"Don't look at me like that, I have more pressing matters to discuss with you." Arthur's invitation to the three of them was weird, as Madly felt weird for being invited by a stranger in her own home.

As for Regil, he was feeling wary of Arthur, as he always heard how useless the current heir of the clan was, however, this wasn't true, this wasn't even close to being true.

The most shocked person here was Ron. Since he met Arthur after waking up from the poisoning accident, he felt he was dealing with a new person. Every decision Arthur took was very contradictory to what Willy used to do before.

Even with his nature of talking, Willy was usually shy and never dared to speak to strangers, not like the person in front of Ron right now.

Although he was feeling odd about Willy's change of attitude, he was happy with these changes and Ron hoped these changes would persist forever.

Having such a charismatic person as head of the clan was awesome, who knew what this new change might bring to the whole clan.

Ron was thinking about all that when Arthur looked directly towards grandpa Regil as he seriously asked, "I want to ask about the special powers of mages. Did they have colours?"

His question piques the interest of the three as grandpa Regil asked back, "colours? What colours?"
