Chapter 6 Talent Swallowing System
‘Swoosh’
The colossal corpse of the rank 6 mutated beast disappeared right in front of Julia’s eyes, making her quite shocked.
‘Does he have a dimensional storage talent?’
Julia wondered whether Leo had another talent along with the talents ‘Teleportation’ and ‘Combustion’.
Even though space-related talents were not powerful, they were rare and valuable. Julia was already surprised to learn that Leo had two talents and now she was shocked by the possibility of having a third talent.
‘Storage ring?’
Just as Julia thought that Leo might have another talent, she noticed a dull black coloured ring around one of Leo’s fingers.
With the appearance of the monsters and beasts, more and more unique and rare things started appearing in the world. Humans started creating things that they had never imagined before using their awakened talents.
Among those things, Storage rings, the rings with a hidden space inside them, were one of them.
‘But the space inside that storage ring…isn’t it a little too much?’
The reason why Julia mistaken Leo had another talent was because of the space. Generally, storage rings were scarce even for advanced heroes, and even those storage rings had very less space inside them.-.
However, Leo’s storage ring clearly has a space of at least a two-storied building.
“Let’s go.”
“Yes, sir.”
After storing the beast’s corpse in his storage ring, Leo started walking out of the serpent caverns with Julia silently following behind him.
“Sir, my name is Julia. Can I know your name?”
Walking behind Leo, Julia finally realized that she still didn’t introduce herself. So, she introduced herself and asked for Leo’s name.
“Leo”
Leo replied in a single word, and as though he thought of something, he replied, “Stop calling me, Sir. You can just call me….”
“Brother Leo.”
Before Leo could finish his words, Julia addressed him as ‘Brother Leo’.
‘…’
Leo was not asking her to call him ‘Brother Leo’; however, when he heard those two words, he felt warm as he always wanted to hear that.
“Is it okay to call you, Brother Leo?”
Even though Leo always had a stern look on his face, Julia felt close to Leo for some reason. Nevertheless, she was still feeling slightly anxious when she called him ‘Brother Leo’.
So, she hurriedly asked whether it was okay with Leo.
“Suit yourself.”
Leo was happy in his heart; however, only a stern look was on his face.
“Excellent.”
Julia became happy and silently thought, ‘Looks like he is not as cold as he looks.’
Generally, all advanced heroes she encountered until now looked down on everyone who didn’t become advanced heroes.
However, in the case of Leo, he didn’t look down on her at all, making her feel Leo was a warm-hearted hero.
‘Let’s check her talent.’
As they were walking back to Phirie city, Leo silently thought in his head.
‘Ding,
Hero assessment.
Name:- Julia.
Age:- 20.
Talent:- Wave of healing (Level 4).
Wave of healing:- with the help of this talent, the hero, can release a breeze that can heal the hero and the surrounding heroes.
Note:- Limited to a 40-meter radius around the hero.
Hero rank:- Rank 4 (Low-level Elite hero).
Potential:- 2.9 percent / 100 percent.
Suddenly, a holographic screen appeared in front of Leo with Julia’s information on it.
During the last ten years of his life, Leo had his fair share of trials and tribulations and a few fortuitous encounters.
Among those encounters, Leo gained the ‘Talent swallowing system’.
As its name suggested, it would help Leo devour others’ talents as long as he met some conditions; however, there is a long cool-down period of one year before he could devour another talent.
Nevertheless, Leo was already satisfied that he would gain a new talent every year.
Also, other than swallowing the talents of others yearly, there is another function in the system that helps Leo to assess the information of others.
So, Leo used the ‘Hero assessment’ function of the ‘Talent swallowing system’ to check the information about Julia’s talent.
‘Wave of healing? A rare talent among humans but she was abandoned by her team.’
Leo could not control his anger when he thought about Zac, who acted like he wanted to save Julia.
Even though healing-type heroes didn’t have much attack power, they were greatly valued and respected in human society as they could cure diseases and heal injuries easily.
Of course, a rank 4 hero like Julia was not much in the eyes of mighty heroes; however, it would be a different story if she became a rank 7 hero and joined the ranks of advanced heroes.
‘2.9 percent of potential? Looks like she became a rank 4 hero very recently.’
Controlling his anger, Leo looked at the following important indicator in the hero assessment, and it was ‘Potential’.
As long as the potential reaches 100 percent, the hero’s talent would be upgraded to the next level, and the hero would ascend to the next rank.
Since Julia’s talent potential is only 2.9 percent, Leo could tell she ascended to rank 4 very recently.
‘As long as she is groomed properly, she will have no problems in becoming an advanced hero but the moment she became an elite hero, they wanted to kill her.’
For humanity, having high-ranked healing heroes would help a lot in their fight with the monsters and the beasts.
‘That bastard Zac belongs to the Ambermane family, right? Good…good.’
Leo was thinking of a reason to mess with the Ambermane family, and now, he finally got a perfect reason.
