Chapter 201: Groups (5)
Chapter 201: Groups (5)
After landing the castle at the mountain base, Rina and the other elves joined them. Those who knew each other greeted themselves in celebration, but not for long since Rina was down. Few people recalled about Rein due to his hair, but now people hated him for what he had done, even despite his goals. It was understandable, but it was also sad.
"Luke… I don't mind of you gathering monsters to fight for you, but I am worried about seeing you using skeletons as well," Julia said when she saw the skeleton army that was approaching.
"They are just tools, mom… not my best friends," Luke said. "I am using them and I will keep using them because we are short handed and because they are convenient."
Luke leveled up three times thanks to the skeletons alone. So they were too useful to abandon, even more now since they leveled up after the previous day's battle.
"Who is edgy now?" Richter smirked.
"You are still the one covered in black from head to toe," Luke replied.
Regardless, that day was a day to take it easy, so while the newcomers were unpacking their few things, Luke talked for a while with his friends and family. He told them in more detail about what he had done in the last month. While things have been busy in that world, there wasn't much to report on Earth. The sahuagins finally reached their base, but since at least five of the fifteen strongest survivors were always there, nothing serious happened… still, such tranquility only made Luke more suspicious.
"You say that you are shorthanded, but there aren't six hundred elves here?" Mark asked. "They are seriously pretty… are you losing confidence?"
"What confidence?" Luke frowned.
"That is my son…" Mark said.
"Well, not all of them are suited for combat and my skeletons don't need to eat or rest, so they are more efficient," Luke explained.
Speaking of efficiency, Luke confirmed that all the elves that were training reached level five in the resistance skills that they have been training. They had gotten a bit stronger, but they were still leagues behind the monsters in that world. Maybe it was time to put the second part of his training regimen into action…
"Although we were worried, you seem fine… so we are going to return, I wish you luck, son," Mark said.
"Don't forget to brush your teeth at least twice everyday, and take baths, I assume the skeletons will begin to smell after a while," Julia said.
Luke wanted to facepalm, but in the end, he just smiled. His parents were also thinking that he was on a field trip, or at least they wanted to make him feel more comfortable and relaxed since a lot of dreadful things were happening pretty often in his life. In fact, they only knew half of the things since Luke hid the most gruesome parts of his battle against Rein. He didn't tell them that he had lost an eye and that his fingers were bent in weird directions during most of the fight. Saying that would only make Rina feel even more miserable, after all. In any case, after two hours, Luke frowned since only his parents had left. The others still were there.
"Oh, man…" Luke said.
"Don't start your nagging," Amanda said. "I am here to help Celia and Luthi."
"Believe me, you are the least of my problems," Luke said. "Our home planet still is infested by monsters and you guys are trying to do something beyond your power."
"We have gotten stronger, so we can help our allies," Celia said.
"I am more worried about the problems you will cause to me along the way," Luke said. "Try not to get on my way, all right? Things are a bit annoying right now and that is already enough for some of us."
"We heard of your actions, so we know that you are going to look for the other elves, we can help with that," Rachel said.
"Not by much, the elves will only listen to their queen," Luke said. "She will have to be there for you guys to have any persuasive power. Regardless, I am going to let Rina rest for a while. Meanwhile, I will train her troops."
Luke used Appraisal and selected the ten that seemed the strongest. He then selected five of them and told them to attack him at the same time, and he didn't even have his sword in his hands. While it looked like he wanted to flex on them, he only wanted to make them realize once again the difference in power and how much they needed to work hard to become the right-hand man of their queen. In any case, the elves hesitated a d after a long sigh, he used Flying Kick and hit the stomach of one of them. While he used the level one of the skill, he still knocked the poor bastard down instantly.
"If you guys don't come, then I will attack first," Luke said.
That motivated the elves a bit more. Luke showed that he was more than a bit harsh when he was angry, so they had to be careful. In any case, the remaining four surrounded Luke and tried to attack him at the same time. However, he broke their encirclement by using Dash and then used Hoar to paralyze all of them. They stayed completely paralyzed and shocked for three seconds. Still, Luke didn't do anything since he wanted to confirm the duration of it.. When they began to move, though, he landed two liver blows and made two others bend their knee and gasp for air… the other two tried to gain some distance and use magic, but that also had been a mistake… The flying kick gained more power when the enemies were away than closer. Those two learned that in the worst way possible, by feeling it in their skin…
