Chapter 83 Revenge and Revelations
Chapter 83 Revenge and Revelations
The drizzling rain didn't deter Ye Chen's determination to claim what was rightfully his. At this moment, he heard the sounds of a battle, clashing and banging coming from the Qi Pond's location.
He slowed his steps and peered from the darkness of the forest. Ten individuals were engaged in combat, appearing to be evenly divided between two factions.
Ye Chen observed them more closely and deduced from their attire that they hailed from various sects.
His gaze focused on the remnants of the Qi pool, its water drained. He gritted his teeth. It seemed he was too late, and they had completely depleted the qi water.
Although there was no apparent benefit here, he continued to scrutinize it closely.
At this moment, two combatants were engaged in such an intense duel that they moved deeper into the forest, leaving the area around the Qi Pond. One of them was wearing a black robe, while the other was a young man in his twenties.
Ye Chen hurriedly followed them, his gaze focused on one of the combatants, the man in his twenties who wielded a sword. He vividly remembered that this was the same sword that had pierced his heart.
"I have to get closer. That man, I must seek revenge!" he muttered to himself.
With that, he ascended to a tree branch, keeping a watchful eye on the battle unfolding below.
Clank!
Clank!
Clank!
Clank!
The sound of sword clashes reverberated through the silent forest, intensified by the pattering rain.
Slash!
The young man swung his sword forward, creating a blue-hued slashing effect.
The man in the robe became serious and swiftly evaded. Witnessing the slashing effect, which effortlessly cleaved three large trees, he knew that the young man had activated his Heartblade, something not everyone could achieve.
However, he also had something to reveal. He gripped his sword tightly, and a red aura began to emanate from it. In the next moment, the sword grew longer, sprouting six sharp blade branches on its surface.
The young man narrowed his eyes, "A Martial Spirit of the weapon type? Hmph, how elementary!" he retorted and darted forward.
His sword, now empowered by the Heartblade, was ready to clash with the martial spirit of the man in the robe.
Clank!
Clank!
Clank!
The sound of sword clashes grew louder and more intense once again. Ye Chen continued moving from branch to branch, his expression serious, as he had never expected to witness such a battle.
The cultivation realm they were in was undoubtedly at the Qi Foundation or even Flowing Qi stage.
At this moment, both the man in the robe and the young man were thrown back, each sporting slashing wounds on their bodies.
With determination in their eyes, they both assumed a stance with their swords.
Both possessed unique abilities; one had the Heartblade, while the other wielded a weapon-type martial spirit.
From the auras they emitted, it was clear they intended to end this battle.
The atmosphere grew increasingly intense despite the cold rain. With a powerful lunge, they charged at each other.
Slash!
The sound of swords slicing through the air echoed through the forest. The man in the robe fell to the ground, his body split into two, while the young man knelt with his right hand severed. His sword dropped to the ground, blood pouring from his arm.
He retrieved his sword with his left hand, rising slowly. However, his expression turned serious when he heard footsteps approaching from behind.
He turned and saw a teenager of his age. Upon seeing the teenager's face, his expression shifted from disbelief to shock.
"Do you remember me?" Ye Chen grinned.
"It can't be! I remember stabbing you in the heart and burying you; how can you still be alive?" The man said in disbelief.
Ye Chen sneered, took the man in the robe's sword, and walked closer.
"Don't come any closer, or I'll kill you!" The man shouted, though he was stumbling and could barely stand. His left hand trembled, and at this point, he had no energy left within him.
"You killed me once, and now it's my turn," Ye Chen said coldly. With that, he moved swiftly forward and thrust the sword into the man's throat.
"Gurk!" Blood poured from the man's neck as Ye Chen withdrew his sword, causing the man to fall forward, blood flowing like a river.
Ye Chen stood there with an indescribable expression on his face. His heart raced, and his hand trembled. This was the first time he had killed someone.
****************
Time passed quickly, and the sun's rays illuminated Long Tian's face as he lay asleep on a rug next to the window. He rubbed his eyes, still feeling somewhat drowsy after a short night's sleep.
As his vision cleared, he looked around, but Liu Qian was nowhere to be seen.
He got up, unconcerned about his nakedness. He remembered vividly the events of last night when he and Liu Qian had been doing it for hours.
"Where did she go?" he muttered to himself.
After standing in silence for a few moments, Long Tian decided to dress and make his way downstairs.
He headed to the bathroom to freshen up. Fortunately, this building had complete facilities, including various types of clothing.
****************
After finishing his shower, Long Tian donned casual attire and headed towards the main residence.
He happened to spot his mother watering the flowers in the garden and approached her.
"Hey, Mom, have you seen Qian'er?" he asked.
Hearing his voice, Xia Yunfei turned and gazed at her son. "Oh, you're up. Well, Liu Qian returned home early and was escorted by one of the guards. Is everything okay between you two?" she inquired.
Long Tian furrowed his brow. Today was still a holiday since students of sessions three and four were still undergoing Martial Spirit Awakening. So, there were two more days off, and Liu Qian shouldn't have left for school. However, he didn't dwell on it; she might have had other business.
"We're fine. I'm just wondering where she went," he replied.
Xia Yunfei smiled. "My son, I know you've had relationships with many girls. But this time, it's different. I heard from your father that Liu Qian awakened an S-Class Martial Spirit, just like you. She's also very beautiful, polite, and refined, and I've gotten to know her well. Don't you think she might be the one? I wholeheartedly support your relationship," she said sincerely.
"I'll give it a try," Long Tian answered.
*******************
The sun had begun its ascent into the sky, indicating that it was now midday. Long Tian had finished his breakfast and was heading towards a specific room.
His destination: to enter the realm of the dragons.
