Chapter 17 Enchanted Mission Paper
“Julia, stay here. I will clear this cave in a minute and come back.”
Leo asked Julia to stay at the cave entrance as he entered the first iron ore cave.
“Yes, Brother Leo.”
Julia knew that Leo had a second talent other than ‘Teleportation’. With the help of his second talent, it would be a piece of cake for him to kill all the Iron trolls in the cave just in a single attack.
She also knows that it would be troublesome for Leo to take care of her if she enters the cave.
So, she didn’t mind staying at the cave entrance while Leo cleared the cave.
…
‘Tap…tap’
Leo entered the cave with a calm look on his face.
The insides of the cave were completely dark; however, Leo turned on the torch, which instantly brightened the cave.
‘Kur Kur’
‘Kur kur’-.
As soon as the torchlight brightened the cave, chattering noises came from all cave corners as though they were angry with the invader.
Iron trolls, a humanoid monster that likes to eat iron ores, and the humans who enter the caves to mine the iron ore.
However, they had another hobby: laying traps in the wilderness to hunt heroes.
‘The insides of this cave are much smaller than I thought.’
It was not Leo’s first time entering an Iron ore cave; however, the ones he had entered previously were much bigger than the current one.
‘Looks like there is no need to waste my time in this cave.’
As though he was disappointed with the size of the Iron ore cave, Leo didn’t waste any time before muttering, ‘Combustion.’
‘Swoosh’
In the next second, fiery red flames came out of Leo’s body and burned all the Iron trolls inside the cave.
Even the ones hiding underground were no exception, as the heat from those flames was enough to fry them.
“Julia, you can come inside now.”
After clearing all the iron trolls in the cave with a single use of his talent, Leo asked Julia to come inside.
“Brother, it didn’t even take a single minute for you to clear this cave.”
Julia was excited to see that there was not a single Iron troll left in the cave as she informed Leo about the time taken to clear the Iron ore cave.
“This cave didn’t even have a single rank 5 Iron troll. It’s just overkill.”
Leo shook his head and asked Julia, “Place the mission paper on the ground.”
“Brother Leo, I know you are an advanced hero; however, it is still better to hide it. A rank 7 hero will become an easy target for the powerful families to bully you.”
Julia knew how powerful families view the heroes without a family name. Moreover, if they knew about Leo, they would either try to recruit him to do their evil deeds or kill him if he didn’t agree to become their dog.
When she learned Leo wanted to hide his hero rank, she thought Leo didn’t want to become a servant of the powerful family.
So, she asked him to endure it even though it was tough to do.
‘Looks like this girl misunderstood my reason to hide my hero rank.’
Leo shook his head, but he didn’t try to clear the misunderstanding because he could not say that he was planning to take revenge on those powerful families.
‘Anyway, it is a good thing that she always comes with an answer for herself.’
This made Leo have an easy time getting along with Julia; otherwise, he should rack his brain to find a perfect answer every time.
‘Swoosh’
As she encouraged Leo to hide his hero rank, Julia placed the mission paper on the ground, and as soon as she did, the paper glowed with a bright light for a moment before disappearing.
‘Number of Iron ore caves cleared:- 1.’
In the next second, a new line appeared on the mission paper.
The mission paper they picked from the mission board of the mission hall was not ordinary; instead, it was an enchanted paper that could help in proving that someone had completed the mission written on it.
“Let’s go.”
For this mission, there was no limit to the number of the Iron ore caves cleared, and for every Iron ore cave they cleared, they would receive 100 Hero coins.
So, they didn’t waste any time and went to the next Iron ore cave.
“Yes, brother.”
Julia was excited because they got 100 Hero coins just like that. So, she hurriedly rushed behind Leo.
“Julia, use your talent on me.”
Along their way to the second Iron ore cave, Leo asked Julia to use her talent on him.
“Did you forget, you need to use your talent more and more to increase its level.”
Before Julia could finish her words, Leo continued saying, “Even though I am not injured, just practice your talent on me to increase your potential.”
“But, my talent will not gain any experience if my target is not injured.”
Julia shook her head because she had already tried that.
Even when she practices her talent in her room, she will make a slight cut on her palms before healing it.
However, the experience she gained healing minor cuts was pitifully less than the healing of the seriously injured heroes.
“It will work on me even if I am not injured.”
Leo said he was different with a slight smile on his face, and her talent would work on him even without any injuries.
“Huh?”
Julia, of course, didn’t believe his words and looked at him to see whether he was playing with her head.
“Why don’t you use your talent on me first and check for yourself?”
Leo asked Julia to check for herself whether it would increase her talent’s experience.
“Okay.”
Seeing that Leo was serious in his words, Julia decided to give it a try as it would not harm her in giving it a try anyway.
‘Wave of recovery’
Julia closed her eyes, and soon, green coloured energy mist came out of her body and entered Leo’s body.
“See? It didn’t incre….”
Halfway through her words, Julia stopped in her words as she looked at Leo with a shocked look in her eyes.
