Chapter 58 Dual Martial Spirit?!
Chapter 58 Dual Martial Spirit?!
"After witnessing the resplendent blue Phoenix, let's redirect our gaze to our next contender: Long Tian, please grace the stage," the emcee's voice rang out.
A gentle smile etched across Liu Qian's face. "Is it just a dragon or the superior one?"
"The superior one," Long Tian answered confidently.
"Good luck then," Liu Qian smiled.
Long Tian responded with a nod and with that, he strode toward the stage.
Many people immediately recognized him.
"Oh, there he is, the young master of the Long family. This is truly remarkable – after witnessing the appearance of the Phoenix, will we witness the birth of the dragon?"
"Throughout generations, every member of the Long family awakens a Mythical-type martial spirit, a dragon, and Long Tian is no exception."
"That's right, I'm truly curious. Some other young masters from the Long family awakened their martial spirits at academies and schools elsewhere, luckily we can see Long Tian here."
Many people chattered about Long Tian. He had become well-known, having achieved numerous accomplishments since entering high school, especially given his status as the young master of the Long family.
At this moment, Long Tian stood on the stage.
"Place both your hands on the surface of that crystal and close your eyes," the instructor said.
Long Tian nodded and proceeded to place both of his hands on the crystal's surface, closing his eyes.
Amidst the darkness, a surge of crimson fire erupted in the distance, steadily drawing near until it mirrored the cataclysmic impact of a nuclear detonation, leaving a city in ruins.
After mere heartbeats, an earth-shaking tremor rippled through the air, revealing the imposing sight of colossal dragon limbs, each step a testament to unrestrained power.
Amidst the darkness, a crimson fire emerged from a distance, growing closer until it resembled a nuclear explosion that devastated a city.
Long Tian's eyes burst open, revealing dragon-like irises ablaze with fiery red intensity. Around him, a palpable energy surged, exerting a weighty pressure that gripped the surroundings.
"GRRRRRR!"
A primal growl resonated through the vacant air, its resonance carrying the weight of ancient power. In a breathtaking spectacle, a colossal dragon materialized – its massive form cloaked in scales as red as molten magma.
Muscles surged beneath its fiery armor, every movement exuding a sense of raw might, and its expansive wings unfurled with a span that defied imagination, radiating an aura of commanding majesty. The sheer size of the dragon was gargantuan, dominating the stage with its awe-inspiring presence.
The dragon's snout bore intricate patterns that seemed to emit an inner light. Its eyes blazed with infernal intensity, revealing ageless wisdom.
"ROAAAARRRR!"
Its thunderous roar shook reality itself, commanding power. The air quivered in its wake, leaving a profound silence amidst the crowd.
Not long after, the large screen projected the text: [S-Class: Shen Long]
A wave of astonishment swept through the crowd at the sight. The meaning of "Shen," signifying god, and "Long," denoting dragon... A god-dragon hybrid!
"Wow, it's a dragon deity as a martial spirit!"
"No doubt about it, this is Long Tian we're talking about. He's truly remarkable."
"Incredible, that's no ordinary dragon. Shen Long... I feel like I'm witnessing a legend!"
Among the students, admiration and praise filled the atmosphere, a heightened sense of excitement and undeniable awe.
Even the parents watching from a distance couldn't conceal their surprise and admiration, their expressions equally stirred.
Not a few among them envisioned their daughters marrying Long Tian.
However, Qin Chen and Ye Chen were far from reveling in this happiness. Their expressions mirrored each other – both grim. Long Tian was their adversary, and now he had awakened an S-Class martial spirit, a significant blow to them.
But on the inscription, the text [S-Class: Shen Long] suddenly vanished. It wasn't because Long Tian had finished; in fact, his eyes turned pristine white without pupils as he still held onto the Awakening Crystal.
The instructors were puzzled; one of them tried to release Long Tian's hand, but it seemed his grip was unbreakable, as if his hand was stuck there.
Meanwhile, within the depths of Long Tian's sea of consciousness, the profound darkness transformed into a pristine ocean without shores. His ethereal form hovered in mid-air, a spectral embodiment.
Long Tian felt bewildered – he should have regained his awareness after awakening his martial spirit, but suddenly his consciousness was drawn into this ocean of consciousness itself.
Floating forward, he sought to uncover what was transpiring. However, something materialized unexpectedly – the shadowy figure of a man, donning a hat and wielding a rifle.
He couldn't halt there; it was as if an enigmatic force propelled him forward, passing through the silhouette. And then, another shadowy figure materialized, this time a burly bald man with a beard, carrying an axe.
And it didn't end there – numerous shadowy figures of various characters materialized, and he glided past them all.
After a moment, he suddenly ascended high into the sky, passing through the clouds and arriving atop a colossal mountain above the mist.
Four men suddenly appeared before him.
A bearded man with a single eye, wielding a spear.
The figure of a jackal-headed man, bearing symbols of death.
A man dressed as a cultivator, adorned with a long beard, wielding a crescent blade.
And a man with a beard whose body was shrouded in lightning.
Long Tian's eyes widened with shock at the sight of these four figures. They were none other than the gods from Earth's mythologies!
Odin from Norse mythology, Anubis from Egyptian mythology, Guan Yu from Chinese mythology, and Zeus from Greek mythology!
Long Tian could hardly believe it; the four gods stood right before him.
Confusion clouded his thoughts, but instantaneously, he deduced. When he transmigrated, the martial spirit he awakened was a dragon, and that was Long Tian's in this world.
But his soul hailed from another world, a realm with different mythologies and powers. And here he was, his Earthly soul capable of awakening martial spirits too!
Confronted by these four gods, he sensed that he could choose one among them.
Long Tian pondered deeply; these four deities possessed extraordinary powers, and he needed to choose wisely.
Odin, the god of war, wisdom, and poetry, met his end in the Ragnarok event.
Anubis, the god of death – it was evident he couldn't die, his powers intrinsically tied to death.
Guan Yu, the god of war, wielded extraordinary might but met a dramatic end.
And lastly, Zeus – ruler of Mount Olympus, the master of lightning, and an Immortal.
Faced with this choice, Long Tian hesitated not a moment, and he chose Zeus. His spectral form flew towards the bearded man shrouded in lightning.
A brilliant white light emerged, erasing the ocean of consciousness and reverting to its original form: boundless darkness.
Meanwhile, at the martial spirit awakening ceremony, confusion reigned over everyone as they witnessed what was happening to Long Tian – he remained motionless, and his pupils disappeared.
However, at this moment, ominous black clouds gathered in the sky, accompanied by the booming sound of thunder.
Rumble!
Suddenly, a massive bolt of lightning struck Long Tian!
Bang!
The instructors and the emcee leaped aside to avoid the lightning. Their expressions were fraught with worry as they observed Long Tian.
Yet, Long Tian's appearance bore no injuries; instead, his body was enveloped in lightning, and his pupils returned.
The memory of choosing Zeus lingered in his mind; he smiled contentedly. He had awakened a dual martial spirit!
Rumble!
The thunderous roar of lightning resounded once again, and the towering figure of the bearded man shrouded in lightning appeared above Long Tian.
It was none other than Zeus!
