Chapter 205 Time And Space
Zayn heard a lot about Pantheon, but he never visited it.
In the memories of his past life, Pantheon always rejected him, or he simply didn't care about that place. That information about his past life was enough to understand that he had been a Divine Being in the past.
'Thinking about it, I must have been an amazing guy in the past,' He thought as he stepped out of the white Gate to enter the lowest level of Pantheon. He appeared in a humongous hall with arched walls and a dome-shaped roof. Bright shining rays of sunlight shimmered in the glass windows, illuminating the entire place equally.
"Where are you Grimoire?" He mumbled, turning toward the closest hallway with a faint smile. Zayn felt that his soul pulled him somewhere, so he went that way, ignoring the divine energy that permeated the palace, "This way? Let's go then!"
Nobody stopped as he paved his way through the humongous hallway, but that was better for Zayn. He would have hated to fight his way through Divine Beings merely after becoming one himself. It was a hassle, especially since he was the lowest rank of a Divine Being. He didn't even have any Spirits to support him in the fight, and his equipment was not exactly helpful either.
The Dragontale Twin Sabers may be strong, but Zayn doubted that he could pierce a Divine Being with them. It was more likely that they would shatter. With that in mind, it was for his best that nobody seemed to bother about his arrival at the lowest level of Pantheon.
When he finally reached the end of the hallway, after what felt like an eternity, Zayn was about to push open the arched gates that would lead straight to the place where the Grimoire of the Ancient was located when he froze in his steps.
'Why was it so easy to enter Pantheon…and why the hell is the Grimoire of the Ancient so easy for me to perceive? This must be a trap!' Zayn realized too late that his trip to Pantheon had been too easy.
The more he thought about it the more obvious the trap was. Why was he so easily fooled? That was not like him!
[Don't bother thinking about the inevitable, child. Enter and you will find the answers you seek!]
An ethereal voice reverberated through Zayn's mind. He flinched but sighed deeply. Even though he had become a Divine Being, it looked like his intelligence deteriorated.
[I invited you to Pantheon to see you up close. Your Power is very interesting, child. I won't kill you, don't worry!]
Zayn didn't like the ethereal voice but there was nothing he could do about it anymore. He was already in Pantheon, and he was pretty sure that the ethereal voice was not some pushover. Zayn figured pretty quickly that the ethereal voice would have forcefully dragged him to Pantheon if he didn't come here voluntarily.
'A Greater God? Well, not that it matters anymore.'
He opened the Gate and found himself shrouded by eternal darkness. At least, that was what Zayn presumed to engulf him and pull him inside the room when he sensed it first. But it took only a few seconds before he realized that the eternal darkness was just…void…
The first thing he noticed was a bright, glowing band of stars stretching across the entire room. It caught Zayn's attention, and it was only a matter of time before he noticed individual points of light, each twinkling like a diamond in the sky.
But then his eyes were drawn to a faint smudge of light in the distance. It was a galaxy, Zayn instinctively knew, however, it was unlikely anything he had ever seen before. As he stared at it, he realized that the galaxy was a swirling vortex of stars and gas, a cosmic masterpiece that has been slowly evolving for billions of years.
The center of the galaxy was a bright, glowing hub of activity, with stars being born and dying at an incredible rate. Around the center, vast spiral arms stretched out, each one packed with billions of stars. These arms are curved and twisted, creating a mesmerizing pattern of light and shadow.
'What the hell is that?' Zayn wondered, noting more and more details about the galaxy. For a moment, he forgot about the Grimoire of the Ancient.
He realized that it was not just a static object. The galaxy was alive with movement and tremendous energy. Stars exploded, gas flowed, and planters orbited around their suns. It was a never-ending dance of light and matter, a symphony of cosmic phenomena.
And as Zayn stood there, blankly gazing at the stunning galaxy, he felt a sense of awe and wonder washed over him. He felt insignificant in front of the vivid galaxy that was brighter than any of the grand constellations he had ever seen before.
Zayn understood that he was just a tiny part of this vast, magnificent universe and that there was so much more to discover and explore.
[Do you like it? Unfortunately, this beauty is a big mess, kiddo. Even Gods don't dare to go there lightly.]
"Why is it a big mess?" Zayn asked, not realizing that the tension all over his body slowly dispersed.
[Because nothing is stable in this Galaxy. Everything might cease to exist in an instant, and even Gods would never be able to survive once that happens. The Realm Fusion of your planet also occurred in this place, and we don't even know why. Some Gods try to find out the solution, but you did them dirty by eliminating their proudest Sons and Daughters.]
"They were their pawns, their slaves…not their 'Sons' and 'Daughters'. That place is a big mess and these Gods, if you can call them such, are just trying to establish a foothold in that place. They don't really care about their people. Maybe they're mad about the power they lost from using high-level Blessings on their pawns, only to watch them die miserably."
Zayn realized that he was much calmer than before. However, that was not the reason he spoke like that. He was just fed up with the Gods in the fused realms.
"Can I get my Grimoire back and leave this place?" He thus asked straightforwardly. After all, there was no point in wasting anymore time.
[Hm? No.]
