Surviving the Apocalypse While Being Tempted by an Elf and a Dark Elf

Chapter 259 - Unexpected Goal (3)

When the giant noticed its endurance decreasing, it threw away Luke's ax and then tried to chop him with his own weapon, but then a barrage of electric arrows slowed him down considerably. The others weren't just watching Luke fight. Despite that, Luke was forced to jump and dodge the enemy's strike. To make things even more difficult, the giant kept spinning its ax behind his back to prevent Luke from doing that again.

"I suppose he is scared of attacks like that," Luke thought and then began to run around the enemy.

Even though the giant was slow for its size, it still could keep an eye on Luke while he was running. However, very suddenly, he lost sight of him. Out of nowhere, he disappeared, and the giant didn't find any signs of him increasing his speed. In the next moment, Luke bombarded the left leg of the giant with Fury Punches added with the power of Heavy Strike. The enemy reacted fast enough to swing his ax at him in the blink of an eye, but Luke disappeared again even before he smashed its weapon on the ground and made the entire fortress tremble.

The same thing happened several times until the giant decided to take some drastic measures. With Stinger, Luke could only move to the place in front of him so that the enemy could read his movements, but with Checkpoint, that was another matter. At level four, he could move to four direct locations and not in any order. The giant was aware of Checkpoint, but he never thought or saw someone using the spell like that.

Still, the enemy realized that Luke was moving around him to attack and decrease his defenses. He began to swing his ax in a circle to prevent Luke's attacks. While that didn't do much when Luke jumped backward and out of that range, he just had to do that for ten seconds in order for the effects of Heavy Strike to end. However, that left him vulnerable, and he didn't expect that Luke would have something that he could use at that moment that could make him win the fight. He was wrong…

Using the relic that granted him the power to sell items and use the shop whenever he wanted, Luke bought a frozen claymore and then used Weapon Augmentation level six. The giant immediately felt the danger when Luke swung the weapon at him, and the weapon broke. He stopped moving and then used his ax to block the frost shockwave. Thanks to that, he didn't suffer much damage, but his weapon and arms were now under a thick and hard layer of ice.

The giant took a few steps backward since he couldn't move his arms. Still, he was using brute strength alone to make the ice break. However, he stopped when he saw that Luke had disappeared yet again, and to make matters worse, something behind him shattered. When he turned around, he saw Luke in front of the remains of the red crystal, and then the fortress began to fall apart.

The giant took a moment to take a deep breath… due to the circumstance, he failed to protect its base. Luke could imagine what he would feel in that guy's place. Working for years only to have its base destroyed after so much hard work… that was why Luke raised his guard. The enemy would become most dangerous now.

Before the giant could do anything, Luke recovered his ax and returned to his friends' side. Even though he took his time, the giant attacked them before the fortress could collapse completely. Luke had to start from scratch stacking the effects of Heavy Strike, but that was fine. He already had accomplished half of what he wanted, which was to destroy the red crystal. Now the elves will have an easier time finishing their enemies and eventually will come to help.

When Luke saw the muscles of the giant increasing, he realized that he couldn't dodge. His friends would get hit by the attack if does so… fortunately, they were smart enough to open some distance between, so when the enemy charged, it only hit Luke and his ax. Still, those two flew to the distance due to the attack alongside the giant.

While spinning in the air, Luke felt his whole body cracking alongside his ax. That was why you shouldn't try to block the attack of someone bigger and obviously stronger. Nevertheless, when Luke's speed began to decrease, and he started to fall, the giant appeared over him and then swung his ax… That was bad, and yet, Luke couldn't do anything aside from blocking since the spots of Checkpoint had been destroyed.

In the end, Luke had a certain idea, and while it was risky, he decided to put it into motion. He held the ax firmly before he threw it at the enemy while using its effect. The giant easily repelled the ax with a single swing of his and then proceeded to split Luke in two, but in the end, he only cut the air. Luke had disappeared again.

The giant realized that he had used Checkpoint, but he didn't find Luke anywhere on the spots in the air that he had been in the last few seconds. Then suddenly, the giant heard the sound of the ax approaching again, but he easily stopped with two of his fingers. What he didn't expect was the fact that Luke would appear right above his ax and then attack the giant eyes with two ice spears.

"Hhaaaaaaarrrrrhhhhhhhggggggg!" The giant screamed in pain.

Even though it was constantly moving, the top of the ax was also considered a spot that Luke could use Checkpoint, and he used that in his favor… even though he didn't know it before. Nevertheless, the giant tried to pull out the spears in order to let his wounds recover, but then Luke used Stinger to make one of them pierce even deeper on the overlord's head… the pain prevented him from doing anything…
